Personality & Traits

General Overview Nuala has an easy going personality. She can be something of a conformist. Likes to get along with others and doesn't like drawing attention to herself.

Nuala is proud to be a scientist. She thinks the pursuit of science is Star Fleet's highest purpose. A view she does not mind sharing with non science types. Often her attitude unintentionally can rub other personnel the wrong way and come off as conceded.

Nuala is reluctant to talk about her Orion background.

Aware of the impact of Orion pheromones, Nuala is celibate.
Strengths & Weaknesses Analytical and thorough. Nuala can be resourceful and full of ideas.

Physically brave and always volunteers for away teams or boarding parties.

Personal History Nuala was born into a crime family. In her early life she was exposed to a lot of lies, double talk, and back stabbing. At five she began her training as a courtesan. She was trained in etiquette, dancing, and hand to hand combat. She was conditioned to be obedient. She was sold into slavery by her family when she was thirteen.

After a year of service, her master's yacht was ambushed by renegade Klingons. They brought her to an unaligned backwater world in the Triangle. There, two xeno biologists were exploring the planet. Dr. Lilian Takabe had sympathy for the young Orion girl. Dr. Takabe bought her and adopted her. This was against the wishes of Takabe's partner, Dr. Vrak Trohnar (a Vulcan).

At first the transition was tough for Nuala. She wasn't sure if Lilian's affection for her was real or some sort of ruse. Her life did improve. She oddly found herself attached to Vrak first.

Vrak was very strict with her. Nuala disliked it at first but found she needed the consistency. No clever deceptions or ruses. Vrak was as he presented himself. He was also immune to Nuala's pheromones, which helped build trust.

Her trust with Lilian was slower to build. When it did it was very strong.

Her new parents took her on their expeditions.
Service Record 2380- Cadet cruise on board the survey vessel USS Edison.

2381- 2383- USS Bolivar, a patrol cruiser stationed near the Gorn Hegemony. The Bolivar saw combat during the brief war with the Hegemony. The ship was in four different engagements and only suffered minor damage. Ensign Takabe was often added to search and rescue parties.

2383-2386- USS Kelvin, doing scientific inquiries near Cardassian Union.

2386-2390- Ashoka Station, a science station near the Cardassian/Romulan border.
