1,086 words; about a 5 minute read

Mission: Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: Starbase 400
Timeline: Following 'Raiding the Pirate Freighter '

The Freighter has been secured and the Station's lockdown has been lifted just in time for the Steadfast to dock. K’Temoc, Pike, Harrison, Baratan, and Smith stepped though the air lock. With them were Clark and Winter. Bremer, T’Lar, and R’nard where there to meet them.

“Welcome to Starbase 400, Mister Clark.” Mike said with a smirk.

“My friends just call me Clark, it’s good to see you again Admiral.” Clark replied with a smirk of his own.

“I’m not your friend.” Mike coldly replied as he stepped over to Winter. “And you…”

Winter looked at his former Commanding Officer, but said nothing.

Mike continued to look Winter in the eye, but spoke to R’nard. “Commander, take them to the Maximum Security Brig, Ms. Baratan, accompany the Commander’s Team please.”

"Understood." he said, leading them to the brig.

Saith nodded her acknowledgement and looked to Lokran to lead the group. Without thinking about it she put her hand on her weapon, assuring herself that it was still there. She fell in step behind the prisoner as they headed down the Starbase corridor.

R'nard escorted them away. He would have to be back in uniform after he secured them.

After Clark and Winter were escorted away by Lokran, Saith, and the Security Team, K’Temoc handed Mike a PADD. “This has everything on it we've learned about Clark. I believe we need to discuss it in private.”

Mike nodded as he took the PADD and the group walked away. A few minutes later Bremer, T'Lar, K’Temoc, Pike, Harrison, and Smith arrived in Tactical Astrometerics. The room was empty, and as the doors closed Mike sealed the room.

“What do you have?” He asked K’Temoc.

“I believe Clark is involved, heavily, with Section 31.” He proceeded to explain to everyone the trouble he’d had just trying to search the Starfleet Medical Database, and then after calling in personal favors, how Admirals Crusher and Zen had been locked out of the system.

Mike used the PADD to display the data about Clark on the main viewer in Tactical Astrometerics. “Commander Alexander ‘Clark’ Clarkson. AWOL from Starfleet since Stardate 55002.6. Previous assignment, Executive Officer USS Bellerophon. Current age, 48 Earth Years, Graduate of Starfleet Academy Class of ’58. Completed Starfleet Advanced Tactical Training Course. Won the Remeck Tactical Award, Distinguished Service Star, and Original Thinking Awards during the Dominion War. Not the typical resume of a Pirate.”

Alex couldn't believe it. Advanced Tactical training? Original Thinking award? She now understood why he was good. She spoke out, "Why in the world would he even want to join the pirates?"

Lee blew out a breath and shook his head:"Got to love those kriffing Secton 31 people."

“One thing that sticks out for me is his former position aboard the Bellerophon. We all know about Admiral Ross’s involvement with Section 31, its possible Bill recruited him into Section 31…or he could have been a member of Section 31 prior to taking the position. Add to it, all the trouble you had just getting this little bit of information, his ability to obtain state of the art weapons, as well has how he’s been able to stay just ahead of us for so long.” Mike added.

Alex whispered to T'Lar, "Makes sense." T'Lar nodded in agreement.

"Do you think that maybe Secton 31 has something to do with these pirates Admiral?"

Mike nodded, "I'm sure of it." He look up at the monitor again, studing Clark's file.

Mike then looked at his Executive Officer, “Have R'nard double Security in the Maximum Security Brig and lock down the entire deck. It’s bad enough we have an insane duplicate of me and a mass murderer down there, but now we have a member, possibly two members, of Section 31 in the same area. I also want a Marine Squad on that deck at all times.” Bremer wasn't worried about Clark breaking himself out, but with Section 31 you just didn't take chances.

T'Lar nodded to him, "Will do."

Mike looked around the room, “Good work everyone. I’ll be informing Starfleet Command about what we've found soon, so I want everyone to be on their toes. Let’s make sure we tighten station security and keep our eyes open.” Mike then shared a warm smile, it was a relief to have Clark behind a force-field. His Pirate group had been hit hard too, so he was hopeful things would quiet down again.

Lee put a data padd on the table and slid it towards Admiral Bremer:"Here is my report Admiral was telling you about Ensign Bartan. She attacked several members of the Steadfast crew and injured least 3 security people. She went at me in Romluan about saying that Star Fleet is not good and we all are traitors and stuff like that."

Mike shook his head, "Send me a report, copy it to Lokran. I'll talk to her...maybe our visiting Counselor can talk to Miss Baratan too."

Suddenly, the comm sounded, “Ops to Admiral Bremer.”

Mike tapped his comm-badge, “Bremer here.”

“Sir, incoming message from the Avenger. Captain Greenwood reports they have rescued Major Hurd and they are in route back to the Station.” Archer replied.

Mike saw a smile cross T’Lar’s face, then he replied to Archer, “Very good. Are there any reports of casualties?”

“Yes sir, he reported two Security Officers were killed during the rescue, Lieutenant JP Graham and Ensign Barker were killed aboard the Avenger with about a dozen injured during a brief fire-fight with Pirate vessels.” Archer replied, then added, “Captain Greenwood also wanted me to tell you that Ensign K’Wor did well sir, and he is all right. They are in route back to the Station now.”

Mike then relaxed and smiled. “Very well. Express my congratulations at a job well done.” He didn't like the fact anyone had been killed, but he was relieved his son was safe.

T'Lar's smile was short lived as she hated to hear about anyone's senseless death. Hurd was safe now but at what cost? "Sorry to hear about Graham and Barker. It's never easy losing crewmembers." She had lost many herself. "If you'll excuse me, I'll pass on your orders to Lokran."

Bremer nodded to his XO, then said to the group, “Dismissed.”

Alex walked over to Bremer, "Sir, I'd like permission to take a shift in the Maximum Security brig." She was a little uncomfortable knowing Clark was in their brig.
