The not so good news

Mission: Episode 103 - In The Darkest Days...
Location: Wayne family quarters
Timeline: MD2 1245 hrs

{ON}

As Ariana made her way back home with Stacie, her mind firmly on what Hades had said and what she had to do. Her mind drifted back to the previous evening.

~ 1900 hrs ~

Ariana was splurged out on the sofa napping, tiny Stacie fast asleep on her chest protected by Ariana’s arms. After the latest round of trouble from Section 31 she was hell-bound to protect Stacie from it all, no way would 31 ever lay a finger on her. She opened her eyes as she heard Cameron at his desk. “Hey, I didn’t know you were home. When did you get in?”

"Just a few minutes ago but I wanted to get this idea down before I forgot about it. With everything that has been happening recently I am honestly considering finding an old phase pistol and modifing it so we have a unregistered weapon in the house for defense. I know your going to tell me security can be here in minutes if needed but it is those minutes when you and stacie need to be protected the most." Said Cameron from his desk.

Ariana looked at Stacie, sleeping peacefully on her chest. "You're right but you don't have to worry about me, I can take care of myself. I'm a big tough General's daughter remember?"

"How can I forget." Said Cameron lightly. "However your also the mother of my daughter and your going to be my wife. While I know you can handle yourself a little extra peace of mind would be a help." He added softly.

Ariana nodded. "I understand, really I do!"

"I can not wrap you up in a forcefield and I will not hide you away on my ship so I just feel I need to do something." Said Cameron as he glided over to her.

"I know you do my love" She gently wriggled into a slightly more upright position so as not to disturb Stacie. "I'd do anything to protect the two of you, you know that. I take it you're worried about trouble coming our way?"

"Worried no I am not worried I know trouble is coming I am certain of it and since I can not avoid it then it is best to be prepared for it. Between andy or some sick mother like him, my family, and whoever attacked you this last time some of it is heading our way. I have already modified my chair to include a small shield generator not much but enough that I could plug a hull breach if it is not to big or take a few shot from a disruptor or phaser. Trust me if I thought I could get away with it I would have phasers mounted to this chair as well. However I know starfleet would never allow it and there is no way I could concel such an addition anyway." Said Cameron firmly

" The only weapon you need is already here... Me." Ariana paused. "There's something going on in my head that I don't understand, all I know is that it kicks in when I or someone I love is in danger. It's scary and it's frightening but if I have to use it to protect you or our daughter then I will."

"There is only one problem with that thought love. If you can turn it off or on at will what is to say someone could not trigger your gift remotely. Like hypnosis or something were the patient has been subconsiously programmed to do something when a certain event happens maybe a word, maybe a sound or even an image. I have no doubt you could use your gift to do serious harm or even kill and I have no doubt in my heart or my mind that you would use it to protect us. However what can be used to protect can also be used to harm." Said Cameron softly as he stroked stacies cheek

Ariana nodded. "That's what scares me! You always said if you had to you'd lock me away, depending on what turns up in the tests Doctor Hades ran you might have to do just that." She looked at Stacie. "I would never hurt either of you Cameron, no matter what! Besides we had plans for more children and I'm not giving up on those plans."

"Let's focus on something more pleasent shall we." Said Cameron lightly he leaned over and kissed the top of Stacie's head before moving up and kissing Ariana passionately on the lips while running his hand down her side with his thumb just grazing the side of her breast in a way he knew would distract her.

Ariana sighed as she returned Cameron's kiss. "You keep that up and I'll have to put Stacie down in her crib so we can have some alone time." She ran her fingers along his neck and down his chest along shirt buttons.

"Then I will have succeeded in my goal." Said Cameron he knew they both needed a distraction and well sex was one of his favorite at least when he was with the woman he loved. "I have been thinking about something love. I know in my heart that you are the only one for me and I think you feel the same way. What is to stop us from getting married sooner rather then later?" Asked Cameron as he watched her put their daughter down.

"Are you serious?!" Ariana kept her voice low so as not to wake Stacie as she walked back over to Cameron and wrapped her arms around him. "I'd like that Imzadi, I'd like that very much." She kissed him with love and passion.

"Of course I am serious for a couple reasons actually. First it is what I think we both want, second it makes Stacie legitament in the eyes of my family and yours as well I think, third I want to be able to say I am married to the sexiest, most perfect woman in the galaxy. And lastly because I am asolutly head over heels in love with you and I want the whole of the federation to know it." Said Cameron softly.

Ariana smiled the biggest smile yet as she motioned for Cameron to join her in the bedroom while they had chance. "So when would you like to get married?"

"Well since you asked I would say right now but I know that is not really possible. You deserve to have your family there and I would like at least a couple of my family members as well so lets say in a month at the earliest and 2 at the outside." Said Cameron as he followed Ariana into the bedroom.

"Agreed" Ariana smiled as she slipped out of her clothing and into bed, waiting for Cameron to join her. "Roll on then!"


~ Current Time ~

Walking into their quarters Ariana looked at Cameron. "Imzadi, we need to talk." She moved across to sit down. "I have to go off station for a few weeks. Doctor Hades thinks he might know some people who can help me." She looked at Stacie. "I have to...go alone."

"Ok but why. I mean wouldn't it be better for you to have your family with you for something like this." Said Cameron a slight look of confusion on his face. He could understand if this was a mission or transfer but this did not sound like either one and he was worried

" I did ask Hades that, he's only permitted to send me. I don't like leaving you or Stacie, but Hades thinks they can help me and I trust him. I'd be safe with Nivar too."

"I do not like this one bit but considering what it is about well I know this is something you need to do so do it and know that stacie and I will be here when you get back." Said Cameron truth was he was at least a little concerned for her safty in this situation.

"Thank you Imzadi." She gently leant forward and kissed Cameron. "It's not going to be easy being away from either of you.”
