Personal History | Early Years: Ezekiel was born on November 22, 2364. Growing up Ezekiel really has no personal ambitions. He wanted to be like his father. His father was a Starfleet officer. Especially after the war, Ezekiel wanted to join Starfleet and do his part to help protect the Federation. He wanted to be like his father. Ezekiel comes from a loving family. A Starfleet family. The family is a very close knit family. He and his siblings were mainly raised by his mother, Dad was constantly gone due to the nature of being a starship captain, he later returned home at the age of 16, and was promoted. For a while there was a struggle between father and son, but in 2375 they were able to reconcile, after the war. From 2372-2375, Ezekiel mimicked his father. He really idolized his father. His father use to be very outspoken. T Dominion War, he changed. Became more secluded, and kept things to himself. Ezekiel noticed his father suffered from PTSD because of the war, despite that, he wanted to serve Starfleet like his father did. Ezekiel being a young child got an altercation with a Vulcan boy that led into mind attack caused by the Vulcan boy's father. The attack was was violent and if it wasn't for other Vulcan adult stepping in he believed the Vulcan boy's father would have destroyed the fragile mind of a young Ezekiel Bagwell. Vulcan doctor's do not have an immediate cure solution. They knew how emotional humans already were at the surface level, and they didn't know how to treat an emotional injury they referred the case back to the doctors of his homeworld on Earth but they were also at an impasse. Once the case came back to the Vulcan doctorate academy they decided to try a revolutionary technique. To help stabilize his synaptic pathways they decided to bond him with another Vulcan boy and a human they were hoping that these elements could help create a mental barriers and blocks and create new synaptic pathways. The procedure work but I had an unusual side effect the three of them were bonded together in a telepathic Bond and whenever they were in close proximity to one another they could communicate to the practically, and be able to read on each other's thoughts. Ezekiel found it hard to make friends, part of the problem was the fact he was on Vulcan surrounded by Vulcan Children. The part of the problem was, he mimicked his father to much, that his social skills were lacking a bit. He found it easier to mimic Vulcans, unlike them though, he was very human and his emotions were on the surface. He never could figure out how to suppress them. After bonding with T'Vol he learned how to suppress his emotional outburst which seemed to be harder control even with the procedure, so instead of trying to fight the emotional authors he found it better to suppress him as best as he could. Ezekiel also hates the name of Ezekiel. The name was given to him by his father, his dad’s best friend died during the cardassian struggle, and his dad promised to name his son after his fallen friend. He prefers to be called Zeke or Zee, as a nickname. Ezekiel feels the name is a keepsake for his dad, but it’s not who he is, and he never the man, and his father being gone all of the time has only made him resent the name. Ezekiel , Margret and Lynn are very close, and keep in contact by subspace. They talk weekly. Lynn really tries to help Luke embrace his namesake, but Ezekiel will have no part of it. Margret hardly ever brings up her father to Ezekiel. She knows it’s a sore subject for him. She does wish that he would reach out and resolve their differences. Lynn and Margret do not share his frustrations, they were excited to see their father, every time he came to visit. For Ezekiel it was not a happy reunion. He hated saying goodbye over and over again. Having your father be constantly deployed, was hard. He felt that he needed his father, and his father chose Starfleet over him. So in response, Luke chose Starfleet over his father. Ezekiel had one friend, that would not allow him to push her away. She was very insist that they become friends. Mainly because they were a minority on Vulcan. Ezekiel became friends with a girl named Jasmine Haynes. Jasmine and Ezekiel were inseparable at a young age. They grew up around each other. Jasmine parents also liked serving on Vulcan, the same as Ezekiel's parents. His father found Vulcan telepathy was a good therapy for him. High School Years: Vulcan schools were tough for Ezekiel. It seemed liked everything was above his comprehensive level. He hated the fact, he could not retain information like most Vulcan children. He was by no means dumb, his brain philology was different. Jasmine and Ezekiel really relied on each other during high school. During high school the two of them met and befriended Anna Woodhouse, an orphan who lost both of her parents in the Dominion War. Ezekiel was instantly taken by Anna, there was something about her that brought a smile to his face. Which was rare, because Ezekiel did not like to express his feelings. He still often mimicked Vulcans. Well as much as Jasmine or his own sisters would allow him too. His sisters always throught that Ezekiel would end up with Jasmine, but it was not meant to be. They really like Anna, but he had a deeper connection, at least at this time with Jasmine. Eventually they came around and loved her, as much as they loved him. Starfleet Academy: In 2382, Ezekiel, Jasmine and Anna all graduated high school and joined Starfleet Academy together. The relationship between Anna and Ezekiel continued to blossom. The older they got, the more he wished he could open up to Anna. But it was a constant struggle for him. Ezekiel did not like public displays of affection. He did like affection, but he was not big about displaying them around others. He felt bad for Anna, he knew she deserved better than this. He tried, but could never get comfortable with allowing himself to become more affectionate. Anna appreciated his attempts, and asked him to hone it back, to his own comfort levels. She loved him for who he was, not who she wants him to be. He felt relieved knowing, she accepted him for being him. A lot of his academic days he focused on his homework, his ambition is to the best in his field. Ezekiel wanted to graduate at the top of his class. He knew that would be a challenge. He wants to be the best operations officer in the fleet. He once thought about command, but having both parents being admirals, made him realize at this stage of his life, that does not seem worthwhile or self fulfilling career field for him. In 2385, the Synth attacked Mars, which put the academy on high alert. They evacuated the academy to be on the safe side. No one knew at that moment if the Federation was going to war. Everyone at the time wondered why did the Synthetic life forms attack Mars. Some of his classmates were really affected by the news. But not Ezekiel, he did not allow the distraction to cause him to fall behind in his studies. He had a rivalary with a student named Turel. Anna tried to get Ezekiel to respond the news of Mars Attack. However Ezekiel never wanted to talk about the attack. He tried not to think about the loss of life, or if he or his family knew anyone on Mars. Ezekiel did not want to distract himself, and fall behind. He had a very competitive spirit. He hated taken second to anyone. His relationship to Anna struggled throughout his junior year at the academy. Ezekiel could tell that if he did not attempt to save his relationship, he may not have one at the begining of his Starfleet career. He really cared for Anna, but he wondered if he was doing right by her. He was a security officer, and he was being primed to joined Starfleet Special Operations. By 2386, Ezekiel was being screened for special operations duties. He and four other members were being considered for the specialized training. Part of him, a major part wanted to go into special operations. While another part of him, wanted to be a regular security officer and had a common life with his girlfriend. Ezekiel agreed to join special operations by his senior year at the academy. In the summer of 2386, Ezekiel had completed the academy. Sadly though he graduated second in his class. A Vulcan named Turel took first in the class, which only infurated him. He really did try hard, but it always seemed like Turel was always one step ahead. USS Windhaven: In 2387, Ezekiel Bagwell was assigned to the USS Windhaven. He was not alone, just last summer his good friend Jasmine was selected to become the Assistant Chief of Security, while Ezekiel joined as Special Operations Team Leader. Jasmine was 6th in her class, he was first offered the role as assistant chief but turned it down. He was annoyed that he was not going to be able to be with Anna. She still had four more years at the academy. She was earning her doctorate in medicine. Ezekiel felt that they were in a good place, and did not time or separation to stop what they had been through. He was grateful his friend from Vulcan would be joining them. Turel the top student in class was given the role as chief of security. Which was very uncommon during this time period. Rarely did cadets get an opportunity to lead their own division. The USS Windhaven is an Inquiry Class Battle Cruiser, her mission was to lead more and more of the black operation missions within Starfleet. Ezekiel took his new role very seriously. In 2389 during a routine mission Lieutenant Turel's away team was compromised and taken captive. Ezekiel and his team was ordered to rescue them. The mission was compromised from the start. 3 members of his team were severerly injured. Turel had been brainwashed by the enemy, with some sort of narcotic drug. Turel was responsible for the three kills. Ezekiel barely survived the attack from Turel. He was victim to a mind meld attack, and Turel was trying to destroy all of his mental defenses making it impossible for him to fight back. Luckily for him, his friend Jasmine saved him by killing her chief of security, in the defense of Ezekiel. The attack was very affective. Ezekiel was a practically comotosed, and was not speaking incoherently. The crew of the USS Windhaven rushed Ezekiel and the three other officers attacked back to Starfleet Medical. Sadly the three other officers did not make it. Jasmine had the miss fortune of telling Anna what had happened. They both thought they were going to loose him. Anna along with Doctor T'Nik thought of an ancient Vulcan technique that might be able to stablize Ezekiel. But it would be costly, he would have to bond with someone. Time was short, and Doctor T'Nik needed Anna to assist him. That really only left Jasmine as a viable option. The options were limited because Starfleet had placed a ban on synthetic technologies which could have cured this element. Doctor T'Nik established a bond between Jasmine and Ezekiel. While he was establishing the bond, Anna was focusing on trying to restimulate is neural pathways. Anna's mind was being used a genetic map to help stablize his. The procedure went on for several hours. By the end of it. Ezekiel life was saved. Ezekiel and Jasmine were not use to the bond, that most other races would share like the Betazed's and the Vulcan's. For the two of them, they had to learn how to accept the new reality. Ezekiel and Jasmine were both overwhelmed. At first this action drew them apart. They were both overwhelmed by the connection they now shared. In a moment, they went from being only friends now sharing all their secrets and bonding in a way that he would never able to bond with Anna. Despite the bond, he still had stong feelings for Anna. He could sense his feelings for her had not changed. It took some getting use to for Ezekiel, he wondered how things were now between him and Anna. It was already a challenge with the fact, that she still at the academy until 2390. She was on her final year. And he was learning again how to control his emotions, and how to control the overwhelming sensation of the bond. For the remainder of the year, Ezekiel went into therapy for the mental attacks he shared during 2389 from the late Lieutenant Turel. Since his death, Jasmine was promoted to Chief of Security, however unlike Ezekiel she was able to go back to work immediately. She recovered faster than he did. She too had to seek therapy though. In 2390 the position of Second Officer opened up on the USS Windhaven and Ezekiel applied for the position. He was surprised that he was chosen for the role. He would have assumed that Jasmine would have applied for it. But to his surprise she did not. Around the same time, Anna Woodhouse joined the crew of the USS Windhaven for the next three years a medical doctor. She started to work on her relationship with Ezekiel, which proved to be a struggle, he had grown acustome to being on his own. After a short transition the two of them were hitting it off once again. Ezekiel's connection to Jasmine was also growing in strength. He felt that maybe he needed a change of scenery. He felt that he and Anna needed some times to just themselves. So he applied for Executive Officer roles in January of 2393. USS Rook: In March of 2393, Ezekiel and Anna transferred to the USS Rook. Ezekiel had applied for a command position. He was awarded the role of Executive Officer. This gave Anna and Ezekiel the time they needed to stregthen their bond. They were able to rekindle their romance when he had gone a little dry with the introduction of Jasmine. Since they were apart, his true feelings were able to surface. He found it a little easier to express his emotions. He had Jasmine to thank for that. Some of her traits poured over to him. In part he was grateful, and other parts he hated the change. But eventually accepted it non the less. In 2395 the USS Rook was badly damaged, and the ship needed to go over a massive refit. The captain encouraged Ezekiel to seek out his own command. Anna and Ezekiel talked about their options, and he applied for a command, Starfleet assigned him to Starbase 400 as Special Operations Beta Team Commander. USS Falcon: In 2395, Ezekiel was given command of the USS Falcon. Ezekiel moved onto the station and was assigned to Admiral Bremer's Special Operations division. Ezekiel and Anna were both assigned to the Falcon. On the Falcon, Anna was the chief medical officer however on the station she was just a medical officer. For the next three years they both served on the Falcon, and made a life forthemselves on Starbase 400. The two them drew very close to another. In 2398 Ezekiel finally asked Anna to marry him. In 2398, beyond the engagement Anna was offered command of her own department. She was offered the role of Chief Medical Officer of Starbase 400. She glady accepted the role. There was no signs that Ezekiel was going anywhere, and this pretty much solitified that she would not be going anywhere. |
