David slowly shifted his weight, at least what little he could, to try to see where exactly he was. The room, however, was pitch black, and there was no visibility period. Sighing, David sat back down and waited for what he knew was coming next. They had tortured him on and off for the last 75 hours, using various means. Sleep deprivation so far seemed to be their favorite so far, but nothing they had done had broken him. He was a Marine, and he would not be broken, simple as that.

After what seemed like a few minutes, the door to the room open and then closed again. A very bright lit was turned on and blasted into David's face. He heard voices now. ''So Major'', said one, ''Are you going to tell us what we want to know now?'' S smile spread over David's face, and he said, '' I am not telling you a damn thing!'' A hand connected with the side of David's face, splitting his lip and allowing the blood to start flowing once again. However David's smile remained defiantly on his face.

After about another half hour of being beaten, David still had not broken. He heard a sigh, and the voice came back saying, ''Since you wont co-operate with us, i am afraid we will have to use more extreme methods.'' David heard some noise followed by a slight mechanical him. Then the voice said, ''Major, i assume you have heard of Romulan Mind Probes?'' Although he didn't show it outwardly, his insides went ice cold.....
