Episode 117 - "Returning to the Mirror"
Location: Various
Timeline: Current
As the true Ariana Monroe remained hidden away, imposter Ariana was fitting in with her life as best as she could. In the last few hours she’d managed to avoid a planned lunch date with Cameron, mainly thanks to the disasters aboard the station which were doing just as they were intended to do.
Cameron was suspicious of several things that were happening. Starfleet and civilian personal on the station were acting out of sorts not to mention he could have sworn he saw himself on more then one occasion.
Then there was the recent canceled lunch date with his wife. It was not normal. Actually it would have been normal for her to leave in the middle or something but not to outright cancel.
Something was off and not in a good way. Then he had a thought. There were two ways to check and he was not sure he was cleared for either one.
"Computer show me the location of all betazoid and half betazoid personal." He hoped that the instruction was vague enough that the computer would allow it. It took a few minutes but soon there were a couple hundred icons.
"Well that is helpful thought cameron coldly. He studied the dates and had a thought. ~What if I try to narrow the search just slightly. "Computer remove all civilian betazoids and any that would be in fields other then medical and counciling." A few seconds went by and the bulk of the dots disappeared. There was only a handful left and only one of those was not in an expected area.
Cameron headed for the cargo bay area. True it was not an area civilians were supposed to go but something seemed to call to him to check out the single dot that was not where it belonged.
In the cargo bay hidden away inside an empty crate was the unconscious body of Ariana, hidden away where no one would normally think to look and lucky that the crates weren’t due to be removed. No doubt the plan was to eventually get rid of the box and her, but right now it sat there waiting.
Cameron navigated his hoverchair throught the corridors glad that he had brought a small platform with him. As he expected he had been asked why he was heading where he was. His excuse was that a shipment he had been expecting had been misplaced and he was going to get it. He entered the cargo hold only to find it devoid of life. ~this is getting downright wierd~ thought Cameron " Computer location of the betazoid life form that is supposed to be here?" Asked Cameron wandering if someone was not playing a game.
The computer gave him the exact location of a sealed crate marked as plasma manifold parts. Opening the crate he found the unconscious form of his wife stuffed into the crate.
Again he knew it was questionable but decided to chance it. " Computer two to beam to the intergalactic mechanics offices." Said Cameron as he held the form of his wife close and was transported directly to where he wanted to go.
Arriving in the office he layer his wife on the couch and got the emergency med kit he kept here in case of accidents. He had kept everything up to date so knew that the hypospray of Stimulants would be good. He placed it on her neck and injected the Stims into her bloodstream. He now could only wait and hope it did the job because honestly he had no idea what had been used to knock her out.
Ariana awoke with a sudden gasp as she sat bolt upright before laying back again. “Imzadi?” She looked at Cameron momentarily confused. “What...?” Then she remembered, someone or something had attacked her. She looked around noting she was in Cameron’s office. “How did you find me?”
"Take it easy love, your safe now. As for how I found you well it was not all that hard. I just asked the computer to show me the location of every betazoid and half betazoid on the station. Then I removed the ones in fields other then science and medical. There was only one dot that was out of place. When I got to the cargobay I just asked it to show me the location of any lifesigns in the room and literally walked right to the crate you were in.
“I was in a crate!?” Ariana looked alarmed. “Last I remember was being hit from behind, everything went dark.” She moved to be up. “I should report in..”
"I think though we need to get to a runabout and get the heck off of this station. There is a double of you in our quarters and I would swear there is one of me as well. I want to get our family to safety and be mobile rather then be stuck here on the station with who knows what. We could have changeling or a mirror universe situation here and if I am honest I have no idea how to deal with people who are but are not who they say." Said Cameron hoping against hope his headstrong wife would see the logic in leaving and getting to safety.
Ariana paused, the mention of getting her children to safety was tugging at her heartstrings. “Okay, we get ourselves and the kids off the station, but I have to alert Admiral Bremer that there’s another me and possibly you loose on the Starbase.”
"I can agree with that assuming Bremer is who he is supposed to be. However I would feel better if you made that call from the runabout." Said Cameron " I will go get the kids and meet you at our runabout." He added
Ariana nodded. “Okay, I’ll meet you there.”
By the way when we meet up again ask me how I got my bull whip. If I answer with anything other then it was a gift from Admiral Janeway stun first do not give me any chance to even twitch." He added.
Ariana nodded. “I’ll do that” she moved to kiss him. “Be careful Imzadi.”
"I will get to the runabout as quick as I can." Said Cameron as he grabbed three bags and slapped transporter tags on them as he headed out the door
"Love you and see you soon." He said as the door closed behind him.
Ariana watched Cameron go, she had to make sure she wasn’t seen or the imposter of her would learn about it. She had to make sure she was at the runabout ready for Cameron’s arrival once he’d collected their children.
