Freya had relaxed just as Hades had told her to, but in the process she'd fallen asleep. She had been tired which was part of the problem alongside being stressed. Opening her eyes she was surprised to see she'd been moved from the hustle and bustle of main Sickbay to a side room in the recovery area, where it was a bit quieter and more private. "Hey..." She smiled as she looked towards Kaden who was sat beside her bed.
Kaden had been reading the test results copy on his PADD clearly happy as can be. He felt this demon that had been plaguing him for weeks was finally vanquished giving him the peace and happiness he desired. Hearing Freya's voice he looked up seeing her smiling at him. "Freya, hey." He said as he leaned forward resting his hand on her forehead.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to go passing out on you earlier." She smiled. "I guess everything just got a bit on top of me. I'm thrilled it's good news about the baby! I really am!"
Kaden smiled back gently running his hand thru Freya's hair. "Me too, I feel so liberated now that I can finally focus on our kid better." He replied.
Freya grinned. "I'm glad about that! I don't want to sound horrible but I'm not sure how much more worrying about what would happen to you and me, I could have taken." She sighed. "I'd have lost my world if I'd have lost you." Just then a doctor Freya hadn't yet met approached them.
"You must be Freya," the woman declared with a kind smile as she approached her patient. "I am Doctor Wilson. How are you feeling?"
Even as she asked the question she was studying the display above the bed, giving a slight nod in approval. Answering, at least partially, her own question.
“Much better thank you” Freya smiled as she looked at Wilson. “Doctor Hades seemed quite concerned about the readings he was getting earlier.”
"Your blood pressure was a concern," Doctor Wilson nodded, glancing at her file, "it was far too high. Now, your readings are much healthier now and I am quite comfortable allowing you to recuperate at home."
Before her patient could speak up, she raised a hand. "However, I will do so only on the condition that you will get plenty of bed rest over the next few days and avoid stress. We will review in a few days to make sure everything has settled. Agreed?"
Her question was aimed not only at Freya, but at Kaden as well. Often patients were far too stubborn on their own but their partners were often best placed to ensure doctor's orders were followed.
"Agreed!" Freya nodded enthusiastically. "I want to attend General Hurd's wedding as he's been very good to us since we arrived here. Plus I'm not going to do anything that jeopardises the health and wellbeing of our baby."
Doctor Wilson sighed, “very well. But no strenuous activity. Understood? And first sign of any trouble, back here.”
Freya looked at Kaden before looking back at Wilson and nodding. "Understood, loud and clear."
"Very well," the woman nodded, updating the PADD she held in her hands. "In that case, you are free to go. We are only a call away. Remember, plenty of rest."
With that she headed away to check in on her next patient.
Sitting up Freya grinned as she looked at Kaden. "What are we sitting here for?, let's go home." Taking Kaden's arm she nodded politely to Wilson as they made their way out of Sickbay and headed home.
