Personal History MacLeod was born in Glenfinnan, Scotland in 2352. Raised in a traditional Scottish household, MacLeod (or Mac to his friends), traveled across Europe on Earth. During his travels, Mac learned German and French as well as some Spanish and Italian. Not only did he learn the languages, he learned to respect the customs, food, and traditions. This instilled a desire to explore in Mac that eventually lead him to join Starfleet.

At Starfleet Academy, Mac became good friends with James K'Temoc Bremer, a classmate of his. The two are still good friends today.

While aboard the USS George Washington in 2373, Mac met and fell in love with the ship's Chief Medical Officer, Mutara Romain. After months of dating, the two married.

During this time, Mac became close friends with Admiral Mike K'Wor Bremer, a friendship that still exists today.

Following the end of the Dominion War, while Mac was stationed on Cardassia, he and Mutara separated, the long distance relationship took a heavy toll on on them.

Mac took a leave from Starfleet in 2376, partly to deal with his separation.

When Mac returned to Starfleet in 2381, he was again assigned to the George Washington. Working closely with his ex-wife was difficult, but both of them were professional. However a year later, Mac and Mutara began to rekindle their relationship.

That came to a quick end in 2384 after Mac's demotion. MacLeod ended the relationship this time, saying he didn't want to bring shame onto Mutara, but deep down he was depressed and wasn't sure what to do.

Today, Mac still deals with the demons of his past, but he is learning to live with them as he grows as a person.
Service Record 2368 - Entered Starfleet Academy.

2372 - Graduated Starfleet Academy, assigned to the USS Memphis as a Security/Tactical Officer, attended Starfleet's Advanced Tactical Training course later in the year.

2373 - Assigned to the USS George Washington as Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer. Later, promoted to Lieutenant JG and Chief Security/Tactical Officer following the death of the previous Chief, killed during the Federation/Klingon raid on the Toras III shipyards at the start of the Dominion War.

2374 - Promoted to Lieutenant.

2375 - Transfers to the position of Strategic Operations Officer aboard the USS George Washington. After the War ends, MacLeod is assigned to the Cardassian Occupation Force. He is assigned to the Cardassian Central Command as Starfleet Liaison Officer.

2376 - Promoted to Lieutenant Commander. Following the completion of his duties on Cardassian Prime, Paul MacLeod takes a three year Leave of Absence from Starfleet.

2379 - Paul MacLeod returns to Starfleet, he is assigned to Starbase 375 as Strategic Operations Officer.

2381 - Transferred back to the USS George Washington where he is assigned as Executive Officer.

2384 - Paul MacLeod is demoted to Lieutenant following the ‘Gomor Incident’ in which the USS George Washington confronts a Cardassian Galor Class warship within Federation space. During an away mission to the Cardassian ship, MacLeod is accused of killing the Cardassian Gul without reason which lead to a brief battle between the Cardassian ship and George Washington. While Paul has continued to deny any wrong doing, the Cardassians were able to ‘prove’ intent based on MacLeod’s history with the Cardassians and Gul Stor’k in particular. He is then transferred to the USS Manning as Chief Security/Tactical Officer.

2386 - Paul MacLeod is transferred to the USS Rhode Island as Chief Security/Tactical Officer.

2387 - Paul MacLeod comes up for promotion to Lieutenant Commander again, but the Starfleet Promotion Board denied the promotion even though his record had been spotless since the ‘Gomor Incident’ and Captain Ramon of the Rhode Island and Admiral Zarek Dragon of the George Washington send letters to the board on his behalf. Following the denial of promotion, MacLeod requests transfer to the USS Akagi and the position of Chief Operations Officer in a hope of 'starting clean'.

2388 - Paul MacLeod accepts a transfer to Gateway Station late in the year.

2389 - Paul MacLeod's transfer to Gateway Station is cancelled and he is assigned to a new position at Starfleet Intelligence (assignment classified). Later in the year, MacLeod accepts a transfer back aboard the USS George Washington as XO.

2390 - While the USS George Washington is docked at Starbase 400 for overhaul and systems upgrades, MacLeod served on 'detached duty' with the Starbase 400 Peace Committee to mediate a peace deal between the C'Hakilians and Krazzle. Following his return to Starbase 400, Mac was offered the position of XO aboard the USS New Hampshire. While it will be hard to say goodbye to the USS George Washington again, Mac was looking forward to new opportunities aboard the USS New Hampshire.

2394: After four years as the Executive Officer of the USS New Hampshire, Mac accepted a transfer to Starbase 400 to take on the position in the Special Operations Group as the Alpha Team CO and Commanding Officer of the USS Venator.
