Mission: Episode 110 - An Endeavor in Discovery
Location: Flight Operations
Timeline: MD02 1100 hrs

Whoever said life on a station was easy, needs to be shot and killed. Sam thought to himself, as he walked into the flight operations office. He started to recall his last couple of missions, including his extended stay on the USS Falcon, when they temporarily lost command of Starbase 400.

Sam was eager to review station reports, and play catch up. He was currently acting department head. He was hoping that the station would be able to find a new department head. His place was on the bridge of the Falcon.

In his heart, he, knew he was a special operations type of officer. He also knew, if he ever wanted to see a third pip, he would have to step up and take on more responsibilities. Part of him wanted it, but then again part of him did not.

Speaking of responsibilities, he had not forgotten the promise that he made to Anna as well. To walk her down the aisle. That was a big responsibility. And he was happy to do it. but non the less, it was still a big deal to be asked.

Deep in his heart, he had a feeling that maybe he was cut out for this after all. It was a lot for him to think about, when he found himself all alone in his office. The other pilots, were getting ready for their assignments. They were extremly short staffed.

They were so short staff, that he submitted a request to get additional flight control officers assigned to Starbase 400. They lost some officers to promotions, some to deaths in the recent battle and some due to other personal reasons. It was a struggling act, but he was managing to keep the small craft ships coming and going.

Sam felt that the workload on him, was good. It helped him get through the repercussions of the invasion of Starbase 400, and the retaking of the station. In his mind, he needed to work through it. He wondered, if he should set up an appointment with Commander Monroe. He believed in his heart he was working through it, but deep in his thoughts. He wondered, maybe he was not working through it. Maybe he was trying to burry his feelings, in his work.

Sam heard that she came highly recommended. Then again, he did not want his captain or the admirals to think, that he was weak. His ego was getting in the way. He knew it, but knowing it and doing something about it. Are two very different things.

Sam knew he should reach out to her, but his pride his ego was telling him no. He kept trying to tell himself, that he was working through this on his own. His work was helping him through his struggles.

He needed to trust in himself, and get through this. He was not the only person on this station. That saw combat, and was affected by it. He was trying to tell himself to suck it up, and get back to work. The scene starts to fade .
