It had felt like an extremely long month, sporadic communication with her family was making keeping Ariana's spirits up pretty difficult. Her stomach was pretty unsettled too more so than her last pregnancy, she'd spent most of the morning in and out of the bathroom which wasn't helping with her duties as XO. She felt tired, and washed out but she didn't want to let Hades down by taking time off to rest.

Making her way to Sickbay she wondered how Carolyn was fairing with her morning sickness, no doubt she'd soon find out. As she entered Sickbay she made it as far as mid Sickbay before her legs finally turned to jelly and she unceremoniously landed in a heap on the floor.

“I’ve got you,” one of the nurses assured her as she appeared at Ariana’s side, carefully helping her back to her feet. With a look of concern she guided the newest patient towards a biobed. “Are you alright? Here, just sit a moment and I’ll have one of the doctors come see you.”

Ariana felt like a complete fool, as XO of the ship she was supposed to show an air of sense in front of others and instead she’d pushed herself to the wire even though she wasn’t feeling well. She nodded and offered the nurse an embarrassed smile.

“Ariana! What happened?” Doctor Corrigan asked as she rounded the corner, stopping abruptly when she saw Ariana on the biobed.

Ariana sighed. "I walked in and collapsed." She offered an embarrassed and tired smile. "I was coming to see you anyway, I've been feeling rotten for a few days what with the time spent away from Stacie and my morning sickness ..." She paused. "I've barely managed to eat anything the last few days, I just end up in the bathroom two minutes later!"

“I’ll get you something that will help with the nausea,” Carolyn assured her, moving away. The trip to collect what she needed and get back slowed down by queries every other step or reports to be signed. “Okay.... here we go....”

Administering a dose from the hypo she carried she held it towards Ariana, “twice a day, morning and night.

This,” she added, holding out a bowl, “is double chocolate ice cream. Have as many times a day as you like but it will make you feel more you. Eat, then lie back and rest. No arguments.”

Ariana gave her friend a questioning look but she wasn't going to argue, she was hungry and tired. She slowly spooned herself some of the ice cream before putting it in her mouth and savouring it. "Hmmm ... that is good!"

“Chocolate heals all ills,” Carolyn told her.

"So does this mean I need to stay or am I free to go back to my quarters?" Ariana gave Carolyn a warmer smile. "I have a myriad of reports sitting on my coffee table waiting to be signed off!"

“I want you here for an hour at least to make sure your vitals perk up, then you can rest at home. No reports. Rest.”

"You know ... I was hoping you'd say that!" Ariana grinned. "Being XO is all very well but I miss my Counselling duties." She spooned up some more ice-cream and savoured it now the hypo was helping with her sickness.

“I imagine it must be a headache in itself but paperwork is a universal truth,” Carolyn observed.

"Tell me about it!" Ariana grinned before spooning up the rest of her ice-cream. Putting the bowl down she rested back on the biobed. "Don't be surprised if I fall asleep, I feel like I could sleep for a week!"

“Go for it,” Carolyn grinned as she walked away.

"Yes Doctor!" Ariana grinned and lay down, it didn't take long for her eyes to droop and close, now she could finally get the rest she needed.
