Mission:
Episode 110 - An Endeavor in Discovery
Location: Security Office
Timeline: MD02 1110 hrs
Dustin knew things were never going to be the same again on Starbase 400. Well not for his department. He had no doubt that security protocols, will be increased. Desite the invasion and fall of the Station had very little to do with him or the security team assigned to Starbase 400.
Dustin had a sip from his coffee cup, as he started to review the security logs, from the night before. It was a pretty uneventful night, which was a bit strange to him. There was always some sort of comotion going on with Starbase 400.
Maybe everyone was still on edge, and behaving themselves. Not to much time had passed since the station was attacked, and invaded. Dustin knew that he was still trying to process what had transpired.
Luckily for him, Aubrey had been there to help him through this. And in return, he had been there to help her through this as well. He wondered how she was doing, no doubt up to her head in paper work. Ever since they got back, they all seemed to have a lot of paperwork to complete.
Dustin was not even the department head, and he could feel the strain of completing paperwork. Even in his own department of security. He also needed to complete his after actions report for the USS Falcon.
Dustin had a feeling that the Falcon, would be launched again soon. The life of a special operations unit, was the fact they were always mobilized. How long he wondered, before they would be mobilized again.
The sitting around and waiting bit, was making him a little bit antsy. He preferred to be busy, and on the ship. There he was helpful, and not up to head in paperwork. He wished, he was on a patrol right now. Strolling the promenade, looking for pick pocketers. Instead he was in the office, completing reports.
Dustin was busy on the station, but not the type of busy he would have preferred. He wanted to be doing his job, not stuck at the desk, completing reports. That was no life for him. There had to be more than simply doing reports.
He wondered as he continued to work on his reports, how he could get out of this assignment. Sadly, he did not see a way out of it. He needed to buck down, and it get it done.
Dustin could see that he was doubting himself, and loosing focus on the task at hand. Two things that were brought up in his service report. He wondered, if he should talk to Commander Monroe about his insecurities, or force himself to get through this?
Dustin knew he had some things to think about. Deep down though, he wanted to become a better officer. Maybe meeting with Commander Monroe would be a good thing for him, and a good thing for him and Audrey. Deep down in his heart, he did not want to ruin what they had built. The scene starts to fade away.
