Mission: Mission 84 - Blockade
Location: USS Pegasus
Timeline: Following 'Initial Contact' - Pegasus Group'

ON:

It had been a quiet night aboard the Pegasus. After the Fighters had landed, the Krazzle vessel in the area had backed off and aware from the blockade line.

As Mike returned to the Bridge in the morning, he read a report about the USS Tiriptiz being sent to DS14 with General Dartt aboard to assist MacLeod in the Peace Talks. He also read a report saying an old nemesis, Ra' Graline was the Krazzle Emperor now and their Representative at DS14 for the Peace Talks. Mike knew in the pit of his stomach that it wasn't a good turn of events...

As Mike took his seat on the Bridge, he read reports from other group commanders along the Blockade. All had reports Krazzle ships snooping along the line, but so far none had attempted to run the blockade.

The Admiral looked around the Bridge as everyone else took this positions for the morning shift.

"Report." Mike said aloud to everyone on the Bridge.

"Everything is quiet Admiral from my end," M'Kota stated as nothing unusual was going on out there.

"Engineering reports all green lights on the engines and the grid. The Typhon Pact has backed off their attempts at the moment to disable it." Coleman reported from the Engineering station.

"Sensors are clear, no reports of contacts from the night watch sir." K'Wor reported from Tactical.

"Too quiet." K'Temoc commented as he walked down the ramp toward the center of the Bridge.

Mike agreed, but what was the Krazzle's play? Would they ride out the calm and see where the peace talks would go, or were they planning something?

"It's called a Passive Probe," Phoenix spoke from a secondary tactical console, where she was reviewing the flight recordings from the flight paths of her squadron. "Smart move is to test our line by way of alertness. He who can respond the slowest, presents the perfect hole for Pacters to punch through in the blockade... Which is probably why we found no Pacter fighters. They aren't willing to show their hand unless they have found a tactical advantage."

"It's also a good way to figure out how to get through our defenses as well. They tried to mess with it a little bit already and it didn't work and they could be trying to figure out other ways to take down our defenses." Coleman said, leaning over his shoulder to Phoenix and the rest of the senior staff on the bridge. "I've already fortified the grid from their last little burst, but lord only knows what the Krazzle and the rest of the Typhon Pact has up their sleeves these days."

M'Kota just sat there listening to what everyone is saying, "Well, this quiet is starting to get me concerned. Still nothing happening not even movement from anyone. I don't like this one bit." M'Kota stated to anyone that was listening.

Ariel added from Science I, "I'll agree with M'Kota on this one. I've worked on the frontier of Krazzle territory. They don't like to just sit around and wait. They appeared to be creatures of habit and this definitely isn't their habit."

A few moments later, the comm beeped and the face of Vulcan Admiral Sevlek appeared on the screen. "Admiral Bremer, the Gladiator is being redeployed to answer a distress call from Convoy 11. The Potemkin will be handling communication routing for the fleet until the Gladiator returns."

Mike nodded, “Understood. We’ve just heard of a similar report regarding Convoy 15. The Venator is the closest ship and is responding.”

Mike nodded, “Understood. We’ve just heard of a similar report regarding Convoy 15. The Venator is the closest ship and is responding.”

"Reports from the peace talks also confirm that all convoys will be attacked on sight by Krazzle vessels." Sevlek turned away then turned back to the screen, "The Gladiator will return as soon as possible."

Mike nodded, “I heard the same, question is would they really risk the peace of the galaxy to attack relief convoys that hold little value in the grand scheme of things?” It was a rhetorical question, but was true too, the relief convoys had little military value, why risk an all-out galactic war on them.

Sevlek nodded at the question, "Posturing is something the Krazzle have
refined to an admirable level." The Vulcan looked at Andrenicus who was
indicating he had another communication to respond to, "I will keep you
updated with the views and order of the Council and President. Sevlek out."

Once the channel closed, Mike glanced back at the Bridge, “Looks like the quietness is over.” He paused a moment, “Looks like the Krazzle’s play is raid our relief convoys…that they had previously agreed to allow safe transit to…in an attempt to draw ships away from the blockade.”

"Rules of war are usually broken when the little guys needs the advantage," Jillian stated blandly.

Mike took a moment to walk up the ramp, he looked over K’Wor’s shoulder at Tactical as he pulled up a display of all twenty-two convoys. Convoy 6 was the closest to the Pegasus’s location. “Phoenix, take your squadron and give Convoy 6 an escort. Should raiders show up, keep them busy until we can arrive to support.”

"On it." Phoenix stood up and tapped her badge on the way to the lift. =^= Phoenix to squadron... Prep for launch. This is not a drill." =^=

“M’Kota, send a message to Captains Riker, LaForge, Ro, Valla, Zander, T’Rok, Kraz, Dukun, and T’San to keep close eyes on the convoys close to their op areas. Also advice Commander Yamaguchi to keep us informed of their status.

"Understood sir," replied M'Kota as she tapped a few buttons sending a message to Riker, LaForge, Ro Valla, Zander, T'Rok, Kraz, Dukun and also T'San to keep an eye on the convoys and why. After that message was sent she then sent another message to Commander Yamaguchi requesting a report on their status. She then sent that one as well.

"Admiral, messages have been sent sir," M'kota replied looking at the Admiral.

"Thank you." Mike replied. Now was the hard part, waiting.

M'Kota nodded and sat there going over sensors, things were about to get interesting.

As soon as the messages were sent, Coleman's panel started going crazy and alarms began to buzz on the bridge. "Sir, I'm reading gaps coming up throughout the grid. Large enough for Krazzle and other Typhon Pact ships to make it through."

Mike shook his head, something just still didn’t feel right. “Have the closest Intercept Ships investigate. K’Wor, launch a Class IV Sensor Probe toward the closest gap in our area, set it to disperse its subprobes so that it reforms that part of the tachyon grid and actively sweeps the area. I have a feeling the Krazzle or whoever is trying to make us jump to watch our response plan.”

K’Wor nodded as he tapped in the commands, “Launching probe.”

“You think the Pact wants us to make the first aggressive move, so they’re crossing the blockade will appear to be a response to a threat?” K’Temoc asked his older brother.

“I do, what better way to justify things than to play the victim card?” Mike replied.
