Visit to Earth

Mission: Episode 109 - The Dust Settles
Location: Starbase 400/Earth
Timeline: MD1 - 1700hrs

Alex sat on the shuttle enroute to get her kids from Earth. She was exhausted from fighting and all she wanted to do is see her kids. She was excited to see them again. It felt like forever. She wondered what she missed with them being so young and everything. A tear ran down the side of her face as she sat there, thinking about the day they shuttled the kids off to her parents...

Before the battle/Starbase 400 takeover...

Lee was in the shuttle bay, getting the last things ready for the trip, he had already packed all of their luggage onto the shuttle, he was now finishing the pre flight check.

Alex walked in, holding the twin's hands. Brandon was holding Raivyn's hand. Raivyn was already missing her mom but Brandon was excited. He told Alex not to worry about his sister, that he would keep her from being scared.

Alex and the kids joined Lee. "I guess we are as ready as we can be. I hope you don't mind having to take on two more young passengers. Their grandmother will meet us at your parent's place and pick them up there." She agreed with Deela about the safety of the kids. They needed to be away from all of the violence that was brewing.

Lee turned his head slightly from the pilot's chair "You know that I don't mind that her kids join us. Just hope you don't mind that Maal is going with us as well, he is going to be watching the twins."

"Good." Alex seated the kids and made sure that they had stuff to entertain themselves for the trip. "I guess when he gets here then, we can leave. I am looking forward to this trip. I think getting away is going to be good for us."

Hard footsteps could be heard up the ramp as the big Klingon walked into the shuttle "When who gets here?" Maal asked her.

Alex looked over at him, "When 'you' get here, you big oaf." She smiled. In the background, Brandon was consoling his sister who was looking wide eyed at Maal. Klingons scared her a bit.

Maal looked at Alex shaking his head, turning he spotted two new people he walked over towards them and lowered to their eye level "Hello there I am Maal, who might you two be?"

Brandon jumped right in, "I'm Brandon and this is my sister Raivyn. Don't mind her. She's scared of everything." Alex cut in, "These are Admiral T'Lars children. We're taking them to their grandparent's house. She doesn't want them here until things calm down here."

Maal looked at the girl "It's ok Raivyn, fear sometimes can be a good thing. It keeps you alive." He then stood up to his full height and then headed for the cockpit.

Raivyn didn't take her eyes off him. Alex sat down next to the twins who were getting antsy. "Okay kids, are you ready? I need you all to be on your best behavior now, okay? And stay in your seats."

Lee hollered back there "Ok everyone time to go." He closed the rear hatch remotely then punched in the controls for the shuttle to take off and head away from Starbase 400 and towards Earth.

Brandon couldn't contain his excitement. The twins weren't sure about the shuttle and Raivyn, well, Raivyn was being Raivyn. Once the kids settled down, Alex started reading something that she had brought along.

Lee flew the shuttle away from the Base then punched in the controls to set course for Earth at maximum warp. He rose nodded to Maal who took over piloted as he headed towards the back "How is it going back here?" Lee asked.

Alex looked up, "It's going great. Looks like the twins are enjoying the ride. And Raivyn has calmed down with the help of Brandon.

Brandon chimed in, "That's what big brothers are for. Paul used to tell me that all the time."

Alex chuckled, "Yup. That sounds like Paul."

Lee looked at his wife "Have you told Paul that we are coming to Earth?

"No, I haven't. I thought we could surprise him at Starfleet Academy, after we drop off the kids. I know how much he 'loves' surprises." Alex chuckled.

"Oh I am sure that he'll really love this one." Lee turned to watch his children

As Lee sat there watching the children play he turned to his wife "Imzadi, how would you feel about having another child?"

"Another child?" Alex smiled at the thought of another child, "If things go our way, I wouldn't mind having another child. If we get through this unscathed, I'd love to have another one with you."

Lee looked at her "I am sure that we will get through this unscathed, we always manage to make it through everything." He held out his hand to her.

Alex took his hand, "I know. Until then, the kids will be safe and that is the most important thing right now."

Lee turned towards the kids watching them "They will be safe, Maal said he will stay here on Earth to keep an eye on them."

Alex relaxed a bit, "Good,"

Present time

Alex wished Lee could have come with her but he had a job to do. He would be joining her later on Earth.
