Mission: Episode 98 - A Raid on Peace
Location: Admiral T'Lar's Office, SB400
Timeline: Just after ERT Breifing

ON:

Hades finished with the briefing. He sent out messages to his team and those who'd be going with him. He made a straight line towards Deela's office. She'd sent him a message a while back but it had been so busy for both of them. When he was free she wasn't and vice versa. He stood outside her door and rang the chime.

Deela looked up from the PADD she was looking at, "Enter." The stone that she had received was sitting in a small box on her desk. She waited for the door to open.

Hades walked in, his hands clasping a PADD behind his back. "Admiral."

"Ah, Dr. Hades, good to see you. Thank you for coming." She sat back in her chair and motioned for him to sit, "Have a seat."

He took a seat placing the PADD on her desk. "I regret that it took so long. It seems that our schedules have been rather....busy as of late."

"Yes, it has. I will make it quick as I know that the USS Mercy awaits your arrival." She leaned forward, picked up the box and sat back in her chair once again, "Have you met Lieutenant Liora? She is our new Archaeologist and Anthropologist."

Hades' eyes widened a little. "Funny that. I was going to speak with you about the Lieutenant myself." There was a brief pause. "I am ... quite familiar with the Lieutenant." He said.

"She was telling me about The Prophets and the Orbs of Love. When she told me the story and the prophecy, it sounds just like Lai'lira. She wants to find them and take them back to Bajor where she says they belong. I would have told her that we my have them but I wanted to discuss it with you."

Hades mind worked into overdrive. Could he ... should he... a lie was a lie even when just an omission. "I would support speaking with her. The Lieutenant is quite knowledgeable she specifically loves myths and legends. I would say, if you are asking me, that her motives are one hundred percent pure. I, myself, have not revealed the stones information to her as it was not my place without your approval. Once this settles or perhaps while I am away you would speak with her about it. She can have access to my stone. I keep it in my quarters locked in a drawer of my work desk." He looked T'Lar. "Would you be willing to speak with her?"

"Yes, I would." She could sense that he was holdong back about something but wasn't sure if it had to do with the stones or something else.

"Excellent." There was a brief pause. "There is something else you should...know about Kalani."

A look of concern came upon Deela's face, "Please, tell me."

He sighed, "I met the Lieutenant a day after her arrival which was...approximately two weeks prior to our excursion to Cardassia. A long story. Needless to say after the first unfortunate and somewhat odd meeting I had the opportunity to speak with her. We spoke often and I found her to be intelligent and wise, and she was filled with a effervescent joy that was difficult to ignore. A week into the meeting...."

She continued to listen intensely.

"Perhaps I better just speak plainly." He said.

"Yes. That would be the best way."

"We had been speaking several times a day since our meeting often times spending the night walking the promenade." He paused. "On Cardassia she fell ill with the fever...she was already stage three by the time the cure rolled around and..."

Deela was surprised about the whole thing. When she saw her, she seemed fine, "I do not understand. She seemed fine to me."

"She is now. But the point is when she was ill, the thought of her loss terrified me. Early on in our...conversations and walks she confessed her feelings to me. She insisted it was love at first sight. I was...not sure. When I thought she would die I found that the thought of living without her was unbearable yet I did not feel worthy enough to be with her. I was struck, as you know with Pon Farr. I left the ship after we spoke knowing that I had no mate on Vulcan, no way to end Pon'farr with meditation and I was willing to perish on Cardassia. Kalani was not willing to let me go. Our feelings for one another no matter how I refused to admit it were strong. In essence... Admiral Lieutenant Kalani Liora or as is her proper name, Kalaniadreyeliorani is my wife."

Deela didn't know what to say. She was more than surprised, "Your wife? You and Kalani?" She was happy that Dr. Hades was able to satisfy his Pon Farr, "Congratulations?" She formed it into a question, hoping that he felt it was a good thing.

He smiled slightly. "Thank you. We did not want to say anything yet. I am expecting acknowledgement from Vulcan of our marriage. At first I thought she would change her mind but I was hoping she would not. What we feel for another is very real we both would like to have a federation ceremony. She has not had the best life and I wish only to give her the pleasure of planning a wedding and of making an announcement that we are to wed. While we are married in the Vulcan sense and Starfleet recognizes the union I wish the experience for her."

"Good for you." She hoped that Vulcan would acknowledge it. Her dad was married to a Betazoid/human and it took a while but in the end, they did, "I wish you both luck."

"Thank you. I have a favour to ask. You are the first and only person to know other then Kalani and myself. While I was going to keep the records not updated until a Federation ceremony was conducted I wish to update my file now. If something should happen on this mission to me I wish our marriage to be entered. Also... Admiral will you look in on Kalani while I am away. The bond is still new and she has been experiencing headaches. Normally there is a Vulcan elder as a guide when the bonding is done and I worry that there might be effects for her."

"I will get on it as soon as possible. Kalani is in good hands so do not worry about her while you are away." Deela leaned forward and set the box back on the desk, "She will be occupied I am sure with the orbs and hopefully, it will make your absence bearable."

"Thank you," he bowed his head slightly. I would also like to request family quarters. When I arrived I took quarters that were small refusing senior officer ones." He pushed the PADD to her. "This is my formal request it requests a kitchen," He smiled dreamily, "Lani loves to cook and a water shower as well as a tub." He cleared his throat. "I understand there might be some work by OPS that needs to be done I am willing to cover any costs associated with it."

"Do not worry about it. I will make the arrangement. Consider it a wedding gift from me." Deela continued, "I noticed that Kalani loves shopping too so she should have fun decorating, unless you would like to have a say in it. Otherwise, I can arrange it once you get back."

He smiled, "Actually it will be a surprise for her after the official wedding."

"Okay, great." Deela stood up, "Is there anything else? If not, be safe."

He stood and looked at T'Lar. "Admiral thank you. I have no words to thank you. When I am back and once the Vulcan certification comes through we will make the formal announcement and official wedding plans."
