| Personal History | David Hurd was born on July 4, 2358 to David and Alena Hurd. David grew up in Portsmouth, Ohio, Earth. He had many siblings and other family he grew up with. His father was a Chief Engineering Officer aboard the U.S.S. Threasher and his mother was the Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. Valor. David had a fulfilling life aboard the Valor with his mother. He rarely got to see his father due to he was posted on a different ship. When he grew older he made the decision he wanted to join Starfleet Marine Corps, his mother supported his decision but his father disapproved of his decision. In 2376 when David turned 18 he left his mother’s ship and travelled back to Earth to enroll in Starfleet Command. David was accepted and David worked hard during his years at the Academy. In 2380 David Graduated at the top of his class, but after graduation he found out that his parents were killed in action which had upset him as him and his father were not on talking terms due to his decision to join the Marines. Shortly after graduation he was assigned to the U.S.S. Markson as a Marine with the rank of Second Lieutenant. He worked hard while aboard where he got into a fight with a Klingon and got a scar that went down the left side of his face. In 2382 David was then assigned to the U.S.S Alliance as a Marine with the rank of First Lieutenant, he worked up in rank and position when he was promoted to the rank of Marine Captain and became the Marine Detachment’s Executive Officer after an accident that killed the previous XO. He served the U.S.S. Alliance until 2385 until he was assigned to the U.S.S. Essex as there Marine Detachment Commanding Officer at the rank of Major. In 2387, the USS Essex was transferred to Starbase 400 where she would become a Support Ship. He was given the position of First Marine Division Commanding Officer at the Rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Working his way up, he was promoted to full Colonel, when after a period of time a injury forced him to temporarily retire. Coming back to duty, a few years later due to a combination of circumstances he was promoted to General and given command of the 1st Marine Division on Starbase 400. |
