Dustin waited out side the door of the conference. He noticed Ariana walking up to him. "Good Morning Commander, I am Lieutenant Dustin Reynolds, Chief of Security. I am going to get you situated on the Falcon. Starting with your quarters, then down to Sickbay." Dustin said.
“That’s very kind of you Lieutenant” Ariana smiled warmly. “I’ve been aboard the Falcon before but a helping hand is always welcome.”
"How far along are you, if you don't mind me asking?" Dustin asked, as he started to walk with her down the corridors of the USS Falcon. He knew she had just arrived on the Falcon. He just got the orders to grant her clearance.
“Almost four and a half months.” Ariana smiled. “Seems like only yesterday that I found out I was pregnant again. Time certainly flies!”
"I can not imagine what that was like, but I can say the past four months have been a wild ride, to say the least." Dustin responded, thinking about loosing of the station, everyone living on their own ships. Ariana was not assigned to the Falcon during that. Dustin was, he was curious to learn more about her adventures. He remembered how mundane things got on the USS Falcon. They really saw no action, while they were all separated.
“A very wild ride. I was XO of the Mercy, learning the ropes from Commander Hades. It was ... a steep learning curve I can tell you!” She grinned.
"That puts you one step closer to a command of your own." Dustin said, with a big grin on his face. Someday down the road, he was looking forward to a command of his own. He still had a long ways to go.
“I’m a Counsellor, not a Starship Captain” Ariana smiled. “I’m happy just being the best Counsellor I can be without having to Command my own ship.” She smiled warmly. “XO full time maybe one day but not right now.”
"Don't let that discourage you, if that is the only thing. I am pretty sure there have been other Counselors that have become a Captain. Ezri Dax comes to mind." Dustin said, as they continued to walk to her quarters. They started to enter the lift. Deck 3" He called out, as the doors started to close.
“I guess so but I’d rather put my family first, as a Counsellor I can do that.” Ariana smiled. “I will do my upmost not to give security any grief whilst I’m here. Last thing you need is to be doing in an emergency is babysitting the pregnant woman. Not that I’m saying there’ll be any emergencies.”
"That's a good way of looking at it, I just started seeing a girl. Just recently. A little to young to think about a family, but I think she is pretty cool." Dustin said, with a big grin. Wondering what Aubrey was up too.
“Enjoy it, life is too short not to!” Ariana grinned as she thought of Cameron. “We’ll take a break after this baby, but we want a large family so this won’t be our last.”
Dustin started to slow down. They were almost to her door. "I plan too. We’re here. Room 205, its a standard officer quarters. I assume its similar to the room you had last time, you were here. Sorry in advance for the cramp feeling of it." Dustin said, as he unlocked the door. "Place your finger on the scanner, and it will be coded for you." Dustin said, as the doors swished open. He noticed her luggage was already in the room.
Ariana did as instructed and the scanner acknowledged her finger print. “These are fine, I don’t mind cosy.” She grinned. “All I ask is a comfy bed and peace and quiet at night.”
"That's one way of looking at it. At least they are not bunk beds." Dustin said, remembering earlier in his career, he had a bunk bed birth instead of his own quarters. That was no fun at all.
“That I’m truly grateful for” Ariana grinned.
"Do you need help unpacking, or do you want to continue towards Sickbay?" Dustin asked, as they walked into her quarters. They were small, but cozy. The room even had a small window that looked outside.
“I didn’t bring much, just the bare essentials” Ariana smiled. “I do need to head to Sickbay though so if you’d like to walk me there that’s great.”
"Of course, the least I can do." Dustin said, with a big grin on his face. "If you are ready." He asked, well more like a suggestive asking permission for them to continue on to sickbay, without actually saying it.
Ariana nodded. “I appreciate you escorting me Lieutenant, thank you.”
"My pleasure Commander." Dustin said, as they started to walk out of the room. "Captain Bagwell speaks very highly of you, and I am reasonably confident a few of us, may need your services as a counselor. That last deployment we were on. Really tried some of our patience." Dustin said. He was talking about the others, but also himself as well. He decided best to suggest it to her, before she went to track him down later.
“Well if you need to talk you’ll know where to find me.” Ariana grinned. “My door is always open.”
"I will probably take you up on that, first though. We should all get settled in. Myself included." Dustin suggested, as they continued to walk towards sickbay.
“Of course” Ariana nodded.
Dustin continued to walk with her, till they made it to sickbay. "I'll take my leave of you, here. What you and the Doctor has to say, is non of my business." Dustin said, with a warm smile on his face
