Mission: Episode 119 - "Shattered Mirror"
Location: Landing pad 200

Cameron brought the runabout in as smoothly as possible, considering his drink did not even ripple he thought that was good enough. After powering down the engine he simply kicked back put his feet up on the console and waited for the inspection team. He was not going to hide anything there was no point, he knew he would carry what he did for the rest of his life.

Ariana had received news that Cameron had arrived back, accompanying Xalanth and his inspection people to the shuttle bay she was eager to get inside to see Cameron.

Xalanth was doing his best to hide his annoyance as and his team stepped up to the shuttle and opened it before stepping inside. Seeing the mess Cameron was in his attitude changed as he called for a medic. " Well you look like you've been through the ringers," he said noting that Cameron was missing an arm.

"I have but there is no need for the medic chief if you will open that crate to your left you will find my left arm and both feet. I removed them on the off chance you wanted to scan them without also reading my biosigns. Though I would like it if you could do the arm first." Said Cameron with a chuckle.

Ariana had followed Xalanth and his people inside, keeping a distance behind knowing that they had a job to do. She gasped as she saw Cameron before she rushed over to him hugging him gently. “What on Earth!?” She didn’t care if she had an audience she kissed him anyway, letting it linger before leaning back. “Look at you! What have you done to yourself!?”

"I did what I needed to do to keep our family safe." Said Cameron in a hushed whisper. "Chief if your done scanning my arm and feet I would like to put them on so I can leave the runabout and let your people do their job without a civilian in the way." He added

It was at the mention of feet that Ariana gave her husband an even more shocked look. She’d been so focussed on his missing arm she hadn’t noticed his lower extremities.

" May i ask why your arm and feet are in a cold storage box and not attached to you? Last time i checked you had all of them were they should be" Xalanth asked as he ran his scanner over the arm and feet?

" Well the feet and arms are prosthetics a doctor on new dakota made them for me. As to why they are in a box instead of attached to me. I took them off before I docked so they could be scanned. I did not want anyone thinking I was smuggling anything onto the station and I was sure after the changeling scare everyone would be looked at much closer. I am understandably uncomfortable talking about why I have them suffice to say I was unlucky one time." Said Cameron flattly

" You may re-attach your limbs, but you are confined to quarters until we get all of this mess sorted. i wish you'd come straight to me with this. I've had to have your family under guard and monitored who have all been worried sick." Xalanth added closing the case.

"Fair enough chief and I do thank you for looking out for my family I am in your debt for that. Though honestly their was little to nothing beyond permanent protective details that you could have done. I know you are aware what kind of planet new dakota is. I highly doubt a respected starfleet security officer would have been able to do much within the confines that are imposed on you by that uniform. Suffice it to say the threat has been delt with permanently." Said Cameron as he attached his arm and feet then stood up and walked a few steps making sure everything worked as it should have.

Ariana stood looking at Cameron in sheer shock and disbelief, he was walking, he was actually walking! “You...you’re...walking!?”

"Yes I am. It turns out that my body was somehow able to repair the problem over time. Don't ask me how I did not understand it when the doctors explained it to me. Something to do with nano tech or some such thing. The only real problem was my feet over the years they had basicly atrophied and the doctor said it would be easier and safer to amputate them then give me prosthetics that can either be left on all the time or removed as needed. All I need right now is the cane and they said I could even do away with it in 6 months to a year." Said Cameron calmly he was still getting used to rooms being smaller then they had ever been for him.

Ariana was still gobsmacked by it all, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to shout and scream, or just sit down and cry. “This is all...it’s a lot to take in” She looked towards Xalanth. “Xalanth has spent the entire time you were away looking after, and protecting both myself, and our children.” She looked at Cameron. “I’ve become part of an amazing family, you owe Xalanth a lot for what he’s done looking after us.”

" Just doing my job Ariana.” Xalanth replied with a warm smile. " I'd do the same for anyone. Though i wouldn't get Stacie a Yavern if she askes for one." He added with a chuckle. The last thing he needed was a few of them in real life running around the station.

“Absolutely not!” Ariana grinned as she looked towards Xalanth. “I’ll drop by later for our things, let you get your work done first.” She looked towards Cameron. “Let’s go home.”

Cameron looked at the chief and his wife wandering just how bad things had gotten if she had been moved out of their quarters. "Alright honey yes I think it is time we went home." Said Cameron as he picked up the suitcase that he had with him and started slowly walking toward the exit.

Ariana smiled as she walked alongside Cameron, she could still hardly believe he was home again, let alone that he was walking.”

"Chief I will stay in my quarters untill you call but please do not take to long I find that I get antsy if I stay in one room to long. I am sure within a week I will be driving Ariana and the kids crazy." Said Cameron as he walked past the chief.

" Go on be with your family." The lizard replied gesturing his head towards the exit.
