430 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: Somewhere. Everywhere.
Timeline: Current

T'Lar requested form the computer where Lokran was located on the ship. She found him, "Lt. Cmdr. Lokran. Admiral Bremer would like you to double security in the Maximum Security brig and lock down the entire deck." Before walking away, she smiled at Lokran, "Keep up the good work."

T'Lar walked away. On the way, she bumped into Harrison. Alex didn't smile, "Admiral T'Lar."

"Deela. Alex, walk with me."

"I would but I'm on my way to the brig. I just want to check things out and make sure everything is doing fine there."

Then I'll walk with you instead." She followed Alex in the corridor, "Clark makes you nervous, doesn't he? He's not getting out of the brig."

"Oh I know he isn't. I'm just going to inspect the place, that's all. I just want to make sure the brig is secure."

Deela cocked her head to the side and gave her that certain look.

Alex hung her head, "Okay, you got me. I asked Bremer for a shift guarding them."

Deela nodded with approval, "That's fine. If it helps you sleep, it's okay. I do understand."

"Thanks." Alex and Deela stopped walking.

Deela put her hand on Alex's shoulder, "You did good kiddo."

Alex laughed, "I see that Vincent has rubbed off on you. You are starting to talk just like him."

"Really? Is it a little...weird?" Deela asked.

"A little. When I was first under your command, you talked more like a Vulcan than a Betazoid. I'm glad to see that you have broadened your horizons."

Deela chuckled, "I'm glad you approve."

"I'm?" Alex grinned, "Point proven. Let's do lunch sometime."

They departed, both with a smile. Deela decided that this was the best time to go see her husband and kids. Alex continued to the brig containing Clark and Winters.

Alex saw two guards standing outside the brig. They both recognized their former boss. They let her in. Two more were standing inside the entrance. They let her through.

When she walked over to the cells, Baratan was standing with her weapon ready. Alex wasn't expecting that kind of greeting. It seemed that Baratan was both alarmed and startled.

"Relax Ensign, it's only me. I'm just checking things out and making sure that everything is secure. After everything that has been happening around here, I want to make sure that there are no surprises." She looked passed Baratan and saw the two jailbirds. Clark, ugh, she couldn't stand the sight of him. They were attacked not once but twice. And he almost got away...almost.
