It has only been a few hours after Ward's meeting with the two Admirals. Even though he did not drop by a tailor shop for new uniforms, he did manage to get his Star Fleet Identification updated, so he can visit his old ship. It was a good decision, because the Security Officers guarding the dock scrutinized him, due to his civilian attire. They backed off immediately, once his identity, and rank were verified. He decided to walk the gangway, instead of using a transporter, so he can see the ship grow as he got closer to boarding her. Once he got to the hatchway, he paused to touch the sides of the port, as if he expected to physically feel the soul of the Sentinel, and to reassure her that it really was him that was coming aboard. "Permission to come aboard,"he said to the next set of Security Officers waiting at the hatchway. "Granted Sir."

He slowly stepped aboard, and took his time walking through her decks. The lights in some areas were dim, since the Sentinel was powered down. He took the stairs all the way to the Main Bridge. "Computer, set lights to normal." The interior of the Bridge lit up. The interior color was different, as were some of the consoles, but basically, the Bridge was the same. He sat down on his old chair, and his mind filled with memories. He could almost see Tenson in the First Officer's chair, Kempala at Tactical, Jamison at Flight Control, Cromwell at Ops. He could see Pike standing next to Tactical, flirting with Kempala. All was normal in his universe. He saw a spot on the bulkhead, next to the main viewer, and remembered when Jimenez missed a Breen that boarded the Sentinel with his first shot, but not his second. The new paint could only hide so much of the thermal damage the phaser caused. He walked into his ready room, an remembered his antique weapons collection that adorned his walls. He pushed a wall panel, which then revealed his hidden weapons locker, which used to contain a pair of phaser rifles, and hand phasers, just in case. This hidden feature came in handy on a few occasions, most notable when the ship had Pre-Surak Vulcans aboard as "guests". He could not believe he was aboard the Sentinel, once again, and that she belonged to him.

He spent the rest of the day exploring his ship, and remembering everything that made her the ship that she is.
