=/\= USS Mercy, Main Bridge=/\=

Hades walked onto the Mercy's bridge. He was taking over, as part of his duties, the CO duties to this ship when needed. To say he was happy was understatement. He was excited as hell but hid it well. He sighed as he looked around. It was a different kind of ship. There was only one command chair that dotted the center with the caduceus plaque on the side.

He sighed and walked over to the center chair hesitating briefly he sat down and brought up the arm panel. He quickly sent out a call to his crew to hurry up and checked the status reports as they came in. Corrigan was in charge of sickbay. He didn't like that she was back on duty so quickly after almost dying but it had to be done. Signing on he called out, "Computer Lieutenant Commander Hades Commanding Officer Gamma three O five. Sign on."

The computer whirled about. "Acknowledged, Lieutenant Commander Hades command authorization accepted. Welcome aboard Commanding Officer."

He raised an eyebrow and then remembered the calibrations that had been done to give the ship more personality that matched the EMH. It was a test for the medical ship. He hoped the rest of the crew was getting aboard.

This was not the kind of first day she had imagined. Stepping down from the transporter pad, carrying one of the equipment cases a nurse had thrust into her hands when she was leaving sickbay, Cadet Chloe Winters made the journey towards the main medical bay. Last year she had been assigned to another Olympic class medical ship, the layout identical to the USS Mercy, so at least she was confident she wouldn't get lost.

It was just everything else she needed to panic about. Like whatever had happened to warrant all of this...

"Coming through!" a voice called out in warning as she stepped out into the corridor. She looked around just in time to realise a technician was coming almost straight at her, pushing an antigrav trolley stacked high with containers. Chloe jumped back out of the way, staring after him as he rounded the corner and disappeared out of sight.

"Are you alright?

Chloe nodded, tugging to straightening her uniform a little. "Yes thanks," she said with a nod. She was about to say something more when she realised the woman who had spoken was not in uniform. "Not to be rude but, should you be on the ship?"

"Probably not," the woman grinned, "but needs must. I think you should probably be getting that case to sickbay."

More people were arriving, emerging from the transporter room in small groups. A scene being repeated throughout all the ships being deployed.

"Good to see you, Doctor," some of them said to the woman as they passed by and Chloe deduced that they, at least, knew who she was. So probably not some intruder for her to call security about.

One of the passing nurses put a hand on Chloe's shoulder and turning her to face the turbolift at the end of the corridor. "Come on, Cadet. We can't afford to stand around here all day."

Dr Corrigan watched as the nurses headed off and took a deep breath before turning and heading in the opposite direction. She needed to get herself a uniform, the strongest coffee a replicator could dispense and then check in with Hades to find out what was going on.

After disembarking from the Sutherland Nathaniel was Contacted by Lieutenant Commander Hades to report aboard the uss Mercy he told Chloe Young that he was to report aboard the U.S.S. Mercy she was going to miss him he held her in his arms and said he would be alright before he left he gave her a kiss on the lips and told her that He loved her. He hit his combadge "Nathaniel to mercy ,one to beam up"he had his personal effects sent to his quarters as soon as he transported aboard and headed right to the bridge " Commander Hades, Ensign Nathaniel Capp reporting as ordered. he stood at attention.

Hades gave a nod. "I hear you have some excellent flight skills. I am honoured to have you aboard. Please take your station Ensign Capp. Welcome aboard."

He watched the officer take his station. "We'll be leaving in one hour."

Surprised to be ordered on ship by Hades of all people Rol had hurriedly packed and found himself on the Mercy He was feeling much better and had been cleared again this morning but he was still a bit weak. He was glad his position involved sitting down. He unpacked in his temporary quarters and then decided to head to the offices. He was also trained in basic medical so he would need to make his way down to sickbay and report in.

=/\= Runabout Alexandria =/\=

Looking over the command consoles for the Runabout, Lieutenant Franklin checked his time of arrival to Starbase 400. The trip from Starbase 316 to Starbase 400 only took several hours, but Nate had pushed the engines of his little runabout to the extreme to shave off time, which helped to get him to the Starbase approximately one hour early.

As the space doors shut behind his Runabout, he received an incoming message from Dock Control. They were diverting his Runabout to the USS Mercy, the Olympic-Class Medical Vessel attached to Starbase 400. The message read that he would report directly to Commander Hades aboard the Mercy and be attached to them for a medical crisis on Tarod IX.

Excited to be put on his first away mission so early in his attachment, he was also a bit nervous. Not anxious, but more nervous about wanting to make a good impression, especially if he was going to become a doctor one day.

As he enters the command and heads toward the Mercy, he took a good look at the ship, as e knew he would become very well acquainted with her over the next several months and years. While the Olympic Class Starships were a bit older, they still had a bit of grace about them and beauty as well. He requested access to land in the main shuttlebay and a voice came over the intercom, granting him access. The Runabout let down with a gentle hiss and Nate let his fingers run across the console, making sure it wasn't going to go anywhere.

Picking up his bag, he decided he would put his bags away in his quarters before heading up to meet Hades. As he walked out of the hatch, the female voice of the computer said, "Voiceprint and command code verification required. Please state Name, Rank, Position, and Command Codes for access to USS Mercy."

Stopping in his tracks, Nate said, "Nathan Franklin, Lieutenant (Junior Grade), Head Nurse. Access Code Franklin-Alpha-1-Beta-2."

The computer chirped and said, "Identify verified. Franklin, Nathan Alexander. Head Nurse, Starbase 400/USS Mercy. Beta Two Clearance. Welcome aboard."

With that, Nate continued on his way up to his quarters. He got with the Quartermaster for the ship and easily found his way. Dropping off his case of clothes and uniforms, Nate headed up to the Bridge and once he stepped off the turbolift, he looked around for a moment to find the person with the most rank pips. Since he didn't know anyone on-board yet, he wasn't sure who was Hades. Seeing someone with the pips for Lieutenant Commander, he walked over to him and introduced himself.

"Sir, I'm Nathan Franklin. I was looking for Commander Hades," Nate said, hoping that he had found the right person.

Hades gave a nod. "Welcome aboard, we have been eagerly expecting you Mr. Franklin. I am indeed Hades." He started walking towards the ready room. "You are with me." He tapped his badge. "Doctor Corrigan to Command Ready Room. Use Transport please."

Leaving orders for what needed to be worked on next, Carolyn set up the site to site transport. It seemed a waste but she wasn’t going to argue with him. As she materialises the doors to the office were just starting to open.

=/\= Ready Room=/\=

Following Hades into the Ready Room, he made to take note of everyone that was on the bridge as well. He wanted to make sure that he would be able to put names to races when he got introduced. As the doors opened, he heard the whoosh of a transporter and saw a young lady beaming in. As the doors shut behind them, Franklin spoke up.

“By the way, sir. Lieutenant Nathan Franklin reporting for duty,” Franklin said, standing at attention and waiting for his superior officers to relieve him.

Hades gave a nod. "At ease. I don't stand much on rituals. We are all doctors and nurses and equals." He pointed to Corrigan unfazed by her materialization. "Alright. Doctor Carolyn Corrigan Assistant Chief Med officer this is Nathan Franklin head Nurse. We have five minutes to chat. Then I got to get prelaunch done. I will be holding a briefing for all department heads while we are underway. The trip will be four hours but there will be no relaxing. " He motioned. "Sit both of you." He sat down at the head chair and then stood up walking to the replicator. He ordered a coffee for himself, hot chocolate for Caroline and turned to Franklin. "What are you drinking."

"Romulan Sweet Tea, if you don't mind. It should be listed under Picard-Alpha-117," Franklin said as he sat down next to Corrigan.

He pulled out the drinks and gave them out sitting back down. "Mr. Franklin you have walked into the lions den now. I have read your record...this morning actually and I can see that you are the tough as nails addition to our team that we need."

Understatement of the year Carolyn thought as she took a long drink but saying nothing.

He sighed, "Long story short our nursing department seems to prefer gossip over work. One of our nurses dispensed medication that could have killed doctor Corrigan here. I need you to assess them over the next two months. I want the problem children out and new staff in. Do you think you could do that?"

Thinking about how someone could dispense the incorrect medication for someone and would rather gossip over helping others. While everyone needed their own way to relax, that was meant for personal time, not on the clock.

Nodding slightly, Franklin said, "Yes, I understand completely. While I haven't had a chance to meet my new staff, I'll make it a high note to assess the strengths.....and weakness of our nursing staff to make sure that they are up to par. Is there any certain ones that I should look out for more than others?"

"Absolutely. Our main problem child seems to be a nurse named Elizabeth Lynn." He looked at Carolyn. "That would be the one that almost killed Doctor Corrigan. I realize that mistakes happen but five more minutes and...." He shuddered. "Anyway that aside. this mission. We have a Cadet Chloe she's green and she will need some hand holding. Very skilled but lacks confidence. Would you take her under your wing during this mission?"

"Well, we've all started from somewhere. Sometimes, confidence isn't always there, but that's something that can be earned and she's definitely young enough to gain it," Franklin said, taking a sip of his tea before realizing how strong that it. Thinking about the other nurse though, that got his blood boiling.

When he was at the Academy and getting his license for his RN, Nate had one classmate that always seemed to like to cut corners. He hated it, but there was nothing he could do back then. Now though, Nate had a chance to fix some mistakes.

"I'll make sure that the nurses are well taken care of and the problem children are weeded out. There'll be no problems coming from them once I'm done with them. Also, sirs, I am currently going back to the Academy and studying to get my MD, so any advice would be much appreciated along the way," Nate said, looking between the two doctors.

“Of course,” Carolyn assured him, speaking up for the first time. “Anything you need, just ask.” She shifted her gaze to Hades, “I saw Rol’s name on the manifest.”

She couldn’t exactly question the decision given her own situation. “Will he be assigned to Sickbay?”

Hades also chimed in. "Anything you need. We have a Marine medic who is also working for his MD doing distance and taking exams so anything you need as Doctor Corrigan said let us know."

He turned back to Carolyn. "Yes Rol has basic knowledge but he's also head counselor here so he'll help with talking with the patients as well as the medical side."

"That being said," Hades continued. "Let's get to our stations. We leave in 30 minutes and in one hour we have a senior staff briefing." He stood.

"Understood," Carolyn said, getting to her feet.

Nodding in agreement, Franklin didn't say much, but hopped to his feet and headed out with his two superior officers.

=/\= Main Bridge =/\=

Nathaniel looked over his helm station and got acquainted with his department staff since he was the acting department head while on this mission.

Hades walked onto the main bridge. "Mr. Capp You are now my chief helm. We've got a senior staff briefing in one hour I want to be ready to warp out in 30 minutes. Can we make it happen?"

Nathaniel said, "my staff and I are getting the ship prepped as we speak Commander."

Hades smiled, "Mr. Capp I want to take a moment and say how glad I am you are here. I have read your record and I am honoured to have you aboard."

Thanks Sir I am Honored to be here.My girlfriend and department head lt. Young is aboard the uss Ark royal sir.

He smiled, "Well you are department head here. I will see you in the briefing." The preparations began for launch.
