Mission: Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: USS Avenger
Timeline: Following Greenwood's and Bremer's Post

ON:

Ryan sat in the observation lounge. He had dispatched the new assignments to the officers that would be joining him on this mission. He waited for those officers to arrive for a briefing.

Commander Coleman had been working on a few research projects for himself, as well as working on trying to help figure out what was able to knock out a Defiant-Class starship like the Yorktown. But, while he was working a biological research project, he heard the computer chirp really quick.

"Commander Jonathan Coleman, incoming message from Captain Ryan Greenwood" the computer said, flashing a message upon the screen.

Coleman walked over to the screen and input his command codes to open the message. He read the message and it said that he was requested as apart of the command crew of the USS Avenger immediately. Once he finished reading the message, he secured the projects and headed to the Docking Ring. Once he got to the Avenger, he headed upto the bridge and into the observation lounge to wait for the briefing.

Once he got there, he also saw Captain Greenwood looking at a PADD. He walked over to the Captain and said, "Hello sir. I just got your message. Hope I'm not late."

Ryan looked up. "No you are not Commander. You seem to be early." he said with a smile.

K’Wor had already been aboard the Avenger before, when the ship set off on her official trial run. He was happy to get the chance to go on her first official mission too.

The young man had packed light, mainly because of the short notice of the mission. As he boarded the vessel, a Lieutenant JG, a Human, that K’Wor didn’t recognize was manning the air lock…

“Good day…Acting Ensign. Are you reporting aboard or visiting?” The JG asked.

“Reporting aboard, Lieutena…”

The JG quickly cut K’Wor off, “You’re orders?”

K’Wor squint his eyes. He didn’t like being cut off, even if this guy had a higher rank. K’Wor sat his bag on the deck, reached in, and pulled out the PADD with his orders, and handed it to the JG.

The Lieutenant tapped the PADD and brought up the orders. As he started reading he realized he’d just been a total ass to his Department Head and immediate CO for the upcoming mission.

“Umm, here’s your PADD, sir.” The JG replied as he snapped to attention.

K’Wor took the PADD back, but he really wasn’t sure how to handle the situation. He knew being rude right back to the guy wouldn’t do any good, and this really wasn’t serious enough for any kind of formal reprimand. Instead, K’Wor decided to let the embarrassment be its own punishment.

“Thank you Lieutenant, carry on.” K’Wor replied. He picked up his bag and stepped aboard the Avenger. As he rounded the corner, he couldn’t help but to smile about the incident.

A few minutes later, K’Wor entered the briefing room. Only Commander Coleman and Captain Greenwood were present, “Acting-Ensign K’Wor, reporting as ordered.”

"Good to see you Acting Ensign. Please have a seat as we wait for the others." Ryan directed the Ensign to a seat at the table.

a few minutes later Liliy Arrived on the avenger " Lt. Braker reporting as ordered" she said.

Jackson lay flat on his back with half of his arms buried elbow deep in the underside of the Matter-Antimatter flow converter console, "Okay try it now," he called up to the ensign he had helping him. The ensign punched a couple of buttons and the console lit up, "That did it sir," he replied, "I'll start working over the numbers for the flow conversion rate."

"Great, now if I can just get myself out of this damned position. I was starting to feel like a pretzel," Jackson commented as he began working himself free. He was just sliding out from underneath the console when his combadge chirped.

"This is Graham, go ahead." Jackson tapped his badge and answered.

"This is Holly Mr. Graham. We've been re-assigned. Captain Greenwood and the Avenger will be departing shortly. We are to report on board as soon as possible. Princeton will remain in the hands of the people we've been working with and orders given to complete repairs without us. Report to the bridge of the Princeton when you're ready to depart we'll leave together."

Jackson nodded, "Acknowledged, I'll meet you in the airlock," he replied and closed the channel.

Less than 30 minutes later, the pair of engineering officers arrived in the observation lounge of the USS Avenger still heavily engaged in shop talk about their progress in bringing the Princeton back to life.

Most of the officers had arrived and time was short. Even though he was missing Lieutenant Barker, he was going to continue on.

"Thank you all for arriving under such short notice."

Ryan stood up and touched the display screen

"The Avenger's first mission is to patrol the area around the former colonies and stop any attempts to smuggle arms to these colonies. There have been reports of the colonist there arming up and possibly getting these arms from Pirates. We will set course to Boyden V once we leave starbase. This situation is particularly delicate as we don't want to come in with the impression we are here to fight. If we encounter any unauthorized ships in the area we are to attempt normal procedures to get them to turn around."

Ryan paused for a moment.

"I do know that some of these ships may be Pirates. All ships on our patrol route will be subject to intense scanning to determine if the cargo is arms that may be coming to these colonies. We will only return fire if fired upon."

Ryan looked around the table at the officers.

"Any questions?"

Commander Coleman purked up and asked, "Is there any type of arms in paticular that they have been smuggling into the colonies?"

"Starfleet Intelligence has found evidence of standard ground weapons ranging from Federation Phaser rifles to Klingon disruptors."

Ryan paused for a moment before he gave some not so good news.

"Now intelligence has also confirmed that the colonist have been working on obtaining Tricobalt warheads. So far they have been unsuccessful. If we are to find a ship carrying these warheads we are ordered to destroy the warheads at all costs."

"If there are no further questions here are your assignments on the Avenger. Commander Coleman, you will be my Executive officer during this mission. Lieutenant Gillo, you will be my Chief Operations officer during this mission. I will need you to work with Lieutenant JG Graham, Chief Engineer, on increasing the sensor resolution enroute to Boyden V. We need the best accuracy you can get out of these new sensors. Also Lieutenant JG Graham, prepare damage control teams in case things get out of hand. Acting Ensign K'Wor, I am assigning you as my Chief of Security and Tactical. I will need you prepare boarding parties if it come down to it. Also I will need you to prepare the defensive systems and make sure things work on this new ship. We don't need our shields not to work if they start shooting at us. Lieutenant Barker, you are assigned the Helm on this mission."

Ryan paused to see if any objections came up.

"Lieutenant Barker, prepare undocking procedures. We are departing immediately. Dismissed."
