Timeline: Day 10 - after Surprising News Part 1
Ariana was lying back on the biobed resting while she waited for news of when she'd be allowed out of sickbay when Zeke arrived she was surprised to see Zeke walking over to her biobed she was expecting the Falcon to have departed the station for another assignment. "Commander..." she offered a tired smile.
Zeke walked over to her. His first thought was, how are you feeling. But that would be a stupid thing to ask at a time like this. He walked closer to her bed, and noticed Cadet Mattson in the room. "I wanted to stop by, once I heard. I hope that's alright." He asked, as he gazed at her, trying to figure out what had happen to her.
"That's very kind of you Sir" she motioned for him to sit where he could she could sense he was a little curious as to what had happened. "I err...." She looked at Marcus then back at Zeke, "I lost one of my twins, the doctors saved my life as well as that of my other baby."
Marcus was sitting on the edge of her bed, his hand on her stomach, hoping it would help her in a small way.
"I'm sorry to hear that, my heart goes out to you. Anything I can do for you?" He asked, feeling a little helpless at the moment. Zeke's heart went out to her. He could only sympathize with her situation.
"You're doing it just by being here Sir" Ariana smiled looking towards Marcus then back at Zeke, "I appreciate that you've come to see me."
"It's the least I can do." Zeke said, as he looked over to Marcus. "How are you holding up?" Asked Zeke, who never expected these two to be an item. But they did share a living space for the past few days on the Falcon.
"About as can be expected" she was gripping Marcus' hand tightly trying to keep herself together, "I'm not sure I'd be doing as well as I am without Marcus."
"I didn't do anything other than getting you here and watching over you after." his mechanical arm resting on her stomach. He hoped she didn't mind.
"That means everything to me" she rested her hand gently on his mechanical arm. It felt reassuring somehow almost as if she felt he was protecting her baby simply by having his hand on her stomach.
"All I ask is if you ever need Marcus' flying abilities again you bring him back safe to me Commander" she looked at Zeke..
"I will do my best, he is a good man and a great pilot." Said Zeke with a smile on his face. He started to wonder, if he was over staying his welcome. He could tell that she was safe now. It was sad that she lost one of the babies. But she was doing better now. And she had Marcus to assist her.
Ariana smiled at Marcus she knew he was easily embarrassed so she had no doubt he'd be well embarrassed at having such a compliment from Zeke, "Once I'm back at work I'd be only too happy to assist aboard the Falcon again if you need a Counsellor" she smiled warmly.
"I would be honored." He said, with a big smile. "At the moment though, lets focus on your health. You are always welcome on the Falcon. Just for the record. You both are." Said Zeke. As he started to think about leaving, to give these two some alone time.
"Thank you Sir" Ariana couldn't help but blush.
"I'll take my leave, but if you need anything do not hesitate to call. We will be on station. Get some rest Ariana, you too Marcus." Said Zeke, trying not to make that an order.
"Thank you Commander" Ariana smiled.
Marcus saluted. "Yes sir, thank you sir."
Zeke smiled as he made his way to the door, they swished open. As he stepped through. He made his way to his quarters, he assumed Anna would be waiting for him there.
