Mission:
Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: MD2, 1415hrs
ON:
The sound of the turbo lift arriving in Ops was by far normal. The Security Chief falling out of it wasn't as he hit the floor with a heavy funk.
As the on-duty staff rushed to the lizard pulled himself to his feet as he looked around the room in a daze. "I'm okay I need to see the Admiral." he hissed as he steadied himself on shakey legs.
Mike wasn't much better off. After his fight with his Mirror Universe self, then the explosions aboard the Station, some of his wounds were open and bleeding again and his head was pounding.
Slowly, Mike walked over to Xalanth, then leaned against the nearest console. "Re..report."
"Admiral you look like how my head feels." Xalanth said nothing his commanding officers appearance.
Bremer smirked.
"Sir we have a serious problem. We have a hostile changeling on board," he added his voice showing his seriousness.
K'Temoc looked back at Xalanth.
"A Changeling?" Mike asked, confused. "I thought we were fighting Mirror Universe agents."
"Mirror......" Xalanth began before his mind snapped back remembering Ariana odd behaviour and the perfume. "Damn it. We have a mirror Ariana running around then, but no I was attacked by a changeling. It was wearing Lelani's face. I only realized it wasn't her when I didn't smell are next born." The lizard explained his hand shaking as he did. " Sorry sir my brain not built to hurt my mates. It's still trying to work out what happened."
K'Temoc stepped over, "Could it be a Changeling from the Mirror Universe?"
Mike shook his head, "No...no this one is from our universe. Initiate protocols..." Mike paused a moment as he took a breath, "Initiate counter-shapeshifter procedures. Have Marines and Security start phaser sweeps and have medical blood screening."
Mike paused again as he looked around. He couldn't tell anyone right now what he'd learned earlier in the day, he didn't know who he could trust anymore. "And get Medical up here now to assist Xalanth...and blood screen everyone in Ops."
"Sir." Blackthorne said to Bremer after looking over damage reports and current status updates from Ops. "Damage here is worse than we thought, we have power couplings failing, and no matter how we reroute power there's overloads. I highly recommend we shut down Ops and operate out of either Tactical Operations or Auxiliary Control until we can get repairs completed, but it will take some time."
Mike nodded. "Listen up everyone. Save you data and log out, we're moving everything down to Tactical Operati..."
Before Mike could finish one of the damaged consoles no one was using exploded.
"That's it, everyone out!" Mike tried to pick up Xalanth to help him to a turbolift, but as hurt as he also was, he couldn't. Blackthorne lent a hand and the three limped to the lift as everyone else logged out. As the lifts closed, a cascade power surge ran through Ops, blowing out several consoles, exploded others, and sparks filled the air.
