Hurd Quarters

Jewel had already been up and gotten dressed in civilian clothes since they were still off duty. She had slept better last night then the night before since David was by her side. She still had her hair down from her normal braid, she had already had breakfast on the table and ready she walked back into the room to still find David sleeping. She chuckled, as she walked to his side of the bed and sat down.

Jewel ran her hand through his hair and kissed him, "Morning my love breakfast is ready and we have that counseling session in about an hour." She said looking at him as she sat their.

''Ugg, You mean this early?''

"Yes love this early, the only time she had available love." She said with a smile. She gently kissed his neck trying to wake him up one way or another. "Don't make me get ice cold water to dump on you." She said jokingly. "Come on lets eat I am starving love, and before it gets cold." she said looking at him.

Groaning, David got up, threw his uniform on, and wolfed his food down. Looking at Jewel he said, ''Are you ready?''

"David, were off duty no need for a uniform. Wear something more comfortable enjoy the day off without having to put it on love." She said looking at him.

''I do not own any off duty clothing'', He replied, chuckling.

"Yes you do love, ya got a whole drawer full." She said as she opened a drawer full of civilian clothes. "See," she said with a smile.

''Do i really have to wear that stuff?'', David said pulling himself to the side of the bed.

She gives him the pouty face look, "Please babe" She said as she looked at him.

''Fine'', he said, pulling on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

She kissed him and then they walked out of the quarters headed towards Sage's shop.

Splendora's Shop

They made it their and told the receptionist that they were here to see Sage and they had an appointment. They both awaited to be called back.

Lai'lira had been turned around when the couple came in and they asked to see Splendora. She turned and smiled at Jewel. "Welcome!" She got up and went over to give the woman a hug. "Can you believe I already got a job!"

She smiled and hugged her back, "That is great I am sure you will like working here." She said with a smiled, "glad everything has worked out for you Lai'lira." She said as she was getting a weird look from her husband. "David this is Lai'lira she will be staying on the station, she was one of the defectors, long story on that one. Lai'lira this is my husband David," she said looking at her with a smile.

Lai'lira smiled. "Nice to meet you." She held her hand out to David.

Shaking her hand, David said in his ice cold Marine voice, ''Nice to meet you as well''.

"Can you both have a seat I'll get Splendora...Um... don't say anything about how she looks though."

She raised an eyebrow and looked at David as she walked away to get Sage.

"Splendora, the Hurds are here."

Splendora gave a nod. "I'll be right out."

Lai'lira smiled and headed back out. She walked over to the couple. "She'll be right out. Can I get you some drinks or munchies?"

"I am fine," She said as she looked at her "We just ate not that long ago." She added with a smile as they waited.

Splendora had had to beg Hades and to let her out this morning. She felt like crap but she needed to work. She grabbed her notebook and her pen and steeled herself. She walked slowly to the front and greeted the couple. She knew that she was an awful sight. Her neck was covered in purple bruises hand prints from the strangulation attempt, her lip was still swollen and scarred, she was pale and had a black eye, the cut above her eyebrow was healed but the area was swollen and she walked with a limp favoring her left leg and holding her side which still killed. She had to go in today for another shot. The Osteo- regenerator had helped with the broken ribs but they still hurt. "Hello folks." She tried to sound light.

She looked at Sage and seen how she looked, "Are you alright?" She asked looking at her with some concern." She said looking at her then looking at David then back at Sage.

Sage smiled awkwardly. "I'm fine thanks. Come on back you two." She limped forward.

"You sure don't look it, no offense." Jewel said concerned about Sage. They got up and headed into her office. They both sat down together on the couch.

"I'll heal in time. I just might have to pause for water." She rubbed her throat. She hated that the man's hand prints were bruised into her throat. "So how did you all do on the homework for me?"

She gulped a bit, she had totally forgot about the questionnaire that she had given her. "Um....I totally forgot about it, spent last night with David making up that it slipped my mind." She said as she looked sad because she forgot. She looked at David then back at Sage.

Sage smiled. "Well since it was for a good cause I will grant an extension. So tell me what happened."

"Well, I decided I would make the first move and apologize more the break down and apologized. We talked and decided that we need to work things out." She said looking at Daivd, "We been through to much to end things now over my stupidity." She added as she squeezed her husbands hand a little letting him know how much she did love him.

"We realize that it be a good idea to seek counseling for awhile to work this out." She added looking back at Sage.

''Not to mention i have a temper and a mouth myself'', David added.

"We all know that David," She said trying to sound serious but cracked a smile. She then whispered in his ear "I love you," she said then looked back at Sage.

Splendora could sense the love between them. "Well the fact that you love each other was evident in both your solo sessions yesterday. You took a huge step talking, making up, and coming here. You both do have a temper, and a potty mouth so I want to have a few sessions and I want us to work together on learning how to properly express things to one another without hurting words or violence but I need a commitment from both of you. Can I count on that?"

''You have my word''

Jewel just nodded, "yes." She said looking at her.

"Now let's keep things light today. David you're going to talk first. I want you to start by telling Jewel why you married her. Jewel no interruptions. In what you tell Jewel you have to find three qualities that she had when you married her that she still has. If there are more then three so be it. List them too."

''I married her because i love her, her zest for life, and her fighting spirit''.

Sage chuckled then groaned as her side hurt. "Okay short and sweet. Now Jewel. You respond and tell him how you felt hearing that." She barely let the words out and took a few breaths to ease the pain in her side.

She looked at Sage for a second to make sure she was alright, then she looked at David, "Babe it made me feel good hearing you say that." She said as she looked at him and smiled then slipping him a kiss on the cheek.

Sage smiled. "Now Jewel you tell him why you married him and find three qualities that he had when you married him that you still love about him and he still has."

She looked at him and held his hand, "I married him because he is my soul mate, I love him." She started as she looked him in the eyes, "He still my soul mate," she added as she thought for a moment, "He's a great father, he can put up with me," she smiled at that one but then looked at him. "He fights for what he wants and doesn't give up. I be lost without him in my life, that night we spent apart was the worst night of my life. I couldn't sleep, eat or anything. So, what I am trying to say is David completes me and I don't know what I do without him by my side." She added looking at him.

Sage looked to David. "You can respond now and since Jewel touched on my next exercise about what a night apart felt like you can tell her what it felt like for you."

''To keep it short and sweet, it was pure hell'', David said, looking at the floor.

She looked at David, she took her hand and gently placed it on his chin and raised his head up to look her in the face. She kissed him gently, "I love you David." She said softly as a tear ran down her face.

Splendora felt warmed by the love between the two. It was a true love story. She sniffed a bit and grabbed a tissue. "Okay this never happens. Therapists don't cry but I am part Betazoid and I sense how much love is in your hearts. We are going to fix this. I promise you both that."

She smiled, and looked at Splendora and smiled. "I guess we can be your first?" She asked looking at her.

Splendora smiled. "Yes you are the first couple who's made me cry. Now homework time. In addition to those questionnaires I want you to keep a daily journal but I want you to write it as if you were writing to one another. So David you will write letters to Jewel and you, Jewel, to him. So Jewel you would write about you day, the feelings that came up, write about what David did that was sweet and caring if he annoys you write down what he did and how it made you feel. David you do this too but for Jewel. No peaking at one another's PADDs. In addition I want you each to plan a romantic date and write what it would be like then bring it all back here in three days. Three days and one more thing."

''I see'', David said''

"Sounds alright to me," Jewel said as she looked at David then back at Sage.

"Every day you spend six minutes in the morning holding one another. Jewel you will start by letting David hold you for three minutes and then David you will let Jewel hold you. Silent exercise. If tears come let them come." She paused. "So. Deal?"

She nodded, "Sounds good." Jewel replied as she laid her head on his shoulder.

Sage smiled. "Just one more thing. By counselor's orders you are off today. Spend it together. Intimacy encouraged." She waggled her eyebrows suggestively which didn't look good considering she had a black eye.

She chuckled, "that's how I ended up in this situation." She said as she looked down at her swollen pregnant belly.

Splendora smiled. "Well alright then kids. I'll see you in a few days and we'll go through all this and see how you did on your homework. Sound good?"

''Sounds good to me, Jewel?'', David said looking at her.

She just nodded, as she looked at both David and Sage.

Splendora sighed. "Alright. Class is done for now." She smiled and stood groaning as her side stretched. She sat back down. Maybe she should go back to sickbay.
