Mission: Mission 85 - Q-uality Time Aboard Starbase 400
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: A day after 'The Klingons are Coming'

ON:

It had been a few days since the peace talks ended and as usual life
aboard Starbase 400 had returned to its normal day in, day out hum-drum
pace.

It was 0500 hours and Admiral Bremer was in Ops looking over long range
sensor reports of activity along the Federation and Krazzle border, as
well as the C’Hakilian and Krazzle border. Things had simmered down in the
area. Relief and Transport convoys hadn’t reported any contact with
Krazzle ships, however Pirate activity in the area had increased. It
wasn’t clear if these were some of the Pirates that once operated in the
Triangle looking for new spoils, or a new group looking for bootie.

Mike leaned back in the chair for a minute, but before he could stand
several alarms stated to go off around Ops…

“Admiral, we have an alert on the station’s primary reactor…it’s in an
overload status!” Archer reported from the Operations Station.

Mike tapped his commbadge, but it clearly didn't open a channel. He then
tapped the comm button on the station he was at, again, no channel opened.
“Comms are out.” He then tried to send a message to the ships in space
dock, but it didn't go through either.

“Space doors are jammed closed, I can’t override!” Archer then reported.

“Thirty seconds to a core breach.” Roebuck reported as he looked over
systems.

“Emergency beam out, all personnel, transport them to the surface of Kaleb
IV.” Mike then ordered as he looked over the Engineering Station’s
readings.

“Transporters are offline now too.” Roebuck said as he slammed his fist
onto the panel.

Yamaguchi meanwhile was holding her silence as she was busy downloading all of the stations computer cores onto the computer cores of as many of the bases suport craft as she could, only to find the system had refused her access, normally it self 'request denied' but this time it said 'live long and prosper'.

The seconds ticked away down the zero, then the lights went out in Ops. A
moment later, the lights and all systems came back online. Everyone looked
around the room and at their consoles.

“Report!” Mike said as he also looked over things.

“All systems normal Sir.” Archer reported with a confused tone.

“Core is normal, space doors and transporters are online.” Roebuck added.

A moment later, Admiral Bremer’s Yeoman entered Ops from the turbolift
with her usual smile on her face. She took a few steps in, then stopped
and looked around at everyone clearly still trying to comprehend what just
happened.

When Mike saw Petty Officer de Luca, he walked over to her, “Did anything
strange happen while you were in the turbolift?”

“No sir.” She replied with a smile.

Mike put his hands on his hips as he looked around, “Archer, run a full
diagnostic of all systems in Ops.” He then tapped his comm-badge, and the
channel opened.

“Bremer to Coleman, check the Station’s Primary Reactor and power grid for
any abnormalities.”

"Aye, aye, sir. Can I ask why? I'm all greenlights down here." Coleman said over the comms.

“Nevermind.” Mike replied, leaving it like that or now.

An hour went by, everything seemed to be operating normally. Admiral T’Lar
had arrived in Ops, as had Gillo, K’Temoc, Lokran, La Baron, Harrison,
Varn, and a few others when suddenly, alarms started to sound again.

“Report.” Mike called.

“It’s not the core this time.” Archer replied.

“It’s the station itself, its orbit is decaying. Maneuvering and stability
thrusters are offline.” K’Temoc announced.

"Sensors are malfunctioning, I can't clear them." Yamaguchi commented.

“Internal communications are offline.” Varn reported next.

“Roebuck, get to the Engineering level, make sure this is another
‘glitch’.” Mike said.

Roebuck walked for the turbolift, but the doors wouldn't open.

Jewel was sitting in her office when she got up and tried to go out her door and the doors wouldn't open, "What the...." she said to herself then she tried tapping her combadge but nothing no beep nothing. She was getting upset at this point.

David Noticed the doors not opening, and proceded to kick them untill a crack wide enough opened to let him through. He then took off running twards Jewel's office, and yelled, "Jewel, are you ok?!''

"Yes I am fine," Jewel stated annoyed more then anything.

"Impact in Five minutes... The system has locked me out of the orbital stabilization thrusters." Yamaguchi's voice.

Several minutes went by as the crew in Ops scrambled around trying to
verified the problem and fix it, but at every turn they were blocked by
something…a system malfunction or lack of access.

"Impact in Sixty Seconds.... I can't get power for anything.." Yamaguchi again

Then finally, just before the Station would hit the atmosphere of Kaleb IV, everything returned to normal. All systems online and the
Station’s orbit right where it should be.

“What the hell is going on around here?!” Mike said aloud as he looked
around.

Deela could feel the confusion, frustration and tension around OPS. She too found herself frustrated at the situation.

Lee was sitting in his office going over reports when he felt the emotions from a lot of people in Ops. He put his datapadd down and headed to see what was going on.

Yamaguchi sighed softly, this was turning into an intresting morning, first it had been the bases self destruct and then the base falling out of the sky, what was up next?.

As everyone checked to make sure everything was well, another alert beeped.

“Admiral…you’re not going to believe this…but ALL of the vessels that were
docked within our internal bay are now free floating in space around the station. Space doors have been closed the whole time.” Archer reported.

“Do we have comms this time?” Mike asked.

“Yes, comms are up.” K’Temoc replied.

“Open the space doors, and send a message to all ships with crews aboard
to make their way back to their berths within the Station’s bay, and to
tractor a vessel with them that doesn't have crew aboard. Send the
Stations tugs to assist.” Mike ordered as he walked to one of the windows
in Ops and looked out. He could clearly see all of the ships free floating
as some powered up and stated maneuvering. The Pegasus, Gladiator,
Venator, Essex, Sar’Cho, and Luna among them. Even the nearly completed Yorktown-F was floating in space…

Mike then turned back and looked over at Lokran, “Have Security Teams
assigned to all vital areas and patrolling all decks. Get Colonel Hurd to
have his Marines doing the same.”

"I am on it, sirr." said R'nard. He gave the alert, sending the security teams and Marines to their respective places.

Mike then walked over to T’Lar and motioned for Harrison and K’Temoc to
join him. “What do you think?”

“System malfunctions would explain the earlier two…incidents, but not
this.” K’Temoc replied.

Alex stood there in thought, "I'd have to agree with K'Temoc."

For Deela, this felt all too familiar which led her to a crazy thought. She almost dismissed the thought but there was no other logical explanation and she didn't believe in ghosts, "This is going to sound crazy coming from me but all of this reminds me of an obnoxious omnipotent being that I've dealt with in the past." She had to put up with his not-so-funny practical jokes during the early years of her command of the Essex.

“Q!” Mike replied. “You really think he’s behind this? He hasn't tormented
a Starfleet crew like this in decades. The last time I saw him, he dressed as Santa Clause and brought Christmas gifts for the Pegasus’s crew. Then he was reported aboard USS Voyager again with his ‘son’, Q2. Again, none of the mischief he was known for aboard the Enterprise-D after his initial encounters.”

“Starfleet has also encountered other beings with Q-Like powers in the
past…but nothing in recent memory, and nothing like this within the last
century.” K’Temoc added.

“Sorry to interrupt, but we just had a report of ‘Dinosaur’ in the
Arboretum.” Roebuck informed Bremer.

Mike shook his head, turned around and yelled, “Q!! Stop this nonsense!”

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she slowly turned her head. "Guys.... we're not alone..."

A few moments later, Ops lite up with a blue/white flash as an older Human
looking man in a crisp Starfleet Uniform appeared. He clearly wasn't the Q
they all knew and/or read about.

Bremer looked the figured up and down, and noticed the pips on his collar.
It was six gold Admiral’s pips, but of course there was no such rank in Starfleet. Fleet Admiral was the highest Rank in Starfleet, and that was five gold pips.

For Yamaguchi, she narrowed her eyes as she all but growled angrily at Q. "I should have known it was you!" she looked downright enraged as Q sighed. "My dear.." and with that her uniform turned into something more appropriate for one of Santa's little helpers, it was a red elfish costume as
Torilla realized with a sigh that her uniform was suddenly much lighter then it had been before. "enough Q.!"

“Are you responsible for the…incidents aboard my Station?” Mike directly
asked.

The figure smiled and tilted his head, “Hmm, you could say that. I’m
Q…well not Q, but Q…ah you get the idea.”

Deela cringed with the thought of dealing with any Q-like being. It wasn't the Q she knew but just as obnoxious.

Jewel was finally able to get out of her office as she walked to the turbo lift, "Ops," she stated as the lift began to move. Then the left began to move and the moments later the doors opened. She was about ready to ask what was going on when she seen Mike talking to someone she hadn't seen before.

Sevlek stepped off of the turbolift and instantly saw Q, no, not that Q. "What are you doing aboard this station, Q?"

A hearty laugh was the immediate response. "Oh! What joy, Admiral Pointy Ears is aboard this station too!" He sauntered closer to the Vulcan, "How have you been Sevvie?"

Deela touched the tips of her ears and decided to step back, hoping to avoid the same reference to her ears as well.

Sevlek raised an eyebrow, "I will ask again, what are you doing aboard this station?"

Yamaguchi raised a shapely eyebrow as she too had pointed ears, she let out a sigh as she looked from her station to the Q being who was standing before her as something here wasn't right and then it hit her, he was bored with everything and demanded to be entertained, she could feel the raw power of Q and needless to say, she could feel the fight or flight instinct kicking in as she did not move, the iron discipline of twenty years of Starfleet service caused her feet to not move.

=Marine Barracks=

In the Marine Barracks, Master sergeant Duval was playing a game of cards, as he regarded the three other players before him, one of them was known for making large bets and the second was known for bluffing.

Marcus was sat in his room with his feet up on his desk reading and eating an apple. He was smiling and laughing to himself, the door next to him was open and every now and again one of the marines walked past and into the barracks. His room was part of the barracks but being a senior NCO he had a private room all to himself. He looked round at the marines in the barracks who were all just sat around passing time, polishing boots, reading like he was or sat playing card games.

His console beeped and with his apple in his mouth, his book in his right hand he reached across and tapped it with his left hand. The computer spoke in its usual mono-toned voice.

"Full alert, full alert, boarding pods inbound" said the computer in a calm voice.

Marcus threw his book on the table and stood up knocking his chair over, he grabbed his jacket and spat his apple into the trash receptacle. As he exited the room he hit the big red button. The shutters on the armory sprung open and the red lights around the room started to flash. Marines clambered from their bunks throwing on the battle gear and running for the door, each one grabbing a rifle as he ran past the armory.

Duval roared. "Saddle up Marines, we got incoming fire!" as he pulled on his gear.

Marcus had put on his full battle gear ready for a fight, he watched the Marines working fast and quietly as they was trained to do and he felt proud of them all. Anxious for the up coming battle but proud his men we're ready. He watched the last of them in full battle gear which was reminiscent of 20th century riot gear. They charged through the door but as they passed the threshold the battle gear vanished and each was stood in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt holding a coconut drink with little umbrellas.

Duval blinked as he looked at his drink, it was a cocktail glass of one of his wife's infamous concoctions. "What..... wait... No.."

Marcus looked confused, but more over he was angry. He stepped through the door ready to chastise the marines.

Duval heard the First Seargeant opej his mouth to start as he angrily turned to snap something back at him as he watched the other man disappear. "What the hell!"

"You bunch of ...." he passed the threshold but instead of ending up in the corridor outside the marine barracks he was stood in Ops looking at the Ops crew and assembled officers. He took his helmet off and looked around the room confusion, he caught a reflection of himself in a display and realized he was naked. Quickly he covered his private parts with his helmet, he'd hadn't been naked or even semi naked in public since he picked up so many battle scars and burns on his body. The medical staff said they could cover them up or remove them but he wanted them as they reminded him of the people he'd lost and the battles he'd been in. Marcus didn't say anything he just shrugged ensuring he kept himself covered.

"Sir.. what's going on?" one of the privates asked.

"Don't ever call me sir, ever again... I make myself clear private!" Duvall snapped back loudly.

"Yes Sargent." the chastised man responded.

"Master Sergeant, We got the Call... Q is screwing with us."

"Alright, everyone stand down... stand down... we're not playing his games.."

he tapped his combadge. "Duval to all marines... stand down.... If you encounter Q, do not acknowledge him, no matter the cost... ignore him, that is a direct order." he sighed as he realized the com system was out. "Guys, go pass the word, all rooms and all sections. Q is screwing with us."

"Sir, brass wants us out patrolling the base, all vital areas." the call came in about ten seconds later after he sent out his guys. "Alright, then lets do it... Tip out the entire Division, every man and woman we got not nailed down, I want them all in gear and boots on the line..... I also wanted it done yesterday, move it out!"

"Yessir!" as the man tapped the com system "General Quarters, General Quarters, All Marines prepare for Combat Duty."

Duval went into his private room as he sighed softly. "We march valiantly into battle, dear friends, now is the hour where we draw swords at last." he commented to nobody as he proceeded to strip and then he quickly proceeded to don his armor, this he slid his katana into the scabbard on his back and his kaybar into its sheath on his chest, where it belonged as he considered how best to give out the orders that he knew needed to be given out.

With Colonel Hurd and Sergeant Major Pepper elsewhere, it fell to him to handle it until Lennox or someone else showed up but this had never stopped or slowed him down before, he always brought that 'can do' attitude with him anywhere he went.

To be on light duty a few days and not be aware.... Well Phoenix was slightly aware of the the station acting funny. Mid-romp with a excessively beautiful, off-duty trill engineer, both she and Phoenix's partner looked out their port window to see a planet almost crash into them.

Then poof! Back to normal. That was when her wing XO commed her.

=^= Wing is to be on alert status, Phoenix. Q is messing with us. =^=

Phoenix rolled her eyes and wanted to hit Jojo for interrupting. Because her Trill playmate rolled out of bed and picked up his clothes. Then he walked out of the room.

=^= Well you tell the wing that their orders is to play in the rec room. We aren't deploying any birds, Jojo. =^=

Joo came back with an uneasy rebuttal. =^= Brass says the station is in danger. =^=

=^= Brass has come across this omnipotent irritant several times. And each time, playing Q's game ended badly... So the wing does nothing. Ignore a bratty toddler having a tantrum long enough, they shut up. Phoenix out.

Ops

Lee stepped off the turbo lift and walked into Ops, he looked around and saw the problem:"There goes the neighborhood."

Jewel had seen Marcus appear in ops but had nothing on, she couldn't help but laugh a little but yet at the same time she felt really embarrassed by him with no clothes on. "Q, do you mind?" she asked as she looked at Q and then back at Marcus.

"What is it with you Q thinking you can just..." But Q cut off Bremer in mid sentence

"...just pop in and disrupt things, blah blah blah." He said with a smile as a naked Sergeant Major Pepper appeared.

"Q, that's enough!" Bremer said angrily.

"Oh you Humans and your sense of morals." Q replied.

"I'm not Human." Bremer replied as he took a step closer to Q.

"I think you all need to loosen up your morals and have a good laugh, here, let me help!" Q replied with a giggle and smile. He then balled up his right fist and slightly nudged it forward similar to a 'fist pump', then a flash, and everyone in Ops was naked along with Pepper.

As Q giggled, several crew members tried to cover up as best as they could.

Lee raised an eyebrow as he was naked along with everyone else.

Torilla raised an eyebrow as she herself did not have a nudity taboo but she knew that many others did as she looked at the first Q, though she did catch the younger Q looking at her figure, she rolled her eyes as she glared back at him.

A female crewman went a bit red in the face right as she shuffle behind Pepper and pressed her body against his to cover herself. Pepper looked over his shoulder at her then shrugged gently.

Before Bremer could say anything, another bright flash came from the far side of Ops, and as it faded away, two Human looking figures were standing there, both in older Starfleet Uniforms and the taller of the two was very failure to many of the Officers present.

"That's enough Q, I think you've had enough fun today."

"Q! And Q2! It's nice to see you both...why are you here?" The first Q in Ops replied.

"Clothes Q!" Bremer said as he looked over at the Q so many Starfleet Officers knew.

"All right." Q replied, but just before snapping his fingers, his 'son' grabbed his arm as he looked at Gillo from behind.

"Q, can't you wait just a..."

"Q!!" Bremer yelled loudly. Then in a snap, everyone, including Pepper, were dressed again.

"You know Q, I like that uniform more than the black and gray these bi-peds have on." Again, the older looking Q pumped his fist and his uniform changed to the Starfleet style from the early 2370s, but he kept his six gold Admiral's pips.

Mike then looked back at the older looking Q, balled up his fist, and punched him in the face, sending him deck.

"I could of told you that was coming, I see you haven't lost that Klingon temper of the years." Q said with a smile. He then looked at the older Q on the deck, "Be careful Q, some of these primates are violent."

"Okay, we need some names around here, everyone calling each other, Q." K'Temoc said. He then pointed at the 'original' Q, then to his 'son' and then to the new visitor. "Okay, Q, Q2, and Q3."

"They get confused easy too don't they." Q3 said as he stood back up.

"What do you want Q...Qs" Mike then asked.

"Q has spoken so much about his encounters with Humans, Klingons, Vulcans, and others that it made me want to learn a little more too. I've spent some time around you bi-peds, but to see you live day to day is just...fascinating." Q3 replied as he glanced at Sevlek and winked.

Bremer took a deep breath, he was surprised by what he was about to say, "Fine, Q3, you can watch...you can stay aboard the Station and see how we live day in and day out for a week or so, but then I want you out of here."

"I want to see what you do around here too" Q2 said, "I mean, I know how things aboard Aunt Kathy's ship worked, but this station doesn't go anywhere, how to you survive not going insane here...it's got to be boring. Please tell me something happens around here."

"You have no idea." K'Temoc replied.

"Behave yourselves, don't cause trouble Q." Mike turned to the original.

Jewel stood there getting rather irritated rather quickly, this was the actual first time she seen Mike get this angry and hit someone like that. Granted it was Q and he deserved it but still. She grinned a tad but without Mike seeing it.

Deela was biting at the bit seeing Q on the station. She tried to avoid eye contact with him. As for the original Q, he noticed her and became distracted by her presence. He had been fascinated by her mixed heritage and secretly had a crush on her back in the day.

Deela unfortunately glanced over at Q and caught each other's eyes. Deela rolled her eyes and prayed that he'd behave himself. That was of course was asking too much. The next thing she knew, she was being sent to another location...right next to Q. Q took her into his arms and planted a kiss right on her lips. Deela slapped him. "You haven't changed a bit, well, except your rank. Vice Admiral Deela T'Lar, it has a ring to it, don't you think?"

After wiping her lips, she gave him a slight shove, "You haven't either, Q. Do you mind?"

"Kill joy." Once again, Deela found herself where she was standing originally. Alex giggled softly as she spoke to Deela telepathically, "Is he a good kisser?"

Deela glared at Alex, "No comment." Deela crossed her arms and stood there, more annoyed than usual. Alex got smart and didn't push the question."

"And we could learn more about you as well." said R'nard, looking up from his station. He was naturally curious about these entities, having never met one before, though he had heard of them.

Q2 smiled, “Looks, they have a talking furball.” He then saw Bremer glaring at him, and being the only Q of the group Bremer hadn’t punched at one time or another, he didn’t want to be the next and his smile disappeared.

Coleman walked to the nearest turbolift, getting reports from all over the station. He decided to head to ops to try and figure out things from a more central location. When he got on, he called for Ops and waited a few seconds that it would take to get there. When he stepped out, he said, "What's going on with.....oh, I see. We've got the Q triplets. No wonder why my teams have reported dinosaurs all over the station."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "We went from Microraptors to tyrannosaur's in the arboretum." she checked the sensors to find out who was in there as her blood pressure shot through the roof. "Q.... end this now..."

Torilla moved away from her post as she turned to face him, clearly she was prepared to tangle with him as he sighed. "You need to learn to chill out." and with that Yamaguchi found herself encased inside a block of ice.

Coleman's combadge chirped and he pressed it. "Coleman here. Go ahead." Then, a panicked ensign came through on the other end. "Sir, my team and I are cornered, by the Borg. They just beamed in out of nowhere."

Coleman looked over at R'nard and asked, "Can you send a team down there by any chance? I don't know what was worse, the Dinosaurs or the Borg coming back from the dead." Coleman rolled his eyes for a moment.

"Enough of this Q," Jewel shouted getting angry at this point. "This is getting out of control! Stop this now!" Jewel growled as the Borg was the last straw.

"But it's fun," said the one older Q. "It might be fun for you but, but we don't call this fun!" Jewel growled angry at this point.

The massive ice cube seemed to crack as ice began to flake off as the massive cube crumbled as Torilla stood there, eyes ablaze with pure rage as she picked up all of the ice as she smashed it all together and then she used it like a giant mace as she smashed it into the first Q. "We are not your playthings Q...." she snarled.

Q seemed to be unaffected as he looked mildly amused. "Q... enough of these games..." as she slowly made her way over towards Q, she had that graceful dancers gait which highlighted her smooth but muscular legs as she stopped just outside of striking range of the first Q. "You think I'm joking Q?" she inquired.

"Just like any other typical Q, immature as all hell." Lee stood there shaking his head then folded his arms across his chest.

Torilla realized what she was about to do as she realized it would be no good, she turned and went back to her post as she tried to tune this nonsense out, she had far more important things to do, like deal with the chaos resulting from his arrival.

Now back in uniform Pepper could feel his temperament rising, he'd heard of this Q species but never seen one. He straightened his jacket and regardless of how many officers were present it was time for a proper dressing down, the kind only a career Sergeant Major gives. Pepper took a step forward glancing over his shoulder to make sure the female crewman behind him was dressed, he then looked back at Q and raised his finger. Just as his mouth opened he saw a sudden flash and was sat back in his room with his book in is hand and the female crewman sat on his lap.

They looked at each other and she blushed.

"I'm Kate by the way" she said in an almost shy manner, before Marcus could say anything Duval appeared at the door shook his head and ran off.

"Maybe we can pick this up later" Pepper finally replied.

Kate jumped up and brushed off her uniform, Marcus again grabbed his gear and headed out this time hesitating before he left the barracks.

[Billy's Quarters - SB400]
Meanwhile in the Quarters of Lt. William "Billy" Keikeya Jr., Billy was getting ready for his shift as the Q started appearing. His quarters were no exception to the unwelcome visitors of the Q Continuum as one flashed right next to him as he was in his bathroom shaving. Billy snapped, "Just who the hell are you and why are you in my quarters?"

"I am Q," Q replied. He asked, "Surely you've heard of the Q?"

"Of course I have. Everyone attends the Q Lecture at Starfleet Academy. But you don't look like you did in the Enterprise-D video," Billy replied.

"I'm Q, not Q. Understand?" Q said annoyed.

"I think I'm beginning to. You're Q, but a different Q than the one Starfleet previously encountered?" Billy asked.

"He can be taught!" Q exclaimed. Q asked, "Why do you engage in this daily tradition of yours but don't use a traditional blade?" In a flash his modern shaver turned into an old fashioned straight edge razor blade.

Billy glared at Q and in defiance of Q resumed shaving with the old fashioned blade until he nicked himself. He glared at Q again, "I'm not amused and I'm in no mood for your games."

"Oh? But I am amused..." Q laughed as in another flash Billy had an epic beard that ran all the way down the floor of the bathroom, zig-zagged on the floor and out the door behind him. As he turned around to look his quarters was full of his beard hair in a massive pile about waist deep and it was all attached to his face.

Billy furiously grabbed a handful and cut below it to sever himself from the rest of the hair. When he finally cut through and the last strand snapped free, Billy tripped backwards, falling over the toilet and into the bath-tub behind him.

Q laughed, "I don't care if your omnipotent or not, that's funny!"

Billy stood up in his tub sporting an Afro-Beard.

Ops

Mike took a deep breath, he knew the new Q was having fun, but it was at the expense of him and his crew, he also knew there was no way to really stop him.

He turned to the original Q, “Q, please, stop this. If Q…number three wants to see how we live day to day,” he turned to look at the older appearing, new Q of the bunch, “then let him rescind his powers for a week or so to see what we are really like.”

The new Q smirked and shook his head, “No…I’m not giving up my powers.”

“Q, you’ll never see what Humans and others are like with your powers…trust me, I know.” The original Q of the group replied. He then snapped his fingers and everything returned to normal. All the dinosaurs, Borg, etc were gone and the Station and ships were back to normal.

“You’re observing only, understand?” Bremer added

The older looking Q snapped to attention and gave a relaxed salute, “Yes sir, Admiral sir.”
