Mission: Mission 79 - Triangle
Location: USS Yorktown

Lee was coming back from engineering biting back a curse, he had ended up getting his hand burned when one of the panels he was working on shorted out. He stopped for a second and closed his eyes and took a calming breath.

Alex had found herself pacing in her quarters after talking to Paul. The walls were starting to cave in. She decided to go out and see if she could give a hand to someone. As she was walking to Engineering, a crewman who was looking behind him, bumped into her, spinning her around a bit, "Damn it! Eyes forward and watch where you're going Lieutenant." She started to walk, she muttered under her breath, "Moron." Fortunately, the crewman had quickly walked away.

When Alex turned back around to go on her way, she saw Lee. She hoped that he didn't see what happened. She was still quite angry that they had to return so she kind of kicked the cat...figuratively speaking.

Lee opend his eyes and saw Alex standing in front of him. He quickly put his hands behind his back, hoping that she didn't spot the burnt hand. He smiled at her:"Boy someone seems to be in a good mood right now."

She exhaled and didn't smile, "Oh you saw that. I'm not sure who I should be angry at, Clark's group, Starfleet or myself."

He chuckled a little:"Hun you forget am half Betazoid, I can feel the anger comming off of you."

"I didn't exactly...forget. I was too busy fuming to think about anything else."

Lee sighed then moved his hands to his sides:"Why don't you walk with me to sick bay so I can get this burn treated and we can talk about things."

She became concerned, forgetting how she was feeling, "Burn? Where? How bad?" She started to check him out. She got a hold of one of his hands then the other, "Yeah, you've definitely burned it. Come on."

Lee let her lead the way to sick bay:"Yea a darn panel shorted out or something that was working on and was a bit too close for comfort."

"Yeah, I see that." She became quiet during their walk.

"So what's the matter hun?"

"Everything. First Starfleet tells us that we can't go into the Triangle and get Clark's men. Then when we do get a chance to get Clark and the others, we let them get the better of us." She started to get agitated, talking faster as she talked, "What makes it worse that I feel like part of this was my fault. I should have been watching closer to any energy readings! If I had, then we wouldn't be on our way back home! My god, we had them in our grasp (she holds out her hand and then makes a fist) and we lost them!!!" She exhaled.

He reached her hand with his good hand and pulled her closer then turned her around:"It's not your fault hun, don't be blaming yourself."

"I know I shouldn't but it's hard not to when something like this happens on my shift. It really sticks in my craw."

Lee gave her a hug:"Clark and them caught us all with our pants down."

"I hope that we get the chance to return the favor. I'll be the first one in line too."

Lee chuckled as they started walking again to sickbay:"I will be right there in line with you."

"Good. They won't have a chance in hell."

They finally reached sick bay:"I guess next time that help in engineering should be a bit more careful." He sat down on the bed.

"I hope so. I need you uninjured if we are going to kick some serious butt." She smiled, "That is, if K'Temoc gives me the chance to."

He smiled at her:"Am sure K'Temoc will give us the chance to."

"He'd better." She looked around, looking to see where the doctor was at."

Lee reached over and grabbed her hand gently pulling her close to him, he looked into her eyes:"Has anyone told you lately how beautiful you are?"

She blushed, "Usually not when I'm in uniform." Smiling, "So you think I'm beautiful?" She just wanted to hear it again as it had been a long time since someone told her that she was beautiful.

He smiled holding her hand, then looked around and saw no one so he leaned up and gave her a quick kiss on the lips.

She didn't care if anyone saw it or not. She gave him another, yet more passionate kiss.

He smiled bigger:"Yes hun I think you are very beautiful."

"Thank you. I like hearing things like that." She couldn't remember the last time anyone told her that she was beautiful or none that she could remember.

Lee smiled looking into her eyes:"Your very welcome hun."

She looked around noticing that no one was coming, "Looks like they have their hands still full from injuries sustained in the explosion.

Lee let out a sigh:"Shall I call for the EMH or would you like to?"

"Forget that." She takes his hand and looks at it, "It's not that bad, here, I'll take care of it myself." She grabs the dermal regenerator,"Do you trust me?"

Lee nodded:"Of course I trust you hun."

"Good." She started to run the dermal regenerator over his hand.

He sat there looking at her watching her work.

Alex ran it over his hand until the burn disappeared. She set it down and ran the palm of her hand over his, "How's that?"

Lee looked down at his hand then at her and smiled:"Looks good babe."

"Good. I knew my medical training would come in handy." She looked around, "Let's blow this joint. Maybe we can find a food replicator that works."

Lee stood up:"Sounds good to me am getting a bit hungry anyway."
