Personality & Traits
General Overview | Brody is the epitome of professionalism and service while in uniform. He would die to protect his ship and fellow crew. He follows regulations almost to a fault. This has put him at odds with shipmates in the past, but no one has ever questioned his loyalty and sense of duty. While out of uniform, however, Brody is a cauldron of unmitigated emotions. He often drinks synthehol to excess, engages in dangerous holodeck simulations with the safety protocols disengaged, and often finds himself caught up in some altercation or another while on shore leave. Brody's story is dichotomous and is as intriguing as it is sad. Due to the nature of his childhood, Brody finds it difficult to feel comfortable in social settings. He often attempts to use humor to mask the fact that he is out of his element. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Brody is masterful tactician and hand-to-hand combatant. He is often assigned to away missions and has spent many man hours on the bridge at the tactical station. His bold decision making often de-escalates situations quickly, either by guile or brute force. During the Dominion War, he was selected to be Captain Clarke's personal bodyguard while serving aboard the U.S.S. Tomahawk. Brody is a man who is barely in control of his emotions. He has buried deep the wounds of his past so well that no psychological exam could glimpse the pain he is hiding. The more time passes, however, the more he begins to lose his hold over his anguish. His personal life continues to become more tumultuous and he risks his professional life suffering as a result. |
|
Ambitions | Brody hopes to command a Starship of his own someday. He recognizes his badly damaged psyche will likely prevent him from marrying, so he has thrown himself into his work and has fully committed to Starfleet.
Hobbies & Interests | Brody loves spending his free time on the holodeck running ancient Earth contact sports programs. He also enjoys law enforcement programs from various periods on Earth's past. When not on the holodeck, Brody can usually be found gazing out of a window in Ten Forward or jogging through the ship's halls. |

Personal History | Born in 2357 on the Lunar Colony New Berlin, Brody is a Lunar Schooner through and through. Brody barely had time to call Luna home before being dragged across the cosmos with his family as his father was a Starfleet Officer. Brody spent the majority of his formative years aboard starships and traversing the cosmos. At the age of 9, Brody accompanied the rest of his family aboard the U.S.S. Harbinger where his father was serving as First Officer. Only a few months into their mission of deep exploration, the Harbinger was attacked by an unknown alien race. Boarded and outnumbered, the crew of the Harbinger were quickly overwhelmed. Knowing their time was short, the Harbinger's Chief Transporter beamed away all of the ship's 31 children into a state of suspended animation; their patterns stored in the buffer for over a month. When the children rematerialized, they were thrust into a scene of unspeakable death and gore. Tasked with the unspeakable, Brody and the other children were forced to "bury" their loved ones and sanitize their ship. Orphaned and alone, the children of e Harbinger were forced to limp home on impulse, before reaching Earth six years later. Brody spent the voyage as the de facto First Officer. After returning home, Brody and his siblings were taken in by their aunt and uncle. As a Starfleet instructor, their uncle pushed all of the Brody children into service, but only David Brody remained. Brody has maintained a distance from his siblings. They have all moved on in their lives and he feels his presence would only serve to remind them of their father and disrupt the balance they've established in their lives. |

Service Record | 2372-2375: Attended Starfleet Academy. Displayed an aptitude for strategy and war games. Excelled in hand-to-hand combat training. Struggled in areas of science and linguistics. Was recommended to be reassigned to the Marine Officer Candidate School, but was ultimately allowed to remain in Starfleet Academy. Spent field training during final year aboard the U.S.S. Tomahawk, where he immediately impressed Captain Clarke and the rest of the senior staff. Captain Clarke pushed for Brody's assignment to the Tomahawk, entering into his final review of the Cadet that "while peace is the ultimate goal, there will always be a need for an officer of Brody's skills." 2375-2380: Assigned to the U.S.S. Tomahawk (Excelsior-class refit) as a Security Officer. Served as Captain Clarke's personal bodyguard, accompanying him on away missions and at diplomatic functions. Fought valiantly in the waning days of the Dominion War and demonstrated continued optimal Tactical efficiency in various border patrol skirmishes. Following Captain Clarke's retirement in 2380, the Tomahawk was decommissioned and all crew reassigned. 2380-2385: Assigned to the U.S.S. Alameda (New Orleans-class) as a Security Specialist under Captain Sharma. Received a field promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade during the ship's five year, deep space recon mission. Improved photon detonation yeild and reduced phaser bank recharge times which impressed his young Captain. Captain Sharma was promoted to Rear Admiral and the Alameda was decommissioned and all crew reassigned. 2385-2389: Assigned to the U.S.S. Tacoma (Miranda-class refit) as Security Specialist under Captain Wilmont who was a science officer through and through. Having an obvious resentment towards what he called a "trained killer", Captain Wilmont's first order of business was to recind Brody's field promotion, returning him to the rank of Ensign. Operating safely within the confines of Federations space, Brody found his skill set was being squandered. Taken off bridge duty and assigned to munitions cataloguing, Brody bided his time before seeking a transfer off of the Tacoma. 2389-Present: Transferred to Starbase 400 as Assistant Chief Security/Tactial Officer under Admiral Bremmer. |

Simming History | This is my first attempt at simming. No experience whatsoever.
How did you hear about Starbase 400 | Purely by accident. I was googling starship specs and was directed to this site. A rather fortuitous turn of events. |
