Late night chatting

Posted on Wed May 2nd, 2012 @ 4:49am by Commodore Leon `Lee` Pike & Commodore Alexandra Harrison

684 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Mission 78 - Colonial Uprising
Location: USS Yorktown
Timeline: Enroute to following trail of runabout

Lee knew Alex was pulling a long shift on the bridge so he decided to make her a cup of Vulcan blend coffee and keep her company. Lee grabbed the two mugs and walked onto the bridge.

Lee slighty chuckled:"I knew that I would find you here."

"Yeah? There's not too many places that I can be on this vessel.

He offered her a mug:"Coffee hun, it's a Vulcan blend."

"You read my mind. Thanks." She took the mug from him.

Lee smiled then leanded down to give Alex a kiss on the lips before sitting down next to her.

Alex smiled back at him then took a sip of the coffee, "Hmm, this is pretty good. Great choice."

Lee sat here and took a sip of his coffee:"Am glad you like it. My cousin got me hooked on it."

"I can see why. Thanks again for the coffee."

Lee leaned back looking at her:"So what do you think about this stuff with the pirates?"

"The whole thing is very disturbing. While you were on the runabout, there was a communication from Starbase 400. Apparently, there is some speculation that Winters might be heading to join Clark and his people. The Essex is going to be patrolling the edge of the Triangle, so they will be on the lookout for him as well." She shook her head, "I just don't get why Winters would want to join them. It makes no sense."

Lee sat there watching her as she talked, he could tell she was upset about a lot of things.

"Well hopefully Winters hasn't gone and joined Clark and the pirates but if he has then we will deal with it when the time comes."

"Well, if you ask me, I think that we should just say screw all of the rules and protocols." Her tone became more intense, "Let's go in there and eliminate those damn pirates...be done with it."

Lee finished his coffee and looked at her with a raised eye brow:"And if we go in there and do eliminate the pirates like you said then we would be no different then they would be."

Alex took a breath and exhaled, .Sorry. I'm just frustrated. I hate sitting on my hands and doing nothing."

Lee nodded:"It's ok understand how frustrating it can be sometimes just sitting around doing nothing."

"For sure." She shifted in her seat slightly, "I've been sitting here so long that I think my ass is glued to this seat." She looked over at him, giving him a slight smile.

He then gave her a wink:"But least you have me to keep you company."

"That's good because I was getting bored. Now we can be bored together." She glanced over at her board, checking sensors as she had been doing since he and K'Temoc were on the runabout.

Lee chuckled:"Nothing wrong with having a boring moment here and there. We should have dinner togehter when we get back to Star Base 400, maybe see if Paul wants to come with."

"Sounds good. I'm sure he'd love to."

Lee then looked at her with a bit of serouisness and then spoke to her in her mind:"The dead pilot from the runabout we found was a relative of Commander Winters."

"What the?" She was shocked, "This gets more and more complicated. First Winters resigns and now a relative of his was found dead on a stolen runabout." She paused to take it all in, "Cause of death?"

Lee shrugged:"I don't know why Commander Winters resigned, if it was cause of his relative or not."

"It's a mystery."

Lee nodded:"I can only imagine what is going to be happening soon with everything."

"Me either. I just hope that we aren't in the middle of it."

Lee downed the rest of his coffee:"Who only knows if we will be or not."

She finished hers as well, "I could use a short break. Do you mind?"

Lee nodded:"No don't mind, I can take over. Go ahead and go get some sleep."
