Mission: Episode 109 - The Dust Settles
Location: Various
Timeline: MD3

"Why do they make these tubes so cramp feeling?" Dustin asked, as he got on his knees, with his small tool kit in front of him. He started to scoot it in front of him.

“Probably because they don’t have a lot of extra space to give.” Anna said with a smile.

"They expect this to be an emergency escape route. I heard once, that Doctor Crusher of the Enterprise E used one of these to evacuate the wounded, during a Borg Incursion." Dustin pointed out to Anna.

“In an emergency I’m sure no one thinks about being cramped,” Anna said with a smile. “Just getting out of here.”

"That is a way of thinking about it. I will admit, that would be freighting to run away from the Borg, and all you had was this Jeffries Tube." Dustin pointed out to her. He had no desires to be assimilated.

“You make a good point,” Anna said, feeling a shiver at his mention of the Borg. “One I don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about.”

"Ya, that got dark deep. Sorry." Dustin said, feeling very sad that he went down that rabbit hole with her.

“It is okay,” Anna said with a smile. “It’s a part of our lives that we all have to face, I tend to try and push them away.” She looked at him. “How are things going with you and Aubrey?”

"Pretty good, surprised you knew about that. I guess its no longer a secret is it." Dustin said, with a smile on his face. Just thinking about her, brought a smile to his face.

“I saw you two one day on the Station,” Anna confessed. “You were sitting in a booth and pretty close together.” She smiled. “I haven’t said anything to anyone.”

"I dont think its a secret, were just not advertising it. I dont care if it gets out." Dustin said, with a smile on his face. He liked her. And he did not care if the universe or everyone knew that.

“I understand that,” Anna murmured. “Zeke and I were at that stage once.” She smiled then. “And look at us now.”

"You both look very happy and in love." Dustin said. He had noticed their affection towards each other.

“We are,” Anna said with a smile. “I didn’t think that love could be like this. We are very connected with each other in all ways but it is freeing at the same time.”

"I heard a rumor, you are going to married." Dustin said, with a big smile on his face.

Anna smiled. “It’s not a rumor, we are. It’s going to be just a small wedding with our crew.”

"Oh, so we are invited. That is so cool." Dustin said, with a big grin on his face.

“Yes,” Anna looked over at him. “It is a short list but all of you are the priority.”

"I can't speak for the others but I know I'll be honored to attend your wedding." Dustin said here, has the scene starts to fade away

“It is Zeke and I that are honored with all of you in our lives,” Anna said with a smile as they finished up their work.

Inside of the Warp Nacelle

"I've never seen the inside of a warp nacelle before, this should be exciting."Samuel said, as he was trying to make small talk, with Aubrey. They were both heading to the nacelle room entry way on the USS Bucaneer.

Aubrey smiled at Sam’s words. She could tell he was looking forward to this. So was she. “I was glad the captain volunteered us to help out.”

"You were?" Sam said, a little surprised. He would have assumed, she would be itching to get back to the Falcon. There ship was undergoing repairs. It was still in the hands of the corps of engineers. And everyone knew, how much they blunder up repairs. They do great at basic installs, but it was always the ship engineers that had to make the ships run smoothly. And Sam knew that.

“It saves me from the headache of dealing with the repairs on the Falcon,” Aubrey explained. “When we get done here, they will be as well and then I can go fix what they did in peace without arguing and risking insulting them.”

"I suppose that is one way of looking at it. But sadly the headache will still be there, afterwords." Sam suggested to her. He could see her reasoning. But it appeared to him, that she was just delaying the evitable.

“I won’t have to argue with them however,” Aubrey said with a smile. “I can do it in peace.”

"If you need help on that day, I am always willing to help out." Sam said, with a big grin on his face. It seemed like the right thing to say, at this moment.

“I will take you up on that,” Aubrey said with a smile. She appreciated the offer. “You and Sarah have any plans tonight?”

"That is a good question, and sadly I do not know the answer to that." Sam said, wondering what his plan for later tonight was going to be. He had not thought that far ahead yet.

“Well if your up for it,” Aubrey said. “Dustin and I thought it might be fun to have dinner together and either go dancing, maybe play some games or just hang out.”

"That does sound fun, I would hate to intrude." Sam suggested to Aubrey. He did not want to feel like a third wheel. He and Sarah would feel awkward, if that happened.

“You wouldn’t be,” Aubrey replied with a smile. Dustin and I want to do something work the two of you, that is why I am asking.”

"I will mention it to Sarah, and we will get back to you." Sam to her, with a big grin on his face. He had a feeling that Sarah would say yes.

“Good!” Aubrey smiled. “I will be hoping that it’s a yes.” She liked Dustin and Sarah and wanted to spend time with them outside the ship, getting to know them as a couple.

"I hope so too, it would be nice for us to mingle with friends." Sam suggested to her, as the scene starts to fade away.

Aubrey couldn’t wait to tell Dustin that it looked like they would all be hanging out together.

Jeffries Tube, Console Panel A125:A2

"Number One, care to give me a hand?" Ezekiel called out, with a big grin on his face. He was up to his elbows, in isolnear chips. He needed to check all the chips, for damage and compability. The area was very crampt, but it was clear, everyone was bundling up, and working together.

“Yes, Captain,” Sarah said with a smile. She moved over to where he was working and started to help check them out.

"The Captain of this ship is nice, I think she will make a captain. It's just a feeling that I have. Know what I mean, number one?" Ezekiel asked.

“Yes I do,” Sarah nodded. “When we worked together she was always fair and a quick thinker. She has the passion for caring for her crew as you do, Captain.”

Ezekiel that was very sweet of his number one to say, but he felt that he was to distant as a commanding officer. "I appreciate the sentiment. But I know I can improve on that. I may need you to nudge me once in a while, number one." Ezekiel said. He typically kept people at a distance. Mainly to safe guard his own insecurities and trust issues.

“That is one order I am happy to help you with,” Sarah said with a smile. “I will point it out when necesary.”

"I appreciate it, Number One." Ezekiel said, with a humble grin on his face. He was grateful to have a caring and understanding first officer. He knew they would make a great team.

“I know you’re my captain and certain protocol needs to be followed,” Sarah replied. “But I consider you my friend at well and I will help where ever I can.”

"I appreciate that Number One. And I am glad you consider me a friend. I consider you a friend as well." Eekiel said, with a warm smile on his face.

“I feel lucky in that our crew is closer than most,” Sarah continued. “It helps our missions be more successful when everyone feels comfortable saying what is on their mind.”

"It's a small ship, only really two chooses. Be close and work together, or constantly fight and bicker with one another. I prefer to work together." Ezekiel said, with a big grin on his face.

“I couldn’t agree more,” Sarah nodded. “I have little patience for crew squabbling over things.”

Ezekiel just grinned, and then looked to Sarah. "Can you hand me a scanner, I need to realign this relay." Ezekiel asked, trying to carry on the conversation.

Sarah looked and found the scanner, handing it to him. “I am glad they accepted our offer to help.”

"Me too, it also makes moment like this, worth the help. I am enjoying the opportunity, to get to my number one better. You know what I mean?" Ezekiel asked.

“Yes,” Sarah said with a smile. “I think it’s good for both of us.” She paused. “It’s surprising we spend a lot of time on that ship together and there is a lot we don’t know.”

"I hope to change that. Moments like this, will allow us to get to know one another." Ezekiel said, with a big grin on his face.

“I couldn’t agree more,” Sarah smiled. “We are like one big family.” She laughed then. “Don’t worry, I won’t call you our father.”

"Appreciate that Mom." Ezekiel said with a big grin.

Sarah laughed softly at his words. “You got me there, Captain.”

The two of the talked for a bit longer, as the scene starts to fade away.

It had been a good day, Sarah hoped for more like this one.
