Family time

Mission: Episode 121 - "Where There's A Section, There's A Way"
Location: Wayne Quarters

Ariana arrived home after her daily shift, having stopped off to collect both of her children enroute she smiled as she watched 5 year old Stacie run off to her room to play. Putting Andrew down so her one and a half year old could follow on after his sister she walked over to the replicator to get herself a drink.

It had been a rather long day the shop had been swamped with orders customers wanting both legal and somewhat questionable modifications done to private shuttles and everything in between. He was tired he knew he was tired and tired people make mistakes so he had decided to call it a day his shop hands could handle anything that came up and unless it was a special request from the admiral he had left word he was not to be disturbed.

Walking into their quarters he said just loudly enough to be heard by the kids "Honey I am home." barely making it to the couch before getting grapple hugged by his daughter and son. Looking across the room he saw his wife sure she had been back for a while now but he had always gotten home before her so to see her there was a slight shock."Sorry" he mouthed as he proceeded to tickle his kids and slowly let the stress of the day wash away from his mind. He was home now and home was perfect.

Ariana grinned watching the children and their father playing, it was something she missed when she was off station. The last six months had proven to her that she wanted to be on the station, not off it on whatever mission happened to crop up. “Long day?” She asked as she got up and walked over to Cameron. “You look tired.”

"Yah long and honestly more then a little intense. I will tell you all about it once I get these two wore out a little." Said Cameron as Stacie jumped on his back wrapping her arms around his neck.

Ariana grinned. “You’re a glutton for punishment Imzadi.” Getting up she headed to get him a welcome home drink ready for when he’d finished playing.

"Maybe I am at that but I can honestly say if this is a punishment then you could sentance me to life in priision without parole." Said Cameron as he picked up Andrew and tossed him into the air catching him and spinning him around twice.

Hearing the squeels of his children he just let himself enjoy the moment knowing that such things would not last. A few minutes later with the kids tuckered out and now resting in their beds he walked back into the living room.

Well now that the rugrats are asleep I can finally get to spend a little time with my second favorite girl who also just happens to be the absolute love of my life." Said Cameron as he sat down holding the tumbler.

Ariana smiled as she moved closer so she could cuddle up. “Sounds wonderful to me. Actually I’ve been giving things some thought, and I’ve decided I want to be on station more from now on. I spend too much time away from all of you, and if we want a bigger family then I want to be here to enjoy it. I’m going to ask Bremer if I can spend time in Ops when needed.”

"I will not lie to you that sounds great and if it is what you want to do you know I will be very happy as it will mean less work for me. However I also know your career is important to you considering where you stand right now as a Lt. Commander such a change of duty could result in you not getting the last two promotions I’m sure you want." Said Cameron as he wrapped an arm around her pulling her closer to him. "Just know regardless of what you decide to do I will support your decision." He added

Ariana smiled. “I know. To be honest I never really planned to make Captain, I’m a Counsellor not a Starship CO. There’s no rush to make a higher rank. I’m happy right here with you and the kids. Speaking of which are you still wanting us to have a large family, or are you happy as we are?”

"I would love to have a larger family but if I am honest two rugrats at the age those two are is more than enough. Maybe in a couple years we can see about adding more but I am happy where we are at. Of course I do know that accidents happen even in the best planned families so if another one were to come along we would just have to adapt." Said Cameron lightly with a wink, of course if that happens I will have to get some bigger contracts and maybe expand the shop." He added

"Oh did I tell you what happened today honestly I almost called security to deal with the problem. Fortunately the guy took one look at my klingon disruptor and my whip and thought better of his chances. After all I do apparently have a repuutation for making people disappear when they piss me off." He added with a chuckle.

Ariana grinned. “Actually no you didn’t, and I understand where more children is concerned. If you’re happy then I’m happy. We can take time to get everything as we need it before having another baby.” She gave him a curious look. “So just what did happen?”

"This would almost be funny if it were not serious. First let me ask you something. You remember when I left a couple years ago and what I told you when I came back right?" Asked Cameron softly this could go very badly and he knew it but he also knew hiding this was simply not an option where his wife and family were concerned.

Ariana nodded. “I remember.”

"Well a contact from that old life reached out to me he actually came in person which took guts on his part. He wanted me to do some questionable mods to an old Warhammer class runabout. I say questionable because he wanted the weapons systems beefed up as well as the shields. You know I am fully capable of doing that hell I did just that with my own ship." Said Cameron as he took a sip of his whiskey and waited for heis wife to process what he had told her so far wandering if she would stay calm or start screaming that he had to tell security or the admiral.

“I certainly hope you told him just where he could take that request?” Ariana gave her husband a concerned look. “That’s certainly something that could get you into a whole lot of trouble.”

" I told him if he valued his life he had 30 seconds to get out of my shop and an hour to get off of the station. If i saw him again after that time I would kill him where he stood. At the same time I placed that old klingon disuptor I had on the desk, you know the one that only has the kill setting on it." Said Cameron firmly.

“I remember that one” Ariana smiled a wry smile. “So, how did he take it?”

He left in a hurry after that but told me i would regret not doing the job for him. I highly doubt he will ever come back he likely remembers the way my father and older brother did business compared to them I was being down right nice, they would have killed him where he stood." Said Cameron as he took another drink.

“The threat doesn’t bother you?” She asked somewhat concerned by it. “Maybe it would be worth mentioning it to station security just incase?”

"The threat does not bother me for one reason it was made against me not my family me personally. Men like him know exactly what they say and what they mean. By phrasing his threat that I would regret it rather then my family will regret this he made the threat personal. You know me honey i can handle myself. The station security force has an entire station to worry about. And anyway as I said he knows not to come back and by my own actions and words he also knows if anything does happen I am fully capable of wiping out him and his family. I have done it before and he knows that." Said Cameron firmly

“I know that you can take care of yourself Cameron, but I worry about you.” Ariana responded as she looked at him. “It only takes one thing to bring down the toughest of men.”

"Besides who in their right mind messes with a starfleet family especially a marines family your dad would probably do much worse then simply kill him. No if anything you and the kids are safe. The only way anyone would come for you from my past is if a blood feud were declared. Then yes i would have taken things much more seriously. I will take some precautions but an idle threat is not really much concern to me" he finished his drink and poured himself a second.

Ariana nodded. “I have no idea where my father went, he had a mad moment and went off station chasing somebody or something. I never heard from him again. Besides the personality that was created to take over me by section 31 is still in here, she’s a part of me now. I dread to think what would happen if that part of me got loose.”

"Honey it is because of that part of you that I know our family is perfectly safe. Yes section 31 put it in you for reasons I do not want to even guess at but here is the thing. You did not have me or the kids when they did what they did. There is nothing in the galaxy more scary then a mother who will do whatever it takes to protect her family. And then there is our link. I am not telepathic in the least but I have felt your emotions over the link and I am almost positive you have felt mine. After all the closer we are the stronger the link and I bet if we tried I might be able to hear you in my head and maybe you might hear me." Said Cameron softly as he pulled her tight against him.

“I always hear you when you want me to, and I always feel you.” Ariana smiled as she cuddled up. “When we make love I feel our minds intertwine and it’s a feeling I can’t even put into words.”

"And that is why even if you become that person again I know that you will never harm me or our children. our bond coupled with a mothers nature to protect her children means that when we are together there is nothing we can not do.

Ariana nodded. “I am glad that we found each other Imzadi, I never thought I’d find anyone that would mean as much to me as you do.”

"And to think all of this started because I gave a pregnant commader a ride on my wheelchair at a trade conference that by all rights niether of us should have been at." Said Cameron with a chuckle as he remembered their first meeting.

“We were fated to be! Who knew that the donor who provided for me to have Stacey, was you! The universe works in mysterious ways.” Ariana grinned.

"That it does my love that it does." Said cameron with a glint in is eye he stood up and in one smooth motioned picked his wife up off the couch and carried her to the bedroom. They might not be planning for another kid right now but he still wanted the practise.
