Mission: Episode 107 – Recovery
Location: Starbase 400, Bremer's Office
Timeline: MD2 - 2045hrs

ON:

Ships were in orbit of Starbase 400 and Kaleb IV. Federation, Klingon, Cardassian, Ferengi, C'hakilian, and Romulan Republic. It was good to be home.

Mike looked over his office. They had removed everything of his and replaced it with boring gray tables, chairs, book shelves, etc. His office was due for a massive update...but that would have to wait. The battle was barely won, ships were still burning, rescue teams were combing through the wreckage looking for survivors while repair teams were prioritizing ships that needed repair...as well as beginning salvage operations for the destroyed ships and ships too badly damaged.

Starbase 400's support ships had suffered greatly. The Endeavour and Ark Royal were both gone, not even a bulkhead was left of them. The Venator was also listed a destroyed. Lieutenant Nivar and many of the crew had been rescued but the Prometheus class ship was no more. Then there was the Pegasus, Mike's pride and joy. She was adrift in the battle zone with too many hull breaches to count. Her back was broken, powerless, and still on fire internally. The Pegasus was still listed a 'heavily damaged' but Mike had already come to the realization that his beloved ship would soon be listed as destroyed as well. He also saw a notation that the Sovereign class ship that had been delivered to Starbase 23, incomplete and not yet commissioned but intended to be the new USS Saratoga had been reallocated by Starfleet Command and would finish her fitting out at Starbase 23 before being reassigned to the Fifth Fleet.

Mike tapped the record button on his PADD, "As of this date, the Vesta Class USS Juno will be re-designated and renamed USS Ark Royal NCC-24891-A. Allocations needed for Athena Class vessel to be named USS Endeavour, Akira Class to be named USS Saratoga." Mike paused a moment, then added, "USS Pegasus will be designated at a later date."

Mike knew he couldn't make too many requests for additional ships right now, Starfleet as a whole had suffered greatly in the war so far. It would mean Starbase 400 would have two fewer support ships than she had at the start of the war, but if that's all she had lost then fortune did indeed favor the bold.

Then, there was a casualty reports. Every ship in the fleet had people in their sick bays, and with Medical staff returning to Starbase 400 he was sure the station's medical facilities were full too. He only hoped the Typhon Pact hadn't bastardized them like they had his office. He awaiting a report from Hades and Corrigan and made a note to himself that as soon as time allowed he would visit the brave men and women that had won a great victory while paying such a high price.

This war had already taken so much, from so many. Mike said a silent prayer that it would all be coming to an end soon. A victorious end for the Alliance. With Starbase 400 and K'Vak Station back in Alliance hands the momentum was on their side. Now, would they use that and continue taking the fight to the enemy or would they sit back again and wait. As much as it pained him, he hoped they would keep the pressure on the Typhon Pact.

Mike tapped a few commands on the PADD and saved his notes as he looked out the window as the Yorktown, Enterprise, Odyssey, and Essex slowly passed by...
