| Other Family | One of Robert's ancestors was a typical cowboy. He was born in Texas and later drifted to Laramie Wyoming where he became a partner in a cattle spread and stagecoach relay station and part time lawman for many years in the 1870s-1890s before returning to Texas in 1894. Jess took the job of Sherriff in Bovine Texas and was key in keeping the peace until he was shot and severely wounded by an outlaw gang. Even though he survived, Jess had to give up the 'star', but later married and had two sons. One of Jess Harper's grandson's would later be a well respected Texas Ranger named Wade Harper. Robert's grandfather was a Starship Captain in the 2320s, of the USS Texas ironically. |
