Dee was twiddling her thumbs at the back of the bridge. There seemed to be a lull on any activity.

"I heard that Commander Grian is back and is on the away mission on the Perseus. I heard, and this is just gossip, that she was away for a few months due to family problems back home on Betazed." Dee pipes up, breaking the silence.

Deela turned to Vox, "Oh? I knew she was on LOA but I really don't know why. It's good that she is back."

"It is. I once worked with her when we had to give the USS Cushing a serious overhaul. That was a tough job but the finished result was absolutely spectacular. She was so beautiful inside when finished plus, her warp core was bang up-to-date. One of those blue swirly transparent ones like on the Intrepid class. Gorgeous."

“Can’t say I’ve ever bothered to stop and admire a warp core before” Ariana grinned as she joined in the conversation. “I guess I really should get to know all of the ship’s systems.”

"Always a good idea. As for admiring a warp core, it's just my inner nerdiness coming to the surface, Ariana. I just love technology and how it enriches our lives. But, the warp core is more than that. It's 'the' piece of technology that made the United Federation of Planets possible. " Dee commented.

“That’s true” Ariana nodded. “When I took the Bridge Officer’s test, I spent all my time studying up on command. Now I need to study up on just about everything else.”

"You know I am more than happy to help you in regards to all things engineering." Dee replied with a smile.

“That would be much appreciated Dee” Ariana smiled warmly.

"Any time. " Dee smiled back.
