Missed Girls Night

Mission: Episode 92 - More Questions than Answers
Location: Sparrow
Timeline: MD05 1030 hours

Splendora had finished her session with the Hurds and another client and was on her way to sickbay again to check in with Hades when she thought about Merah. She'd missed girls night and she owed her an explanation. She headed to the Sparrow and looked through the window. Seeing Merah she knocked on the window.

Merah turned around and almost dropped her drink. In the window was Splendora, but it looked like she had started a bar brawl with a ship full of Klingons... and lost. She looked awful... black eye, swollen forehead, swollen lip and most notably hand imprints on her throat. Fear and anger welled up inside of Merah, along with a little bit of guilt. When Splendora hadn't shown up last night, Merah had thought that she was being blown off. Now, though, she could see that something important had kept her away.

She rushed to open the door and pulled Splendora in. "What the hell happened", she asked, fear and anger mixing into her voice. She pulled Splendora into a hug and then released her. "Are you okay? Who did this to you?"

Splendora returned the hug. "Big Bolian. Can we sit down a bit and I'll tell you what happened. Thank goodness that Tom showed up I could barely breath. He found me gasping for air and called medical."

Merah lead them both to the back to one of the private dining areas. She tapped a command on the PADD she carried, alerting her staff to bring a variety of small finger foods and drinks. Then the door shut behind them.

In her mind, she thought. *A big bolian. There aren't to many of those around here. I may have to call in a few favors.*

They sat down. So Splendora told her, she told her about the box she'd found that altered memories, the feeling that people had been in her quarters and office, and the Bolian who was now in the brig who'd surprised her. She began to cry all of it hitting her. She'd had three broken ribs that were mended but still hurt, the bruising would need more treatments and she told Merah about her injuries about how the doctor had told her to avoid talking as her vocal cords were a bit bruised. And then it hit her. "Oh Merah I'm so sorry I wasn't here last night. I was on my way honest."

Merah waved away her apology. When the food arrived, she set a glass of cool water in front of her... and glass of wine. The girl's nerves needed to be steadied.

"Don't you worry about that, Splendora. I'm glad they caught the bastard!"

Splendora drank down the water in one gulp wincing as she swallowed. "I'm a mess Merah. The worst of it all he could have hurt Tom. He threatened him and I couldn't warn him." She sipped the wine. "I still have to go down to security and give my statement and back to sickbay. I went to my quarters and they were trashed. I...I just wish I could leave for a few days. I had three sessions today and couldn't concentrate."

Merah looked at Splendora for a moment. She chewed on the side of her lip as she thought about what she was about to offer. Then she shrugged.

"As it happens, I am about to leave the station on a little business trip. One of my other jobs is that I find things that people need. I will be gone for almost a week. I wouldn't mind the company if you want to come with me, but I want to warn you, a few of my trips ended up "rougher" than I imagined. Most are usually not too interesting though."

She smiled. She could sense that Merah wanted her to go with her. "Okay. Let me rebook some appointments and put Phoenix in the Kennel and then I have to let Tom know so he doesn't think I disappeared on him." She thought for a moment. "Oh Merah he could have been hurt because of me." She shuddered at the thought. "I...." She looked down. "I would never have forgiven myself it something happened to him."

Merah patted Splendora on the leg. "I'm positive that Tom would be able to take care of himself if something was to happen, but I think it would be a good idea to let him know. And why don't you bring Phoenix with you? The ship will be big enough for us and it would be kinda cool to have her around."

Merah handed Splendora a small PADD. "Here is where my ship will be at. I will be leaving at 1800 hours tonight. If you would like, we can have that dinner I promised you and then leave afterwards. I can fill you in on part of the mission before we leave."

Splendora gave a nod. "Okay. That works." She took the PADD. "I'll be there tonight. I should go to sickbay though. I'm still kind of shaky and I'll let Dr. Hades know what's going on." Splendora thought for a moment. "See you here tonight?"

"Absolutely. Pack a wide range of clothes. If my sources are right, we'll be hitting a planet that had extreme temperatures."

She smiled, or tried to and winced. "Okay. I'll go pack and then I'll send a message to Tom." It was better that she didn't see him.
