Bad News

Mission: Mission 85 - Q-uality Time Aboard Starbase 400
Location: Quarters

Jewel was sitting in her quarters alone for the moment she was waiting for David to get off duty. Her computer beeped, she raised an eyebrow and went to the computer. She turned it on and seen a message from her Aunt on Earth. She usually never sends her messages unless Jewel contacts her. She knew something was up.

She read the message then a tear ran down her face, she slammed her fist on her desk and growled just as David walked in there quarters.

David walked in, and saw Jewel crying and growing at her computer terminal. He walked over, wrapped his arms around her, kissed her, and attempted to wipe away her tears as he said, "Baby whats Wrong?"

She push him away as she got up she punched the wall as she went into the bedroom, she was angry, hurt, upset. "They can't be.....they just can't...." she said crying

David followed her into the bedroom and said, "Hunny please tell me whats going on."

"I received a letter from my Aunt back on Earth, the one who was taking care of my twins." she said as she paused. "My babies were on there way here when the transport malfunctioned and self-destructed...." she said as she stated crying again.

"No one made it out alive...." Jewel said laying there crying. "There investigating the accident. After the wedding I need to go back to Earth...for few days...." Jewel said.

David felt himself start to cry, and he went over and lay next to Jewel , holding her tightly while she cried, and wile the tears rolled down his face. He hated to see the woman he loved so much in so much pain.

She laid her head on his chest and just held him close, "why.....why could this happen." she said in tears, then she became very angry and pushed away from David and walked out of there quarters down the corridor. She needed to release some anger so she went toward the holodeck.

David left a few steps behind Jewel, so as not to make her angrier. He followed her to the holodeck, and slid inside before the doors closed. He was determined to help Jewel any way he could, and if taking her anger out on the holodeck, then so be it. David Loved Jewel, and would help in any way possible.

She looked over and seen David and got angry, "What are you doing here? Do you always got to follow me around like a lost puppy?" she yelled pissed off she came here to get away from everyone to calm down. "I came here to get away from everyone!" she yelled at him pissed off.

Davids face twisted, and he said, in a voice that was a little angry.'' I was worried about you?'' He paused and then said, ''Is that a crime?''

She as already angry without thinking she grabbed him by his uniform picked him up and threw him across the room. She was so angry, "doesn't mean you got to follow me around! There is one thing you will learn about me real quick. When I am angry that's a clue to leave me alone until I can calm down." She yelled as she was so pissed off at this point.

"Computer run program Dartt-2-Alpha-3," she said as the Bat'leth appeared as well as a group of Klingons. Which she put on hold for the moment.

David flew into his fighting stance, and looked at Jewel. His eyes narrowed as he said, ''That was un called for!'' I am done do you hear me?'' He said ''Exit'' and as he was walking out, he said, '' I am Done., I am packing my stuff up, do you hear me?''

"Computer run program," Jewel stated as she started and started fighting, she spent the next thirty minutes fighting trying to calm down. After she was finished and calmed down enough she stopped the program and realized what she had done.

"What have a I done...." she said as a tear ran down her face again. She ran as fast as she could when she reached her quarters she seen David packing. "David....my love....I am sorry don't leave." She said as tears ran down her face. "I love you....I don't want to loose you." Jewel stated looking at him.

David turned from packing his bag, and saw Jewel standing there with tears running down her face. Instantly, all the anger in his body fled away, and he stood and embraced jewel, kissing her and wiping the tears from her eyes. He said, ''Jewel, i love you, i over reacted and said things i did not mean.'' He kissed her again, and said, ''Jewel, i will never leave you.''

"I shouldn't have done that," she said hold him feeling really bad she fell to her knee's and just started crying. She didn't know what to do at this point. She looked down at her now growing stomach and placed her hand gently there feeling her unborn son. "It's a boy," she stated as she forgot to tell him.

David knelt down beside her, his mouth agape. ''A boy? thats great news''. He placed his hand atop of Jewel's and said, ''Its okay hun, i am not mad and i understand why you did what you did.'' He added, ''I love you''.

She smiled, "I love you David more then anything in the world, since I have meet you you made me feel happy, knowing that someone could love me like you do. I can't wait to be married and to be Mrs David Hurd." She said sat there looking at him.

"I know I'll get over this, expecially with your help. I just need to understand that. But please next time just give me my space when i am angry. I don't want to hurt you again." she said as she looked at him. "But after our wedding I will be talking to Mike requesting a short leave of absence for a few days." She stated.

David smiled and said, ''Jewel i understand, and you did not hurt me.'' ''And if i can ask, what is the leave for?''

"I need to go back to Earth, to find peace and lay them at rest. They found the bodies on the planet after escape pod crash landed on the planet. There bringing them back to Earth it will be a few weeks before they will be laid to rest." She said, "I received another message from my aunt while in the holodeck." Jewel said looking at him

David looked downward and said, ''I see. If you are heading to earth, do you wand me to go with you?'' He paused and then added, ''I could ask the Admiral to take the Saratoga, as she has not been out in open space for a while, and would get you to earth alot quicker.''

She smiled, "Thanks for the offer but I got to do this on my own." Jewel stated "I will be requesting Mike if I could take my old ship which is still docked here on the station as a reserved ship." Jewel said as she walked into the bedroom and got ready for bed.

David sat down on the couch, and said, ''Alright hun.'' He took his boots off, and placed them at the end of the couch. He went to run his hand through his hair, but he felt somthing wet, and pulled his hand nack to see that it was coverd in blood. Glancing sideways to make sure Jewel was not looking, he wiped his hand on his uniform, and ran it through his hair again. And again it came back coverd in blood. David sighed, and said in a quiet voice, ''Oh Boy.''

She came out and looked at David and walked up to him, "Oh no," she said as she noticed the blood on his head she walked back into the bedroom pulled out a dermal re-generator and a wet wash cloth. "Now hold still," she said as she used the wash cloth and gently cleaned the area then used the dermal re-generator to repair the gash. "There all better my love, sorry" not realizing she had threw him that hard.

David smiled at her and said, ''Hun, it was not that bad, i have had alot worse'', he said as he rubbed the scar on his face.

"I know but I love you," she said as she yawned. "Now I think it's time for bed I am exhausted." Jewel stated looking at him.

He looked at her and said, I agree hun.'' He stood up, and walked over to his dresser, pulled out a hypospray, and programed it to deliver a mild sedative. Afterwards, he put the hypo down, looked at Jewel, and said, ''Hun, lets head to bed.''

They both climbed into the bed Jewel cuddled next to David with her head on his chest. She listened to the beat of his heart and fell asleep on him.

David watched Jewel fall asleep, and he himself dozed off, thinking of her.
