Mission: Episode 106 – Stalemate

Ariana made her way home after a long morning of Counselling appointments. Now lunchtime was here it would give her a chance to speak to Cameron, as she promised Rol she’d do.

It had been a very long few days for cameron since his return from freecloud. the fact that he returned not only with a new ship but a romulan runabout as well still shocked him. Now though the improvements were nearing completion and soon he would have the Dakota A ready to go. Right now he needed dinner and a little rest after all he was not a young kid anymore and 20 hour days could and did take alot out of him.

Ariana was just approaching their quarters when Cameron appeared heading the same way. “Hey you” She smiled warmly. “It seems like forever since last time I saw you!”

"Well it has been a while I will admit that though have I got a story to tell you." Said Cameron with a wink and a grin.

As they entered their quarters Ariana walked over to the replicator and got herself something for lunch before sitting down. “Okay...so are you going to tell me now or give me a quick rundown?” She tucked into her food as she looked at Cameron.

"Long story short are you a wine or brandy type of girl?" Asked Cameron lightly as he reached into his pocket and pulled out 4 deeds spreading them out on the table as well as a PADD with a bank balance numbering around 14 million credits.

“Wow! Are you kidding me?! You won all this!” Ariana looked at Cameron in shock and surprise. “Imzadi this is amazing!!”

She wanted to celebrate but still had to tell him about her Counselling session with Kaden. “Imzadi I have to tell you something...” She paused. “Long story short I had a Counselling session along with Kaden and Rol. Things between Kaden and I have been pretty strained of late and Rol has made us both realise that we still have feelings for each other.” She looked up at Cameron. “I promise you I have no romantic intention toward Kaden and he doesn’t have any towards me! I love you and that’s not going to change.”

"If I thought there was any chance of that we would have never gotten as far as we have." Said Cameron calmly "And in answer to your question yes I won this we now have a romulan runabout, a Corvette class ship, a winery in france and a distillery that makes saurian brandy. I guess the family luck or curse holds true again." He added with a chuckle.

Ariana grinned. “You are amazing do you know that!! So what kind of condition are the runabout and Corvette class ship in? And when do we get to see this winery in France?”

"Well considering that I came home on the Corvette I would say warp 9.2 is probably her top speed the runabout is also in good shape considering it was a playboy I took it off of. As for the winery in france well I highly doubt your boss will give you time off while there is a war going on. We might just have to wait a while though I did hear that it is located in the same area as the Picard Vineyards are located." Said Cameron lightly.

“So we have two working ships, I’d like to see them, is the Corvette a ship we can use for family holidays and adventures?”

"It is but not right now I am still doing some work on it. Unless that is you want to jin the pirates in the triangle. I did some digging and they use the exact same class of ship." Said Cameron. "The same can be said for the romulan runabout. We could get arrested if we use the damn thing at least inside federation space. It has a cloak and a few other rather illegal goodies that I doubt the empire would want to get out of course the fleet would likely love them. Frankly I was surprised I won the runabout at all." He added.

“Are you sure you weren’t allowed to win it? Maybe some ploy...” Ariana paused. “I take it the runabout has been searched to make sure there’s no stowaways or hidden devices onboard?”

"There is always that chance but it is highly unlikely, and I mean about as likely as a ferengi giving up all desire for profit. How much do you know about a card game from earth called Texas hold'em? ". Asked Cameron calmly

“A little.” She looked at Cameron curiously.

" being a wife or girlfriend of a marine I am going to assume you at least know the name. The gist of it is your self two cards face down and then the dealer drops a total of five cards. Each player makes the best hand he can off of those cards and what he holds. The player I won the runabout from came up with a full house, I just happened to come out with a royal flush as a result he lost the runabout and several million credits.". Explained Cameron calmly, "however that is not going to stop me from at least letting SFI at least access to the computer core and likely let them have the cloak. Hell I might let them have the whole runabout if we can work a trade.". Said Cameron calmly

“I think I’d feel better if you got rid of it to be honest.” Ariana gave him a more serious look. “There’s something about owning anything Romulan that makes me nervous.”

" honestly I am leaning that way as well I think taking to the admiral might be the best bet. He could at least point us in the right direction of who we could talk to.". Said Cameron "anyway I would much more prefer a Danube to that ugly green thing." He added lightly.

“I think I’d prefer that too.” Ariana smiled. “So just what other plans do you have for us?”

"For us right now I got nothing. I would like it though if you could arrange a meeting for me with the admiral. I am aware he is a very busy person but I would really rather be clear of that romulan runabout sooner rather then later. Heck tell him he can bring whoever he wants and I will happily meet him any time or any place he wants." Said Cameron firmly he knew that they both had things they needed to do and when this war was over there would be more then enough time for other things.

“I can try but I’m not making any promises. He’s a busy man these days.” She offered a smile. “I will try especially hard, just for you though.”

"I know love and all I can ask is that you try even if there is nothing on the computer SFI might be able to understand Eomulan engineering a little better after having a hands on model to work with." Said Cameron calmly he really did not want the damn thing and would be more then happy to trade it for a danube or even a couple shuttles of the right type.

Ariana nodded. “I’ll contact him now.” She picked up a PADD and put together a message. “I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything.”
