| Personal History | Splendora is the youngest of three kids. She was born on Betazed to a very traditional mother who was very much the matriarch to all outside eyes. Her father, a Starfleet Marine was stationed on Betazed as a Starfleet liaison and because of the fact that Betazoid society is very female inclined he felt less of a man. He was always emotionally distant from his kids and as a result Splendora didn’t have a good male remodel growing up. There were times where he would be absent for months at a time and when she was very young she figured out that her father was having an affair on her mother. Her father always made her feel like she was not good enough. Her mother on the other hand was the appearance of confidence, an ambassador and daughter of a sacred house. Everyone admired her and thought her to be the best woman ever. However, the reality was not that. At home she was moody and depressed and seemed to favour her older daughter to Splendora whom was seen as an unwanted child. She could, in fact, be downright mean sometimes commenting on Splendora’s weight and adding to the girl’s low self-esteem. Other times she was depressed and pessimistic and added a lot of stress on Splendora. Splendora’s siblings: Her brothers were always distant and although they loved their little sister kept a distance so that they would not loose favour with their parents. Her sister Holly was downright mean and nasty to her. Splendora grew up feeling alone and unloved. She often kept to herself and excelled in her studies. When she was 16 years old she ran away from home and snuck onto a Romulan ship that had come to negotiate with Betazed. She found herself on Romulan Colony Mogai. She was homeless for a year living in shelters there and then one day she was taken in by Eviess S’Kiell a Psychologist and Psychiatrist on the colony. For the first time she felt loved and as if she mattered and she then decided that she would study what Eviess did. At 18 she went to Earth and lived in London studying Psychiatry and Psychology. Upon graduating and taking a Starfleet bridge course for counseling she went off to Tibet to study new age medicine and herb- ology. She also got a degree as a naturopathy, and is a registered crystal and sound therapist. She also has a Federation diploma in hypnotherapy and has consulted with Starfleet on several cases. She saved all her money working small dead end jobs and with the help of Eviess and her own savings she completed all the forms and got all the licensing to work on Starbase 400 where she is about to open her own business. |
