Mission: Mission 83 - Recovery
Location: SB400 and USS Lexington Bridge
Timeline: Following 'Little Help'

ON:

After talking to Sevlek and getting things set for the Vanguard and Lexington to cross the border undetected into Romulan space, Bremer headed to his Quarters to let Janice know he was leaving and to hug Becca and Christopher. It was the first time he’d been apart from his wife and kids since Marc and Emma’s deaths.

He couldn’t tell Janice everything about the mission, but he told her enough, and she was visibly worried, but she also knew that if anyone could pull off the mission it was Mike. Janice kissed her husband, but she didn’t tell him bye…she never did when he left out on a mission. She only said, “I love you, see you soon.”

After leaving his Quarters, Mike paid a visit to his former Executive Officer on the Pegasus, Commander Tamarith. As he stepped aboard her vessel, a Centurion met him at the airlock. “Admiral Bremer, the Commander asked me to escort you to the Bridge.”

Mike nodded and the Romulan lead the way. Mike had visited the Valdore type Warbird once before, but even though these Romulans had pledged their loyalty to the Federation when they defected, they were still Romulans and he preferred to spend as little time around them as possible.

While walking to the Bridge, Mike watched as several repair crews worked to repair computer systems and terminals damaged when the vessel encountered an ion storm a few weeks before. She had been patrolling along the Neutral Zone under cloak when it encounter the storm. The ship then limped back to Starbase 400.

Mike walked onto the Bridge to see work ongoing there too. The entire Tactical Station was removed from his base and a new one was being fitted.

“The panel exploded and sent a feed back into the EPS systems, however no one was killed.” Tamarith said to Mike as he walked up.

“You know, if you need assistance, I can have a damage control team come aboard to help.” Mike replied.

Tamarith nodded, “We can handle this easy enough.” She set a tricorder down, then turned back to Mike. “I’ve sent over the uniforms, tricorders, disruptors, system reconfiguration data that you requested. I also included the last set of communication protocols we received, but I’m sure they have been changed by now.”

“Thank you.” Mike replied. He’d told Tamarith that the supplies and data were for a training exercise along the border, and he wanted an authentic as possible training scenario for the crew. Even though Mike trusted Tamarith, he couldn’t risk a member of her crew still being loyal to the Star Empire and alerting them to the Vanguard’s and Lexington’s missions.

“Jolan tru Admiral.” Tamarith added before Mike could say anything else, then picked up her tricorder again and got back to work.

Mike turned and left the Bridge, but he knew Tamarith really meant ‘good luck’.

After leaving the Romulan ship, Mike headed straight for the USS Lexington. He’d never actually commanded a Sovereign class vessel before, but he’d been aboard several during his career. The Enterprise-E, Lexington, Vanguard, Essex-A, and Nautilus to name a few. The Admiral headed straight for the Bridge, and has he stepped off the turbolift, he saw several members of the crew were already present.

With such an over abundance of Captains and Security personnel aboard, he needed to divide out Bridge assignments. He also wanted to give his Away Teams some time to get used to the Romulan equeptment they would be using and train, as best they could with such little intel.

Bridge crew;
Admiral Bremer - CO
Captain Greenwood- XO
Counselor Delair- CNS
Lieutenant JG Murphy- Conn
Ensign Kingston- Ops
First Ramata’tar- Strategic Ops
Lieutenant JG Lee- Engineer
Ensign La Baron- Science
Dr. Thomas- Medical
Warrant Officer Talan- Tactical

Away Team 1 (Reman Recovery Team);
Commander Lokran- Team Leader
Ensign Brody
Lieutenant Commander Roebuck
Acting-Ensign K’Wor
Ensign Baratan

Away Team 2 (Vessel Sabotage);
Captain K’Temoc
Captain Harrison
Captain Pike
Commander Coleman
Lieutenant Commander Matthews

He selected the Special Operations Team for the sabotage of the Romulan vessel assignment, it was what they were trained for after all. Mike then made the obvious choice and picked Commander Lokran to lead the team to infiltrate the Romulan R&D facility and pull out the Remans that claimed to want to defect. He filled out the rest of the team with his best Security Officers, and he was hoping Saith’s Romulan knowledge would be an asset to them.

The rest of the crew took up the Bridge positions. Of course, if something was to happen, everyone would be thrust into protecting and saving the ship, and he was quite confident in his crew.

Mike walked over to the Command Chair and took a seat, then sent out the assignments. He waited a few moments, then spoke, “All stations, report readiness to depart.”

Aidan settled comfortably at the conn like it was his second home, finding a certain beauty in the glow of the LCARS displays in front of him. After a quick check to see that all flight systems were operating nominally, he was ready and rearing to go. "Conn is ready on your command, Captain." he said, correcting himself immediately after uttering a curse under his breath. "Admiral, sorry." He was still getting used to being on a starbase crew.

Bremer smirked, he'd once made a similar 'error'...long ago.

Anandra entered the bridge and made a beeline for the counselor's chair, where she simply sat down without announcing her presence.

Ensign Brody was at the Tactical station with Warrant Officer Talan. They were discussing last minute strategies and going over all of the adjustments Brody had made just prior to boarding the ship. Brody gave Talan a friendly slap on the shoulder before making his way to the turbolift. He was excited to practice with his new Romulan hardware. He turned to face the Admiral as the doors opened. "I've been properly relieved, Admiral. You're in good hands here," Brody indicated as he and Talan exchanged confident nods.

Bremer nodded to Brody, then glanced back at Talan for a moment before nodding to him as well.

Lee stepped onto the bridge and nodded to Admiral Bremer as he headed for the Intelligence station.

Captain Harrison followed right behind Captain Pike. She stood there for a moment, taking in the view of the bridge and the stations. Alex saw Warrant Officer Talan at Tactical and Ensign Brody entering the turbolift. She walked over to Warrant Officer Talan, someone she hadn't met yet, "Hi, how are you doing?"

Talan was a little surprised when Captain Harrison approached him. He had grown used to the idea of getting 'the cold shoulder' since joining Starfleet, so it was a relief that a superior engaged him in conversation. "I am...well, Captain. I am pleased to have been selected for this mission. I will not disappoint."

Mike looked back at Pike, "Captain I want you, Alex, and Jonathan to get K'Temoc and be ready for your Away Mission. We also have Lieutenant Commander Matthews coming along, he'll man the Intel Station on the Bridge during the mission."

Slade stepped off of the turbolift just as Bremer spoke to Pike. He nodded as he walked towards the station assigned to the bridge's duty intelligence officer and logged himself in, being sure to limit access permissions to the level that most of the crew was privy to. He looked towards Bremer, "Station at the ready, Admiral." A pause, "Sir, Admiral Sevlek asked me to inform you to contact him when preparations were complete aboard the Lexington and Vanguard."

"Understood sir." Lee then headed for the turbolift, nodding to Slade on the way there. Lee stood there holding the door open waiting for Alex.

Mike nodded to Matthews, "Very good."

Alex turned to see Lee already at the door and joined him. She glanced around the bridge on more time before stepping onto the turbolift.

He tapped his badge when he was in the turbolift:"Pike to Captain K'Temoc and Commander Coleman, meet me in the observation lounge."

Coleman was finishing up some last minute things in Engineering when he heard his combadge chirp. When he heard Captain Lee request his presence in the Observation Lounge, he pressed his combadge and said, "On my way Captain."

He handed the PADD he was working on to Lt. Lee and said, with a grin on his face, "Don't blow up the ship." Then, he headed out of Engineering and he headed to the nearest turbolift and up to the Bridge. When the doors parted and let him out onto the bridge, he headed over to the Observation Lounge and walked in to see Captain Lee in there already.

"Hello Captain," he said when he walked into the lounge.

K'Temoc was looking over a PADD when Pike, Harrison, and Coleman entered. "Once we're underway, I want the four of us to do a little training. Our job is to sabotage whatever vessel the Romulans are building to house a new Thalaron weapon. I want us to be able to locate the best places to set our charges for maximum effectiveness...without raising suspicions. We need to learn the ins and out of these Romulan plasma charges...but for now get your gear stored, including the Romulan toys we've barrowed." He smiled as he picked up the PADD again and headed for the door.

The computer notified Lokran and the bridge that Ensigns Brody and Baratan were both on board and in Security. Both appeared to be settled in and logged in. Although her voice sounded unsure, Saith also reported they were prepared for the mission.

Roebuck walked into the Security and gave a respectful nod to Brody and Baratan. Even though he was a Lieutenant Commander, an Ensign was his 'superior' officer. In actuality, it didn't really bother him, orders we orders, he just hoped the Ensign wouldn't think some of his methods were...unnecessarily.

First Ramata'tar arrived on the Bridge. He found several Officers already assigned to their positions, and some of them were looking back at him.

"Admiral, request assignment." The Jem'Hadar said.

Mike turned to see Ramata'tar standing at attention, with other members of the Bridge crew keeping on eye on him. "Take Mission Ops. I want you to assist Tactical and Intel as needed."

"It will be done." Ramata'tar replied as he walked over to the station he was assigned to and logged in. "Ready, Admiral."

Ryan looked at the arm panel on his chair to check the rest of the department statuses. "Admiral, multiple decks are reporting ready. All crew is on board. The Lexington should be ready to depart in less than 5 minutes."

R'nard entered Security after getting his notification of his away team mission. "Are all rready?" he said. "This will be a challenging one, infiltrrating the Rrromulan R&D facility." He had taken off his shoes to be quieter when he did it. One of the aspects of his training was to walk on rice paper without breaking it.

Back on the Bridge, Mike looked around one more time, as the Gladiator started to ease away from it's docking port.

"Release umbilical supports and docking clamps. Lieutenant Murphy, ease us back, one quarter impulse."

"Aye sir, easing us back at one quarter impulse." Murphy responded.

Mike tapped the comm-panel on his right arm rest, "Lexington to Station Ops, requesting permission to depart."

Captain Dow had come up from the surface of Kaleb IV to take command of the Station while the Senior Staff was away. "Permission granted, good luck."

The comm closed as Mike spoke up again, "Mister Talan, engage the cloak, Mister Murphy ease us up on the Gladiator, keep us within one-hundred meters of her until I give the word."

Aidan's fingers moved over the conn. "Acknowledged, holding within one-hundred meters, sir."

The Sovereign class USS Lexington shimmered away and disappeared as she cloaked. Mike saw the Vanguard cloaking as well, then the giant spacedoors opened up to show open space as the three ships started to move forward.
