Andrew watched the power readings as the impulse engines came online, "Tressa Go... Full impulse straight back to the starbase, no evasive unless we are targeted by one of the pirates. Shields are back to 80%, so should hold for at least one hit".

"Full impluse engaged, Commander," she replied. "ETA is two hours unless we can engage the warp drive, which is still..." she paused, checking the panel again.

"Completely dead. We seem to be off the Dagger class' mind for now, they have engaged the Essex. Sensors show the Blade hasn't moved to follow us."

The Blade class was too busy trading weapons fire with the Essex that they didn't notice, at least, for the moment.

Facing Lokran, "Mr Lokran, how are shields holding up?"

"Shields are still at 85%, Ma'am." said R'nard

Deela once again looked at Lokran, "Mr. Lokran, see if you can force their ship away from the runabout, it should give the runabout more time to move further away."

"Understood. I'll do what I can." said R'nard. He made some preemptory shots trying to herd the ship away, coming closer and closer each time he fired.

Aboard the Dagger, Major Hurd and his marines were in a very heavy firefight. Shouting above the roar of phaser fire, he shouted ''Photon Grenade out!!!'', and sent one sailing down an aft-facing passageway. The fire from that part of the shift ceased for a moment, and Major Hurd said to 3 other marines, ''Go down aft, and take Main Engineering and take care to maintain fire discipline around the core.

The Marines took off, and Major Hurd and his marines paused for a moment. Tapping his combadge, he said, ''Hurd to Command, we are moving to take the Bridge and Main ngineering.'' We have sustained 3 casulties, and request you have medical teams standing by.'' He paused, and fired a short burst down the port passageway, hitting an enemy crewman, and causing him to fall out of sight. Ducking back around the corner, he tapped his combadge and said, '' We will have the ship secure in 15 minutes, and request further instruction."

T'Lar, "Once the ship and bridge is secure, hold the Captain until further orders."

"Acknowledged" Major Hurd said as he tapped his combadge. Re-checking his weapon he said to the other Marines, ''Alright the way I figure it, there are maybe 7 people on the bridge, and maybe 2-3 guarding the approch, so here's what we do''. We take out the guards using whatever force is nesccesary, and blow the doors.'' He pulled a small grenade from his utility pouch and said to Jenkins, one of the 3 Marines with him, ''As soon as the doors blow, pull that pin and throw it into the Bridge, It will disorient them long enough for us to secure them. ''I don't want any of the bridge crew killed, is that understood?'' The three marines replied in unison, "aye aye.'

Major Hurd, before he began his assault on the bridge, checked in with the Marines responsible for securing Main engineering. He was met by the voice of Corp. Stone whom replied, '' Main Engineering is secured sir. There were four enemy KIA and we have taken 7 prisoners, and complete control of engineering.'' ''Aye Corporal, keep things locked down tight, we are beginning our assault on the bridge.

Major Hurd took point as he and his Marines made for the bridge. From around a corner, an enemy crewman jumped at him with a very wicked looking knife, while at the same time two other crewman open fire on the Marines. The crewman with the knife managed to cut up Hurd's face pretty good, and left a deep gash on his right arm. Hurd however, managed to get to his hand phaser, and shot the crewman point blank in the chest. He threw the dead body off of him, and was suprised to find that both of the other crewman were also down, and not moving. Bleeding pretty badly, Hurd turned to his marines, and said, in a booming voice, lets take that Bridge.

The Marines closed to the bridge door, Hurd still bleeding badly. As one Marine was putting plasma charges on the door, Jenkins said, ''Sir, we really should patch you up . Hurd smiled, probably made more hideous by the blood, and said, ''Not untill after we secure the Bridge''. A voice behind him replied, ''Plasma charges in place Major''. Smiling, he and the marines with him retreated around a corner, and Hurd said, ''Blow it!''

As soon as the door's blew, Jenkins tossed the flashbang grenade in, and the Marines turned their heads and covered their ears. After the grenade had went off, Hurd and his marines rushed the bridge, first dis-arming, and then zip tieing each crewman, The enemy ship's Captain was ziptied to his command chair, and Hurd ordered Jenkins to watch him. After confirming with Corporal Stone all was well, he tapped his combadge and said, ''Hurd to command, the ship is secure, I repeat, the ship is secure, requesting assistance as soon as possible; also requesting further orders.'' With those words, Hurd slumped to the deck, still bleeding, fighting to stay conscious. A medic came to examine him.

The Essex continued firing at the Blade class ship as well. Lokran's final shot disabled the ship."Great job Mr. Lokran."

The Essex checked to make sure that the shuttle was well on its way back to Starbase 400. No one noticed that the Blade class ship was now drifting towards the Klingon border. T'Lar also had no idea that Hurd was injured.

"Major Hurd, be prepared to take the ship to Starbase 400."

Tapping his combadge, Major Hurd said, in a weak voice, ''Aye Aye Ma'am.'' Closing his eyes for an instant, he felt the small hiss of a hypospray. He looked up, and saw that the medic attending him was just laying down a hypospray. The medic smiled, and David lay there, gazing at all that was going on around him.

"Admiral T'Lar, Major Hurd has been injured. Requesting emergency beam out."

"Acknowledged. T'Lar to Sickbay, stand by to receive Major Hurd. He has been injured."
