As they were walking towards the holodecks, Vice Admiral Deela T'Lar was walking towards Alex and Paul. Deela stopped and they began to talk.

Deela seemed relieved, "Oh good, you're back. I heard that you had a run in with Clark."

"Oh yeah. What's worse is that Westmoreland and Smith were with him."

"Great." Deela shook her head, "At least we know now that they are together. We had a run in as well with the pirates. The Essex was a little banged up."

Alex sighed, "Yorktown as well. We're going back out in another ship."

"So you're going after them. I hope that you guys get them." Deela wasn't surprised.

"Me too. More than you know. They've caused nothing but trouble and suspicion."

She raised an eyebrow, "How's that?"

"Just a few idiots talking among themselves. Nothing I can't handle."

Deela observed her for a moment, "Well. if they give you any more trouble, let me know and I'll give them something else to occupy their time."

"Okay, I'll send them to you if I need to." Alex glanced over at Paul who was being quite patient, "I guess we should get going. I promised Paul here to show him a few things."

Deela smiled at Paul, "So Paul, are you planning to join Starfleet when you get old enough?"

Paul smiled back, "Yes Ma'am. I haven't decided what I want to do but I'm sure I'll figure it out. I do have some time to decide."

"Come see me in my office at your convenience and we'll talk about it. See if I can give you a few things to think about."

"Yes Ma'am. " He looked at his mom, "Mom, can we all have dinner together? I told Brandon that I'd help him with his project."

Alex looked at Deela, "Yeah, why don't we meet at the promenade and eat there. I think it would be great."

Deela nodded, "Dinner at 0600 hours?"

"Sounds good. See you then."

They parted ways. Alex and Paul arrived at one of the holodecks and noticed that it was being used. "Hmm, occupied. Computer, who is running a program in holodeck one?"

"Captain Leon Pike."

She looked at Paul and smiled, "How would you like to crash a holodeck program?"

Paul's expression mimicked his moms, "As long as he won't get mad, I say let's do it."

They entered to see a jungle. Alex looked around, "Come on and stay close."

"Is it safe?" Paul had very little experience with holodecks., "That's what the safeties are for. Just do what I do and you'll be fine."

Alex moved slowly through the jungle. She could tell in which direction he had gone. They both moved slowly and stayed low.
