Mission: Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"
Location: Section A1 - Level 0107 - Promenade
Timeline: MD2, 1121 hours

[ON:]

Commander Coleman had been running through various hallways to try and get to Ops, but had been running into roadblock after roadblock. He noticed there was a buzz on the station about weird happenings, people being hurt, and so much more. Coleman had his own experience himself with a cousin of his that had disappeared with the rest of the ship and crew he was apart of.

However, when Coleman ran into another roadblock, he just stopped and was about to give up when Coleman saw O'Riley and K'Lar on the promenade. Coleman ran over to the two and said, "Have you guys heard anything about what's going on the station? It's abuzz with activity!"

There was a frenzied look about the Klingon science officer. He was used to drawing conclusions. However, the day had only brought confusion.

"There has been a case of sabotage", K'lar shouted over the confusion of the crowd. O'Riley and himself had heard the news from passing Ops officers. "The Yorktown exploded, damaging other ships and wrecking the bay doors."

As people rushed around them, K'lar said, "I think Admiral Bremer got hurt.. But I am not sure." K'lar could only be partially sure about news he'd gathered on the promenade.

In a rare situation for the Klingon, he actually did not carry his phaser today. He normally made a habit of wearing it while on duty, and was quietly scolding himself.

"I just had a weird experience myself. I was just down in Science Lab 4, working on some experiments and walked away for a moment. When I came back, I saw a cousin of mine that has been missing for almost a year with a ship he works on. Then, the experiment went bad when I looked back at it," Coleman said, looking around to see what was going on around the promenade level.

There were a few medical professionals all running around, trying to get to various parts of the base to make sure that they were doing alright. This part of the base looked out onto the part of the base that had been attacked, primarily the bay doors and where the Yorktown was attacked.

Looking back at the two gentlemen, Coleman said, "You guys haven't had any weird experiences, have you? Seen people that you haven't seen for a while or anything like that?"

"I got one. A missing cat.". Said a buff Bolian walking up with someone who looked human carrying a wounded Vulcan. The Vulcan was laid down nearby with specks of green fluid running down a leg. "Mal gonna make it Phan?"

She ran a tricorder over her friend. "I believe so. I'll need supplies to form a splint for the leg and wrappings to stop the bleeding. May any of you get those for me?"

A strange experience did resonate with K'lar as the wounded Vulcan was laid down alongside them. He moved towards the arrivals as the questioned lingered in the air. "I believe I may be of assistance with the wrapping", K'lar said somewhat calmly.

As he grabbed the pantleg of the injured Vulcan and tore the material, he began to spoke, "I received a call from security about being spotted wearing odd Klingon armor and running down the halls.. However", he said as he carefully ripped the material away from the wounded leg.

This would allow the woman a chance to get a better look at the injury. "I was able to verify my whereabouts." With a little force, he tore the material from underneath after ripping it up along his legs with both hands. Klingons strength shredded the fabric, after sharp claws cut them carefully.

K'lar looked around for something which could be used as a splint. In the distance, small trees grew from pots, decorating the promenade. K'lar quickly ran, snapping off a branch which was fairly straight and thin enough to be used as a splint.

He handed the dry, fragrant wood to the Bolian. Turning back to Coleman, he said, "the appearance of doppelgängers is quite troubling", K'lar said about the apparent doubles. K'lar watched the officers work on their wounded comrade, seeing if he could be of assistance.

Coleman scratched his chin and thought about everything that happened during the last hour or two, as well as what K'Lar said about the happenings in Ops. He leaned down to help K'Lar finish up the dressing of the Vulcan that appeared to be hurt. As he was finishing up with K'Lar, Coleman asked the Vulcan, "What happened to you guys anyways?"

The Bolian looked at Coleman. Distraught beyond seeing his friend hurt clearly. "Said we were missing a cat didn't I?". Dolphanai gave him a stare and he quickly changed his tone. "Sorry sir. Malorey can tell you more."

"We-, aughh, we were to meet our friend Ensign Anisu.". Said the Vulcan trying his best to collect himself and take the pain. "His quarters were empty. Even his DOT Seven wasn't inside. We inquired where he, hrgghmm, might've gone. Ahhh.". The Onlie tried her best to soothe the Vulcan's leg.

"Computer said his last position was in a storage bay somewhere near his quarters. We noticed something crawling out of the room sir. We fought it off. Well Tyronuas fought it at least. It was like a substance I haven't seen before and it hurt Malorey by wrapping around his leg shattering at least a few bones.". Said the girl.

"Malorey didn't get hurt for nuthin' though Dolphanai. Crazy green blood of his told him to pop the critter with a few gigavolts from an exposed panel. Dang thing screeched to the heavens shattering that leg but at least it ain't hurtin' no one anymore.". Said Tyronuas as Malorey collected more of himself looking right at K'Lar and Coleman.

"Sirs. Ensign Anisu is not on this station anymore. Whatever that...critter," Malorey raised a eyebrow giving a brief glance at Tyronuas. "Was. Clearly had something to do with his disappearance. We have fortunately also recovered some of the memory cartridges from what remains of Edg'rrr's DOT Seven. It isn't much but perhaps the droid's final moments could provide more answers.". Said Malorey giving Coleman the scorched parts.

Tim looked around at the mess and tried to wipe the sweat from his forehead. His usually tidy uniform was torn in places and he was doing his best to concentrate on what he was doing. The echos of those that were trapped or hurt were coursing through his mind as he tried to close off those telepathic connections so he could work. He still hasn’t heard from his wife, not even through their telepathic bond. The thought of those that looked like members of the crew troubled him and he thought back on his time in another place when he and Olivia were held captive by his mirror counterpart.

Look up O’Riley said, “There been damage to many of the stations systems. Been trying to get internal sensors back online but from down here it’s a task that will be impossible with out bypassing some key components. We need to get to OPs if we are going to have any luck in getting some of our systems back on line, and we are also trying to get comms up again. The explosions took out many of our systems and the backups could not compensate because of the extensive damage.” Tim looked up at Coleman, have we heard from anyone else yet?”

K'lar finished helping the others move the Vulcan into a more comfortable position. He turned to Coleman and added, "Yes, Commander.. Any other words or information at the moment?"

"Nothing too much beyond what you guys have heard about everything happening onboard the station. Like I said, the weirdest thing for me was that I saw a cousin of mine that has been missing for quite some time now. Haven't heard from him in months now. But, we need to get somewhere to analyze these pieces. Are the turbolifts cleared between here and OPs?" Coleman inquired, wondering if there was a clear and easy way up to OPs.

Tim looked around before standing to look at Coleman, “Unsure, we got pinned down with the explosions and then helping the injured. However, we need to be on our guard. If we are seeing people that have disappeared we may run into people who look like us, and besides there personality traits they will be hard to distinguish from those who actually belong on the station. I recommend we make our way toward OPS.” Tim looked around at the others who were with him.

"I am sure we can find a turbolift", K'lar said in an almost grunting voice. After looking around momentarily, he added, "This way!" The officers took off towards a turbolift they saw open. Apparently not all of them had been knocked out.

Taking the turbolift could still be a risky prospect, knowing power could be cut from them at any moment.

Coleman ran after K'Lar and began making their way to a turbolift hopefully. However, Coleman was just as worried about being able to get a turbolift all the way up to Operations. As the trio entered the turbolift, Coleman ordered it all the way up to Operations, but the computer replied, "Turbolift will take you up to Level 5. Everything beyond that is cut off."

Looking at everyone else, Coleman shrugged and told the computer to take them all the way up to level 5. As they began their journey up, Coleman replied, "Hopefully, you guys are in the climbing mood."

Tim chuckled, “My Olivia mentioned I needed to hit the gym more. I guess I will bet my workout in now.” Tim was used to crawling around the station but climbing up to reach ops was going to be a workout.

K'lar grinned wide. "A simple climb shall not deter us", he said as he nodded to both officers."We must get to the bottom of these disturbances." His facial features took on a more serious look as he thought of the possibility of his doppelgänger's presence aboard Starbase 400.

"Studying a genetic sample of one of these... intruders... should prove to be interesting." The Klingon science officer wondered if studying their DNA might reveal any particular markers. There was also the chance that DNA tests proved to be inconclusive.

Tim nodded, “If we are dealing with who I think we are then DNA test will be inconclusive. I'd advise everyone to be on guard and weary of who we may encounter, especially if we we people that should be dead or we know are assigned to other parts of StarFleet. Everything about this is a tad familiar and I'm starting to get a nasty feeling in my gut.”

As the trio of men talked to one another and began going higher and higher, Coleman said, "Well, the DNA of our uninvited guests would be interesting. I'd love to get some samples to see how they differ, like K'Lar said. Did Oliva say anything about her experiences with the mirror universe?"

Tim nodded, “He was fascinated by her, his Olivia had been killed by him own hands for betraying him, and he loved the fact that she reminded him of her. He kept me locked up for a while flaunting the fact that he had her and how easy it would be to kill her like his Olivia. When I escaped I left him a nasty scar on his face.”

K'lar meditated as the turbolift carried them through over oe hundred decks, all within Section A1 of the starbase. Just as his mind had to come up with a scientific conclusion, his Klingon DNA couldn't distract him from physically encountering one of the intruders. He took deep breaths to try focusing on the task at hand.

The turbolift came to a stop at deck 5, not far from the Strategic Ops Department's section. As the door opened, K'lar led the charge towards the nearest Jeffries' tube. The Klingon science officer rushed ahead, ensuring he was the first to climb.

Others moved to and from across the deck. K'lar wondered if some of these people could be intruders. He had to stay focused, turning back to the others. "Ops is Deck One, correct?" He had to ask before climbing, since he had only been to Ops twice.

Tim shouted as they were running toward the Jefferies Tube, “It is, not sure what we will find there but we need to be prepared for anything. I am hoping the OPS hasn’t been compromised, but I’m starting to get a really bad feeling in my gut.”

"Looks like we're going to have to start climbing the rest of the way up to Ops. You guys ready for a bit of fun heading up there?" Coleman said to the two other gentlemen with a smile.
