Mission:
Episode 95 - Helping Old Friends
Location: USS Falcon Mess Hall
Timeline: MD 10, 0800 Hours
The crew of the USS Falcon, were settling into their new roles. They had gone through several battle drill simulations. Zeke and Anna, had walked into the mess hall, that closely resembled the mess hall of a defiant class starship. It was clear to him, that the designers of this ship took heavy inspiration from that design.
"How are the crew holding up?" Asked Zeke, as he noticed Ariana approaching his position with Cadet Mattson.
Anna just picked up her glass, and took a sip of juice. She was curious to get the counselors perspective on the eval of the crew, at this stage of the simulation. It was not typical to conduct a lot of simulation drills over and over in a two week period. However this was a special operations unit, and they needed to be prepared Anna knew that as much as Zeke did.
Zeke felt bad for pushing the crew hard with all of these drills, but he was trying to get them ready. He was very happy to have a counselor that volunteered for this assignment. Zeke was proud of his crew, but it was the job of Anna and Ariana, to make sure they could handle it. The stress of high combat scenarios.
"I think the crew are holding up very well Commander" Ariana smiled warmly, "considering everything they've had thrown at them they've handled it all admirably."
Marcus was standing at ease next to Lt Monroe, as a simple cadet it wasn't his place to evaluate. He was the one being evaulated and he had done his best to make the captain proud. A senior members recommendation was worth plenty when getting his final evaluation at the academy.
Ariana couldn't help but smile as she turned to look at Marcus, she knew they'd have to keep their relationship strictly business when on duty but off duty there was no reason why they couldn't show how much they cared for each other although she wanted to be sure how comfortable with that Marcus was.
"Happy to hear that Counselor, Starbase 400 called they cancelled the rest of the exercise for you two, I wanted to inform you both. It has been an honor working with you both on this training exercise. I hope we can do it again soon." Said Zeke, as he took a sip of coffee.
"Thank you sir. You gave me my first experience of space combat." he gave the captain a sharp salute.
"At ease Cadet, the Falcon is heading back to Starbase 400, finish your breakfast. We will be there in 10 minutes." Zeke said, as he started to work on his plate of food.
"It's been a pleasure Commander working both with you & your crew" Ariana smiled warmly at Zeke "I'll be happy to join the Falcon again anytime"
"I will take you up on that, at a later date." Said Zeke as the scene starts to fade.
