With most of the medical staff including her usual doctors off station, Ariana was surprised to get a call from Doctor Harris. He'd requested her presence in the Infirmary but hadn't explained why. As she arrived she was surprised to see Cameron there too. "Hey" She smiled.

Harris sighed, he'd filled Hades in on what was going on and with the blessing of the CMO he'd called Ariana there as well as Mr. Wayne. The discovery had been purely by accident.

"Hey yourself Ariana I have no idea what this saw bones wants he would not tell me jack crap." Said Cameron he was slightly miffed at being pulled away from the shop for no apparent reason.

Ariana looked at Harris curiously, there was something about his demeanour that had her troubled. Was there something wrong with her last set of test results? If so why hadn't Carolyn told her? What did Cameron have to do with it all? One hundred and one thoughts were going around in her mind. "Is there something wrong!?" She slowly took a seat infront of Harris' desk looking at the doctor with concern.

"Not wrong...the baby is fine. I can assure you of that. There was however an anomaly. As you know we have some Cadets with us this year. As part of their studies we teach them how to compare the DNA of a child to it's parents. This was we can predict if the child will possibly have condition that will require medical treatment after birth. Your sample, was accidently picked up by one of the cadets."

"You said the baby was fine?" Ariana looked at Harris confused. "I don't understand." She looked at Cameron.

"The baby is healthy..." he cursed Hades for being away. "It's just...we pulled the file for your husband and the DNA....was not a match."

"What!? You're saying my husband isn't my baby's father??" She sat looking at the desk in silence for a few moments. "The twins were conceived by IVF, my husband couldn't have children in the conventional sense he arranged for us to have a baby by artificial means with samples from us both. Perhaps there was a mix up?" She looked at Cameron still not understanding where he came into it all.

"Doc get to the point I have things to do and your getting on my nearves." Said Cameron coolly.

Harris held up his hands. "Now... Let me be honest here. There could have been. If I am to find out I need to run some tests but right now...Mr. Wayne...you are a match to the child."

"WHAT are you barking mad doc or did you get a hold of some romulan ale or something worse." Said Cameron he was now beyond pissed and boardering on down right mad at the accusation.

Ariana looked at Cameron her eyes wide with disbelief and amazement. "You? But how? How could you be my baby's father!?"

"Ariana I have no idea what this, this idiot is thinking but as far as I know there is no way I could be the father of your baby. We did not even know each other 5 months ago." Said Cameron he was trying to calm down but right now all he wanted to do was take out his whip and start cracking it.

"I'm afraid that there was no mistake. The DNA is a 99% match. You are the father." Harris said.

"Doctor let me be perfectly clear here alright. I do not give a rat's ass what your damn test say's there is no way in hell that I could be the babies father. Now we can either drop this as I think you are upsetting Ariana and that is not something either of us want. Or well I will let you wander what else could happen." Said Cameron he was still trying to calm down and at the moment that was kinda hard.

Ariana was outwardly very calm but her emotions were anything but which was making her baby do somersaults. She gently rubbed her bump as she looked at Cameron. "Have....you ever donated to a clinic?" She looked at Harris then back at Cameron.

"Yes I did though it was several years ago I would have thought that they would have thrown out my sample by this time, I mean it was over 10 years ago." Said Cameron calmly or at least as calmly as he could under the situation.

"It's the only explanation!!" Her emotions were finally starting to show no matter how much she wanted to hide them. "DNA Tests don't lie!" She stood up from her seat and started pacing instead.

"I am not saying the test lied I am saying that there was a mistake in the running of the test. However I am not a doctor nor a scientist so I do not know the likelyhood that such a mistake happened." Said Cameron trying his best to keep hios tone as nonconfrontational as possible. He knew he was sitting on a powder keg and right now the last thing he wanted was for a spark to be thrown to ignite that powder keg.

Harris bristled. Hades might have tolerated a veiled threat but he did not. He stood. "I will let the two of you figure it out. As for you Mr. Camron. I do not need to wonder what else would happen because if that is a threat I will have you escorted to the brig. My job is to report the tests. You may take the time you need in this meeting room. I have patients." He left the room quite upset. He knew this was a shock but really. He knew that Hades would not be pleased with how he'd handled that but he'd deal with that when the doctor came back.

"Doctor Harris..." Ariana looked at Harris. "Thank you." She watched him go before looking at Cameron.

"I do not make threats Doctor." Said Cameron under his breath after the door closed behind the doctor. He turned back to Ariana "Alright honey given what the doctor has just told us how do you want to proceed. I am not sure what kind of father I would be or even if you would want me to be the babies father."Said Cameron he was honestly still in shock and more then a little scared.

"I....." She stopped pacing and took the seat next to him "My husband told me a time would come when I'd need answers. I didn't understand then but I guess now..." She took a few relaxing breaths. "He left me a letter I guess it's time to read it." She looked at Cameron. "Do you....even want to be with me now? If this isn't a mistake then you're the father of my daughter and the baby that I...lost two months ago."

"As long as you can understand that I never thought I would be a father and have no idea what to do I still want to be with you this is just another facet to our rather unusual relationship." Said Cameron as he squeezed her hand softly but firmly

Ariana smiled. "In that case, would you come back to my quarters with me? I think it's time I read the letter Jonathon left for me and as it concerns you too it's only fair you're there when I open it." She gently ran her hand over her bump. "All the emotion has this little one doing somersaults."

"If you want me to then I would be happy to be there for you." Said Cameron calmly he was relaxing a little more as the time went on.

Ariana breathed a sigh of relief. "As much as this is a shock...for both of us! It's almost a relief to not feel alone anymore." She offered a smile. "But I...I lost a baby Cameron, I lost our baby!" She hung her head. "I...I'm sorry."

"There is nothing to be sorry about what happened happened for a reason we will just have to make sure that we show our baby all the love we can. It might be calused of me to say it but here is how I see it. You lost one baby and that is tramatic however you still have one growing inside you getting bigger and stronger by the day. We should focus on what we will have and remember what was lost, remember but not let it consume us to the point we can not be happy with what we have." Said Cameron as calmly as possible.

Ariana smiled. "You are a wise man Cameron, I am happy. I'm still working on my grief but it makes this baby all the more special. How's about we head back to my quarters, I want to see what is in the letter that Jonathon left me. It may have answers I need."

"Alright just know that I will be right beside you regardless this is my kid your carrying and I will NOT desert you on that you have my word." Said Cameron as he followed Ariana out the door.
