Mission: Episode 107 – Recovery
Location: Medical Bay, SB400
Timeline: MD2 2100 hrs

The battle was over, yet the aftermath continued...

Stepping carefully over the debris which littered the corridor, Doctor Corrigan paused as she rounded the corner to survey the scene. Since the station was retaken and with support ships struggling to cope with the number of injured, there had been a somewhat monumental effort to ensure the medical department was online quickly.

Security had swept each room, each corridor and every Jeffries tube to ensure it was safe before orders were given to permit anyone inside. Which, honestly, had suited the physician just fine. She had her people to watch over, or else Hades would have her head on a platter.

After security came the engineers, working miracles to repair damaged systems and equipment while clearing any debris. At one point, yellow uniforms outnumbered blue but they all worked together.

And then a core unit of medical staff moved in. Many sacrificing off duty time to continue working, ensuring they had essential supplies back from support ships to tend to the injured. All of which had either came from the Starbase originally or been replicated as needed. And then they began to do what they were trained to do.

Injuries ranged in severity and type, yet every person found themselves with the best care. By the end of the day they had all patients and staff back aboard, albeit they had suffered losses along the way. Carolyn had not dwelled on those. There would be time, she was sure, to mourn those who hadn't survived.

Everything for now seemed in hand and she headed into the office to work on the casualty reports. She had been putting it off, given they had far too many patients and not enough staff but it couldn't wait forever.

Sinking into her seat, the sudden lack of urgent things to do brought on the wave of exhaustion she had been fighting all day.

Quickly compiling the report she forwarded it to Admiral Bremer, before deciding to grab some sleep. Heading for the doctor's lounge she stepped over a few of the staff already sleeping on the floor so they could be on call and curled up on the last chair, asleep almost as soon as she sat down.
