Mission: Episode 119 - "Shattered Mirror"
Location: Various
Timeline: Current

ON:

Mirror Starbase 400

Roebuck, Harper, and Carter found their way into the “Quadrant Command Facility”, a similar location to the Beta Quadrant Command Facility on Starbase 400. The trio walked in and noted there were only two people there and neither seemed to pay them any attention.

Carter walked over to a terminal and tried to access, but was locked out.

One of the two in the room looked over as the other approached. “What are you doing? Those terminals are restricted.”

“Oh, he’s been having issues logging in all day.” Roebuck said as he walked over. Harper moved to the other side of the room, keeping a close eye on the other person.

“Then he needs to have a command override…and I don’t see anyone here that can do it.” The first person replied with sarcasm.

“No one else is here? We were told a Commander would be here to allow access.” Roebuck replied.

“He’ll be back, you can wa…” The officer started to reply before being choked out by Roebuck. Carter looked back for the other officer but he was already on the floor thanks to a hard hit on the head by Harper.

“I’ve got the door.” Harper then added as he drew his weapon.

“This fool had a access card all along.” Carter replied as he unlocked the terminal. “Downloading their data now.”

Roebuck then logged in using another terminal. “Uploading virus.”

Elsewhere, Draven and MacLeod had quietly entered Mirror Starbase 400’s version of Tactical Operations and were surprised no one was there. Draven downloaded all the intel he could and uploaded a virus into the system.

Meanwhile, MacLeod downloaded data regarding other powers in the Mirror Universe including the Klingons, Cardassians, and Romulans.

Once they finished, they turned to leave just as the door opened.

Instead of security or anyone assigned to the room, Stark came in and in a hurry.

“I couldn’t get to their R&D, and I think I know why none of them are in here either.” Stark said as the door closed.

“They’re much more stupid that we believed?” Draven asked with a smile.

“Maybe, but no. They’re showing off a new ship in the bay before it takes its first flight.” Stark replied as he access the R&D database at a side terminal. “I only have limited access from here, but I think I have everything I need. Uploaded virus to their R&D servers now.”

In Ops, Bremer was smirking at the six crewmembers that where there and staring at him. “This is a quick inspection, so don’t fail!”

“Sir, even with the Yorktown’s maiden flight?” Someone asked.

K’Wor walked up to the crewmember and backhanded him. “Watch how you speak and who you question.”

K’Wor then looked back at Bremer as the elder tapped in a few commands and brought up the data on the Yorktown, its maiden flight, and all data surrounding the event.

K’Wor then walked over to his father and quietly said, “Now what?”

“I’ve uploaded the virus to their systems in Ops, as well as Aux Control, and their main computer cores…but we have a problem.

“Why are you accessing the protocols and security arrangements for the test flight?” One of the Ops officers asked.

Without missing a beat, Bremer turned and shot them man. As he limp body fell to the deck he looked at everyone else. “Anyone else want to question me?”

No one moved or spoke.

K’Wor smirked. “Stun?”

Bremer nodded as he face went to a blank stare. “We have a problem. Security protocols in place, the whole facility has some type of transport inhibitor activated. It allows someone to beam in, but not out.”

“Can you disable it?” K’Wor asked as he brought up another screen with a schematic of the facility.

“No, the program is highly encrypted…but there is a gap in the inhibitor field. The problem is, that area has a high level damping field in place. Their brig.” Bremer replied to his son.

“So, we can beam out from their brig, but none of our equipment will work because of the damping field. We’re going to need someone to beam us out.” K’Wor said aloud, quietly.

After a moment, K’Wor and Bremer shared a look at each other, then turned to the Mirror Universe crew and stunned them all.

“I’m isolating one of their comm-channels and running an encryption codec, we need to let everyone know to regroup just outside of the brig while we find a way to steal a shuttle. We’ll beam everyone to the shuttle, then beam home.” Bremer explained.

Several minutes later, Roebuck, Carter, and Harper were in the Brig area. They moved all of the prisoners into one of the rear cells before getting outside of the Brig and the damping field til everyone else arrived.

Next to show up was Colonel Lennox, but he wasn’t alone.

“Lennox?” Roebuck asked and he and Carter drew their phases.

“It’s me.” Lennox replied with a smirk. “This is Major Jason Leckie, he’s also from our universe.”

“I got caught in one of their transport beams when they were on Starbase 400, during the changeling hunt. I couldn’t get back, so I gathered intel.” Leckie held up two PADDs.

“He also helped with my objective.” Lennox added as Draven. MacLeod, and Stark arrived.

“Where’s the Admirals?” Draven asked. “We need to get out of here soon, we left a surprise brewing down below.”

A few moments later Bremer and K’Wor arrived. “K’Temoc and Conway aren’t here yet?”

“Haven’t seen them.” Roebuck replied.

Mike was about to tap his commbadge when his beeped. “K’Temoc to Bremer, is everyone in place?”

“Yeah, but where the hell are you?” Mike replied to his brother.

“We’re taking care of transport, but there’s something else you’ll need to do. There’s a power coupling, J-5-3, in an access. Down the corridor, left of the turbolift. You’ll need to interrupt that power flow before we can beam.” K’Temoc explained.

“I’ll go.” Stark replied.

“We’ll cover...just in case.” Reobuck added as he and Carter followed.

A moment later the threesome stood in the corridor as Stark removed a panel from the wall. As he worked he said aloud, “This power flow as nothing to do with the Brig or even the deck we’re on. It sends power to the station’s tractor beams and weapons near the main docking bay.”

“Giving the shuttle a clear path to beam us out.” Carter added.

Stark nodded. “Done.”

At that moment the turbolift doors opened and two security guards started to step out, but we shot by Roebuck and Carter.

“We’ve got to go, now.” Roebuck said very seriously.

“Wait…” Stark said as he started to access another power coupling. “This will shut down this turbolift. Nothing I can do with the one down there.” He motioned with his head further down the corridor. “But this will help…now we need to move.”

The three men ran down the corridor to the Brig.

Bremer tapped his comm-badge, “K’Temoc, we’re all here, nine to beam out.”

“Nine?” K’Temoc asked to confirm.

“Nine…we’re entering the Brig now.” Bremer said as the comm was cut due to the damping field.

A moment later there was as explosion and the deck shook.

“They found my surprise.” Stark quipped as the nine were grabbed by a transporter beam.

A moment later the group found themselves not on a shuttle or even a runabout...

“Welcome aboard the Yorktown.” K’Temoc said with a smirk as he walked between consoles.

The Bridge of the ship was similar to that of the Pegasus-C’s, but with two stations at the front instead of one.

“K’Temoc?” Bremer asked as he looked around.

“Our objective was their docking bay. Access their ships and capabilities. We found out about the test flight, the name of the ship and I couldn’t resist.” K’Temoc smirked.

“Stations everyone.” Bremer added.

“They had only a skeleton crew aboard, we’ve locked them out and gassed them.” Conway added.

“And now beamed them to their own brig.

Mike tapped commands on the Tactical consoles and started looking over the ship’s specs. “She’s the same class as their version of the Pegasus-C.”

“Yeah. They call it a Lexington class. Their USS Lexington isn’t here...”

“But their Pegasus is powering up to pursue.” Conway reported.

“Draven, how long before the viruses start their part of this?” Bremer asked.

“I’m transmitting the key code now.” Draven added.

“Other ships are also coming online.” K’Wor added as he sat at Ops.

“Conway, let’s see what this ship’s firepower can do.” K’Temoc said.

No one was at Flight Control, so Mike walked down and took the position. “Turning us around so primary weapons can come to bare.”

As the massive ship, essentially a refit Odyssey class, turned to face back toward the Mirror Universe version of Starbase 400 her main phasers flared and raked across the hulls of several ships still in the bay orbiting the facility. Then nearly a dozen quantum torpedoes burst forth in rapid succession from the ship’s weapons pod. The barrage beat into several of the ships, some exploding while other lost power and drifted. Finally, the ship’s mounted phaser canon lanced out and ripped into the Mirror Universe Pegasus-C.

A second later, the view screen changed from a view of the carnage to the face of the Mirror Universe Bremer. “Yorktown, what the hell...” but his voice trailed off as the saw K’Temoc and then Mike stand from Flight Control.

“We owed you a visit.” Mike said coldly.

“Fire again.” K’Temoc said.

The impacting torpedoes and phaser fire sent the Mirror Universe Bremer off his feet and to the deck as their Mirror Universe Pegasus-C burned and started to drift toward another ship also drifting inside the docking bay before the channel closed.

The Yorktown fired again and again on the Mirror Universe Starbase 400 setting large parts of the base ablaze.

After a few moments, the Yorktown turned and moved away before generating a tunnel that allowed the ship to safely cross back into the prime universe.

“We’re being hailed by Starbase 400.” Conway said.

“Open a channel.” Mike replied.

While Bremer spoke to Ops, K’Temoc took over Flight Control and moved the Yorktown toward external docking bay twelve.

After the channel closed, Mike looked as his brother. “Plans?”

“This ship is too good to just let rot or allow Daystrom to have. We dock her in bay twelve, it’s enclosed, and we say this is a new refit of the Odyssey to extend service life.” K’Temoc explained.

Mike only smirked. He couldn’t approve such, but what he didn’t know…

As the ship passed external Drydock 2, where the new Echelon class Yorktown-G sat undergoing an overhaul, another cross-dimensional tunnel opened and out poured the Mirror Universe Pegasus-C, burning, and firing phasers.

“Shields!” Bremer and K’Temoc both said.

“That ship is going to explode!” Draven added.

The Mirror Universe Yorktown locked a tractor beam on the Mirror Universe Pegasus-C as to Starbase 400, both hoping to not only limit the attacker’s field of fire but to also try to limit the explosion. The burning Mirror Universe Pegasus-C tried to turn, but the momentum and two tractor beams altered the course of the ship away from Starbase 400 just before it exploded.

The explosion took Drydocks 1, 2, and 3 with it, and ripped the Yorktown-G apart.

“Survivors?” Bremer asked.

“None on Drydocks One and Three, a handful possibly on Two and the ‘G’. Draven replied in a somber tone. None on the Mirror Pegasus either. Starbase 400 is already dispatching medical shuttles and runabouts.

“Get this ship inside Drydock Twelve now and lock it down. Roebuck, Lennox, I want teams sweeping this ship from stem to stern, make sure no one else is aboard. Stark, Lek go over this ship’s database and systems...I don’t want any other surprises.”

K’Temoc nodded. “You think your Mirror Universe duplicate was killed when that Pegasus exploded?”

“I don’t know.” Bremer replied.
