Part 2: A Little Celebration and Promotions

Mission: Mission 80 - Outpost
Location: Holodeck 1
Timeline: Following Part 1

A few minutes after Mike and family arrived, K'Temoc stepped in. Unlike his older brother, K'Temoc was dressed in an Earth early nineteenth century tuxedo, complete with a top hat and cane. He saw a few people turn to watch him, and he smiled as he twirled the cane, playing the part.

Mike walked over to the table that had food and drinks for everyone. He set the box down at the end and removed the top. Inside were gold pocket watches for the men, and gold bracelets for the women. Each were engraved with the person's name it was to, two simple words, 'Thank you', and 'From Admiral Bremer'.

K'Temoc walked over and looked at the gifts. "Please tell me they aren't replicated." He asked with a smirk.

"They aren't...Zark and Mar'g charged me ten bars of Latinum for each. That was to cover shipping, handling, engraving, and of course a modest fee." Mike replied with a smile.

"Ferengi, what would we do without them?" K'Temoc replied with a smile.

The brothers shared a laugh while Mike got some punch for himself and Janice.

"How are you feeling sir?"

Mike turned around to see Lieutenant Commander Jonathan Roebuck standing behind him. New to Starbase 400, the Commander came to the party hoping to meet more of his new crewmates.

"Better, thank you. I still have another week of physical therapy though...as a matter of fact I have an appointment at 0900." Mike replied as he handed Janice her punch.

Paul, Alex's son decided to go ahead of his mom and Pike to avoid the sappiness. He walked in with Brandon, Deela's son. As soon as Brandon saw the tree, he ran over to it. He had never seen such a tall tree inside of a room. Paul went over to Deela to let her know her son was there. Deela nodded in acknowledgement and smiled.

Vincent excused himself and joined his son at the tree while Deela continued to mingle. She saw Bremer and walked over to him, noticing the gifts that he brought. "Glad to see you made it and bearing gifts as well. You wouldn't be trying to outdo the host, now would you?"

Mike smiled, “Not at all.” He looked around, then back to Deela, “Nothing could out do this, wonderful program, and you look lovely tonight.”

Deela smiled back, "Well thank you. I'm glad you like it. After this last mission, I had to do something to lift everyone's spirits. It's very difficult for me to ignore the emotions coming from those around me."

"Trust me, I understand. And this crew needs a break, it's been a stressful few months." Mike replied.

R'nard got dressed in the ceremonial robes of his order at the monastery, that of a Tralazar master. He did so to honor those who would be there. With that, he made his way to Holodeck 1 and when the door opened, he was awed at the display.

He entered and made himself at home.

David arrived at holodeck 1, and proceeded inside. Pausing for a moment to make sure his Marine dress uniform was in order, he took in the Surroundings. ''Pretty nice, I bet this took some work'', he muttered to himself as he ran a hand over his uniform to make sure that all his ribbons were in order, and his sword was in the proper place at his side. After he was satisfied with his appearance, he walked over to the refreshment table, and ordered a can of an old earth beverage called '' Mountain Dew''.

Lee had went to the bar after he and Alex had arrived he got her a glass of champagne and himself a beer, as he was going back to Alex he spotted Admiral T'Lar. He stopped for a moment to talk to her.

"T'kahr Admiral, it's nice to finally chat with you when not on duty."

"Ah , Captain Pike, same here. Congratulations on your engagement. You're getting yourself a great girl."

Lee nodded and smiled:"Thank you Admiral." He looked over towards Alex:"Yes she is a great girl and Paul seems to be a good kid."

"He's been very good to my son Brandon." Deela smiled at Alex and then back to Pike, "So, do you have a wedding date in mind or are you planning for a long engagement?"

Lee shrugged:"Well we really haven't talked about setting a date yet so guess you can say be a bit of a long engagement."

"I see. When you do decide to tie the knot, let me know. We'll throw you a nice wedding."

Alex smiled, "That is very kind of you." Vincent came over and joined them. He telepathically connected with Deela and said something that made her chuckle. He put one arm around his wife and then stuck his hand out, "Hi, I'm Vincent."

Lee stuck out his hand and shook Vincent's hand.:"Nice to meet you Vincent, as you probably already know I'm Lee."

Alex chimed in, "Vincent here is a writer."

Lee nodded:"Writer that's a good thing to be. So what do you write Vincent?" He then slipped an arm around Alex's waist.

"Oh, documentaries, mystery novels, and fantasy. I've never considered myself as a writer of one genre. Maybe one day, I'll write a children's book."

"He's very good" Deela said proudly . That's actually how we met. He never met someone who was Betazoid, Vulcan and Human and in Starfleet so he thought that it would be an interesting story. The rest is history."

Lee nodded:"Those are some very interesting things to write about. Now a children's book am sure would really be interesting."

Vincent nodded, "I think so too. I want to write something that our daughter Raivyn could enjoy growing up."

He chuckled:"An interesting way to meet someone there.

"I thought so too." Vincent chuckled, "I admit that I was attracted to her from the start. And what better way to get to know someone than to spend time with the person?"

"Aww." Deela smiled at Vincent, giving him a kiss. Alex cocked her head to the side, enjoying the exchange.

ON: (con't)

Lee nodded:"I agree with you there Vincent, I was attracted to Alex from the moment I laid eyes on her."

Alex got a little teary eyed, "That's so sweet of you to say. Believe me, I was too."

Vincent smiled, he proved his point. "See? Love at first sight IS a real phenomenon."

Lee smiled and nodded in agreement:"True there love at first sight is really something."

Deela saw someone enter the holodeck among other guests as well. "Really?" She was embarrassed for saying that out loud, "Forgive me but I need to excuse myself for a moment. Someone I didn't expect to see is here." Deela hoped that he wasn't there to cause problems. Vincent hugged her, ~I love you my Imzadi.~

Deela kissed him and then walked over to where Bremer was.
