Mission: Episode 112 - A Trip to Remember
Location: Various
Timeline: MD2, 0745hrs

ON:

One by one the Pegasus, Endeavour, Falcon, and Buccaneer dropped out of warp. They were behind schedule by about an hour thanks to a drifting freighter near SB718 that had needed help. Thankfully, since the Buccaneer had taken off from SB400 without waiting for the others they had been able to make most of the repairs to the freighter before the rest of the ships arrive. Bremer had told Commander Grian over comms at the time, 'Maybe that'll teach you not to be over eager next time.'

Nearing Free Cloud, the system was a buzz with activity. Ships of all types coming and going. It was clear the area was quickly recovering from the recent war.

Tom and Vito departed the Pegasus using one of the ship's runabouts, the only Danube type that was aboard.

"They're clear." K'Wor announced from the rear Flight Operations station before he walked back forward and stood at Tactical beside Ramata'tar.

Mike nodded as he watched the runabout heading away from the Pegasus, then he tapped the comm button on his arm rest.

"Pegasus to Falcon and Buccaneer. Are you ready?"

"This is Buccaneer, Grian here. Standing By."

"Falcon, is ready to go." Ezekiel simply said, waiting for the go ahead order from the Admiral. He had never been to Free Cloud. He had heard of Free Cloud by reputation only.

"Proceed. Good luck." Mike replied then closed the comm.

After the two Interceptor class ships broke formation, Mike looked around the Bridge for a moment.

Croesus looked at the Admiral from the Ops station. He too had an uneasy feeling.

"Signal the Endeavour to proceed to The Artifact." Mike ordered.

Ariana was sitting in her seat beside Bremer simply observing, she couldn’t help but notice the look he and Croesus exchanged.

From her station Kah’lyn had noticed it too.

Deela could feel the tension on the bridge, thick enough to cut with a knife. She was distracted not only by the crew but she also had her own problems as well. It was an awkward feeling, one that she wasn’t accustomed to.

~ USS Endeavor-A ~

Coleman was on the bridge of the Endeavor-A when he heard from the bridge, "We're getting orders from the Pegasus. Admiral Bremer is ordering us to continue to the Artifact and they'll catch up."

Onboard the Endeavor, Coleman looked at Lieutenant T'Se and said, "Mr. O'Riley, signal the flagship that we are proceeding on course to the Artifact and are underway. Lieutenant T'Se, how are our engines doing?"

O’Riley nodded and said, “Yes Sir,”. turning around to use his console he sent a message to the flagship letting them know that they were underway. He on,y had to wait a few minutes to see that his message had been received and acknowledged. Tim turned back around and said, “They have acknowledged our signal to head to the artifact, sir.”

"Mr. O'Riley, how long would it takes us to get to The Artifact at our current speed and heading?" Coleman asked, turning back from Lieutenant T'Se.

Tim entered the coordinates in to the console and looked at the display that appeared before him, turning around he said, “at our current speed and heading it should take us about 6 hours to get there.”

"Okay, make sure that she stays stead. If Engineering needs any help, I'd like you to head down there and lend a hand, if you can Mr. O'Riley. I'll be in my ready room if anyone needs me," Coleman said, heading over to the new Ready Room that was built off of the Bridge of the Athena-Class Starships.

"Sir, this just came from Starfleet Command." Petty Officer de Luca said as she handed Mike a PADD.

Looking it over, Mike shook his head. "Command always dipping their hands in."

Draven looked over, "What's wrong?"

Bremer looked over at Draven, "Starfleet Command is pulling the Sutherland and Vanguard from us."

"What the hell? They give you a reason?" Draven asked.

"Both are being decommissioned." Mike paused, "I can understand the Sutherland...she's been in service since before the Dominion War, but the Vanguard is new." Mike replied.

Draven nodded, "They sending replacements?"

"Yeah, another Prometheus class to replace the Vanguard. The...USS Repulse, fresh out of Avalon Fleet Yards. And, another Nebula class ship, the USS Majestic...she's a about fifteen years old and will need to go straight into drydock." Mike replied shaking his head.

After a pause, Mike downloaded the PADD to his database, then handed it to Draven. "Send it to the Station and K'Temoc. Tell him to make preparations, this says the exchange will take place tomorrow."

Draven nodded and took the PADD.

"Chief, set course for The Artifact and engage." Mike ordered after a moment.

Ariana turned her attention to Bremer. “Silly question Sir, why did you bring me along on this trip? Not that I’m complaining!” She smiled warmly.

Deela remained silent as she listened to the question. She then looked over at Bremer for his reply.

Mike paused a minute before replying. "Once at The Artifact I want you to help gauge the mental health of the Ex-Borg in charge there as well as some other Ex-Borg they have aboard that are in a poor state...either having a hard time after de-assimilation or other PTSD issues."

Ariana nodded. "Ouch ... that could be quite a task given the numbers of Ex-Borg that could be aboard the Artifact, but I'll certainly do my best Sir." She smiled warmly.

"Maybe just the worst of them, or at least a general overview of their condition or treatment suggestions." Mike replied with a smirk.

" Admiral what are our rules of engagement with the Borg?" Croesus asked.

"There shouldn't be any engagement. The cube is powered down, the Ex-Borg are being de-assimilated, and it's cut off from what's left of the Collective." Mike replied.
