Mission:
Mission 86 - Discovery
Location: USS Yorktown, Bridge
Timeline: MD1 1125 hrs, Following 'Taking a Look Around'
ON:
K’Temoc returned to the Bridge, his steps were heavy…determined. He knew by now everyone on the Bridge would be aware of the incident moments before on Deck Two...
“I need everyone to check and recheck all their systems, down to the ODNs. I don’t want a repeat of what just happened…I don’t want anyone else hurt.”
K’Temoc then took his seat, “Commander are we still on course? What’s our current speed?”
Yamaguchi had risen from the Center chair when the Cpatain had appeared on the bridge but she did not announce him, she saw no need and she suspected that this was a man who hated that little formality. "Our speed is presently at Warp Four point one." she explained evenly. "and yes, we are still on course." she added gently, her tones sounded almost soothing as she could feel the seething cauldron that was the Captains emotions but his mental control was far more then she was expecting.
She found herself being impressed by his control and she found herself reevaluating her opinions of Captain K'Temoc as she turned to her panel. "Engineering is responding to the explosion on deck two and so is medical."
The Com system beeped. "Sickbay to bridge." Siaxx Dvald's dulcet tones came over the com system. "Ensign Jesette is going to be alright.." came the explanation as another voice cut into the com chatter. "Fives to bridge. I'm at the explosion site now... we're starting our checks but this looks like an overloaded power conduit.." he paused. "All the same, I'd like security to run a full check of the area.... just to be sure."
K'Temoc let out a relaxing breath. He was glad to know the Crewman...Jasette was going to be okay. He was also a little revealed to hear the explosion didn't look like sabotage...but the way the turbolift doors acted was still bothering him.
"Very well." K'Temoc replied as he was punching up a ship status report on his left display panel.
"Captain to Fives, while you're on Deck Two, run a full diagnostic on the Turbolift...including the door locking mechanism." K'Temoc didn't like using nick-names of people he really didn't know, like his brother he was more formal for the most part, but he knew Lasky preferred it so...
Fives's response came back. "Consider it done sir. you'll have my reports in two hours."
"Lieutenant Takabe, Ensign Nechayev check security and internal sensor logs, just to make sure no one else accessed that area in the last twenty-six hours.
"On it." Natia said as she brought up the computers internal sensor logs as well as security logs. Then checked the armory logs to make sure everything was still their and the bomb wasnt made from scratch.
Nuala studied her screen. "Nothing unusual so far. Of course, I don't know what to look for exactly."
K'Temoc nodded to Takabe, "Neither do I right now...anything that would cause the turbolift doors to lock as they did."
"Gillo, look through Engineering logs, see if there were any power system over loads or bypasses in that section of the ship that would correspond with the time of the accident."
"Yes,sir." Holly let her hands fly across the operations panel like she had that thing in her hands since birth. She was going to figure out one way or another what was in the engineering logs that might have caused the issue.
Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Captain, one thing.. we will arrive at the range in about six hours, do you want to stop and find out or find out en route?" she inquired, she didn't know her commanding officer and she had no idea how he thought.
"En route. I don't believe this was sabotage but a system's issue. On the off chance someone is behind this, I don't want to give them reason to think we might be onto them." K'Temoc replied.
Yamaguchi nodded. "Yessir. I might be just paranoid but I'd prefer to be sure for certain..." she explained evenly as she recalled the age old saying. 'Just because your not paranoid doesn't mean they are not put to get you.'
It was about this time that she had the logs up and were looking through them. "Captain," she paused for only a brief moment to let her hands work more, "you might want to come over here and see this." That was normally code for the fleeters that something was found but not wanting to be shared out loud. She knew this and knew that the Captain of the ship would come over and see for himself what she was seeing.
