Mission:
Episode 98 - A Raid on Peace
Location: USS Vanguard
Timeline: MD4 - 1245hrs
ON:
Mac arrived aboard the Vanguard shortly after his command crew. He was greeting with smiles and handshakes from everyone on the bridge.
“Glad to have you back sir.” Metsker said as he shook Mac’s hand.
A moment later Tom Vercetti stepped out of the turbolift and onto the bridge. In contract to how MacLeod was greeted, Tom was met with glares.
“Mister Vercetti will be joining us on the mission as an adviser.” MacLeod said a loud. “He has my full support.”
Tom simply gave a nod then walked over to a vacant station and typed in a few commands.
Cross, Metsker, and Carter walked over to Mac as he took his seat in the center chair.
“Sir, what is he doing here?” Cross asked.
“Vice Admiral K’Temoc thinks he’ll be able to help us with finding out what Romulans are doing in the Triangle and why they’ve been having secret meetings with civilian traders.” Mac replied.
“You mean pirates?” Carter replied.
“Vercetti has contacts, hopefully they can help us find out what’s going on.” Mac replied.
“Look, let’s be clear about something.” Tom said as he stood and took a few steps toward the group. “Yeah, I’ve smuggled some things here and there. Yeah, I do have open communications with a few people labeled as pirates and operate within the Triangle. I didn’t ask to be here, I’m not Starfleet anymore, but I know my business and I’m here to help. Commander MacLeod is running this show, I’m just here to lend a hand as needed.”
Mac smirked. “Questions?”
No one said anything, a few looked back at Tom as they returned to their stations. Mac and Tom then shared a nod.
“Alright, we're already leaving more than twelve hours later than the 'old man' wants so let’s get the show on the road. Murphy, release docking clamps and take us out. Engage the cloak and once we’re clear of the station set course for the Triangle, warp five.
“Aye sir.” Murphy replied from Flight Control.
Tom took his seat again at the Mission Operations station. He tapped in a few command and opened a letter to Splendora. ‘Splendora, my dear. I am sorry. Not only for getting thrown into the brig but also for not seeing you after getting out and before leaving. I’ve asked Vito to keep an eye on you while I’m away...I’m not sure how long I’ll be gone either, but please understand this is something I have to do. With love...’ He paused a moment then tapped a key to erase the last two words before tying again. ‘I love you, Tom.’
