Mission:
Mission 78 - Colonial Uprising
Location: Starbase 400 Ops
Timeline: One day after Working Late
The time was 0800 and Holly was once again running at least a half an hour to forty five minutes late. She was cursing herself the whole entire time that she was getting ready but knew that the transmission that she was involved with late last night couldn't have waited, so the results were her oversleeping the alarm to jolt wake to realize that she was going to be late reporting in. She already called Ops to inform her replacement that she was going to be a tad bit late and the young Ensign wasn't too concerned about it and said that he would wait for her to report in. That he had a message from the Admiral already for her and that she just might like her job a whole lot more this morning. All she could think of was great an assignment was waiting for her and she already was going to be late starting it. Irritated just that much more she rushed around to get dress for duty, and left her quarters with situations running through her head as to what Admiral Bremer had waiting for her when she walked into Ops today.
Getting there was the easy part the hard part was once she was there decoding what the Ensign was telling her about what happened last night and what assignment she was to undertake as the Ensign was a tad bit tired and just boarder line on the verge of bouncing up and down excited which means his lips were moving too fast for her to read and his words were coming out too fast for her to translate in her mind into something workable. That's why when he handed her the PADD she looked at that like thank you and just smiled at him. That was all the man needed to feel like he was discharged from the post and leave Holly. She sighed and went to look at the PADD with the outstanding orders on it from the Admiral as well as a summary of what happened during the night for operations of the starbase. She had to smile a bit seeing the Princeton was docked during the night and now understanding why the Ensign was so hyper. She was an old ship but a challenge none the less.
The former USS Princeton now just called Princeton was considered a giant in its time. The history alone behind her made the ship just that more valuable to keep once the Constitution refits became obsolete in the fleet. Void of anti matter and stripped to float in the bone yards now she was brought out to be reactivated all the way out at Starbase 400, and as head of operations it was her job to figure out where the ship was and where it needed to be. Damage Control Team 3 and Refit/Repair Crew 2 were already at the port waiting for her arrival making this her baby to run. Logging into operations control she then locked the station down and went to meet the Princeton and see just how big of a bucket of bolts they were dealing with. Seventy years was a long time for a ship to sit out in space without nothing but a tug ship towing her around, and so the challenge was to begin for her. She just hoped that the two teams were ready to take it on with her, because if they weren't then they were going to have to just hang on for the ride.
